Renewal Taekwondo in Multiverse

Chapter 12: System

Hello everyone, I'm feeling a lot better and can probably write again? idk but I feel better though

As Mori stirred awake, the warmth of the sun was already pressing down on him. Judging by the intensity of the light filtering through the canopy, it had to be well past noon. He sat up slowly, his joints popping and cracking as he stretched out his arms and legs. His muscles ached from the sheer strain he had put them through last night, and he let out a deep sigh.

"Man, I'm exhausted," he muttered, rubbing his face. His body was aching for rest, even with a tired body he could still move around normally as his energy continued to recover.

"I guess I can release the seal for a little bit, just to recover," he reasoned aloud before activating Jeabong-Jeung, unleashing the rest of his strength as his body quickly heals.

The moment the seal was lifted, a surge of warmth and strength coursed through him. It wasn't just the usual rush of power—something felt different. His body responded more smoothly, his muscles felt denser, and there was a distinct increase in his overall physical strength. His brows furrowed as he processed the sensation.

"Wait… does my entire body grow stronger through intense strain while my power is sealed?" he mused. That shouldn't have been possible unless he was fully unsealed. Yet, here he was, feeling physically enhanced even though he had fought in a restricted state for days.

Before he could ponder further, a loud, earth-shaking growl erupted from his stomach.

"Fuck," he groaned, immediately clutching his abdomen as hunger clawed at him like a wild beast. His body, despite its god-like durability, still required sustenance—especially after days of intense combat.

With shaking hands, he pulled up his system menu and swiftly purchased five Divine Pellets before stuffing them into his mouth. The moment they hit his tongue, he grimaced, his face twisting in disgust.

"I forgot how absolutely disgusting these things taste," he grumbled, swallowing them quickly to get the ordeal over with. "At least I won't need to eat for a few days now."

With his hunger sated, he finally got back on his feet and started walking aimlessly, his hands tucked behind his head. His mind drifted as he took in his surroundings, letting his thoughts wander freely.

"I guess I killed every demon in the Final Selection," he thought. "Besides the Hand Demon, I doubt there's anyone else left."

As he strolled through the vast forest, he periodically activated his Fiery Eyes, scanning for any traces of demonic presence. However, no matter how many times he checked, he found nothing. The area was eerily silent, the usual lurking presence of demons now nonexistent.

Time passed quickly, and soon, five days had come and gone. The only event of note during that period was his final encounter with the Hand Demon. The battle had been short and one-sided, as expected. Mori had ended it swiftly, collecting 1,500 MCoins in the process.

With the five-day period now over, Mori decided it was time to check on his system's update.

"Status," he called out mentally, and a screen materialized before him.

Mori stared at the update screen, processing the new features.

"Temporary World Travel, huh?" he muttered, rubbing his chin. "That means I can visit another world, but only for a limited time."

As he contemplated which world to visit, his surroundings shifted. The dense forest he had spent days in gradually opened up to a clearing, and in the distance, a Tori gate stood tall. Underneath it were two small girls, standing eerily still as they waited.

Mori snapped out of his thoughts, adjusting his posture as he approached the open area. A group of fewer than forty teens gathered around, all looking exhausted, injured, or barely holding themselves together. Some had bandages wrapped around their limbs, while others had lost body parts entirely. The absence of many others made it painfully clear—many had died during the Final Selection.

The two girls, clad in traditional clothing, finally spoke, their voices calm and composed.

"Congratulations on passing the Final Selection," one of them announced. "From today onward, you are officially Demon Slayers."

The weight of those words settled over the group, and even Mori found himself intrigued.

"There are eleven official ranks in the Demon Slayer Corps. You all will be starting at the bottom, Mizunoto. The ranks, in order, are Mizunoto, Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto, and finally, Kinoe—the highest rank."

As the explanation concluded, the other twin stepped forward.

"Now, please step forward and choose the ore you would like to use for forging your sword. If you wish to request specific details for your weapon, please write down your preferences on the paper to the left."

Mori was the first to step forward. He observed the numerous Scarlet Ores laid out before him, each glowing faintly under the sunlight.

"Tanjiro used his nose to find his, so why can't I use my eyes?" he thought, lifting his eye mask and activating "Fiery Eyes".

His vision became sharper, scanning the ores for the highest concentration of solar energy. Most of them contained traces of the sun's power, but one, in particular, caught his attention—a plain-looking ore on the bottom left. It appeared ordinary, almost like normal iron, yet through his eyes, he saw that it contained the most concentrated Sun Energy of all.

Without hesitation, he picked it up and walked over to the paper, quickly jotting down the specifications he wanted for his weapon. After handing everything over to the twins, he took a step back, watching as the other participants hesitated before finally making their choices.

Once everyone had selected their ore, the twins spoke again.

"Now that everyone has chosen their weapon material, we will move on to your Kasugai Crows."

As soon as the words were spoken, a flock of crows descended from the sky, each bird circling above before perching onto their designated human. Some of the new Demon Slayers recoiled in surprise, while others awkwardly tried to shoo the birds away. Mori, on the other hand, remained still, watching as a black-feathered crow landed gracefully on his shoulder.

The twin girls continued, their expressions unchanging.

"These crows will serve as your companions throughout your journey as Demon Slayers. They can speak, relay information, and scout your surroundings for nearby demons. Please treat them well."

A brief pause followed before the final words were spoken.

"And with that, we officially welcome you to the Demon Slayer Corps."

With the ceremony concluded, the twins turned and left, leaving the new recruits to process everything. Some immediately began making their way home, while others lingered, still coming to terms with what had just transpired.

Mori stood in place for a moment, gazing at the sky.

"A new journey, huh?" he muttered. A small grin crept onto his face.

He could finally go home and sleep.
