Chapter 81: Mr White and Roman
Oscar was in his Mr White Disguise, as next too him was Blake as she was also in hee Disguise, as the [Disguise] skill was working wonder, next too Oscar and Blake was Melanie and Militia, as they were looking at him, as then Oscar saw Roman walk in with his group of whit fang member
Roman looker as he spoke. "So you must Mr White".
Oscar looked as he made smile. "Pleasure too meet a big player' in the underworld".
Roman looked as he spoke. "You are good with your words Mr White".
Blake looked as he spoke. "Do you have it, these dust are not cheep".
Roman chuckled as he spoke. "And you must be his right hand, Emily correct, also yes I have the payment".
Oscar looked as he spoke. "So Mr Roman made you buy fusion dust from us when you could have just stole them".
Roman smirked as he leaned on his cane, tilting his hat slightly. "Oh, believe me, I considered it. But your little operation is making waves, and unlike some of my… less refined associates, I prefer to stay on the good side of rising talent."
Blake—under her alias Emily—crossed her arms. "Smart choice. We don't take kindly to thieves."
Roman chuckled, lighting a cigar. "Coming from someone who used to run with the Fang, that's rich."
Blake's eye twitched slightly, but she kept her composure. Oscar, still in his Mr. White persona, stepped forward. "Flattery aside, you're paying a premium for this deal. That means you either want quality—or you need something that regular dust can't give you."
Roman exhaled a puff of smoke, his smirk widening. "Let's just say I have… big plans. And your little Fusion Dust? It's the perfect wildcard."
Oscar subtly glanced at Melanie and Miltiades, who were watching the exchange with careful eyes. "Fine. Then let's talk business."
As the exchange proceeded, Oscar's mind raced. Roman Torchwick wasn't just buying weapons—he was preparing for something. And if that involved the White Fang… things were about to get messy.
Next Move: Observe, Adapt, and Stay Ahead.
As the deal proceeded, Oscar kept his stance firm, his Mr. White persona fully in control. Blake, or rather Emily, remained silent but watchful as Roman gestured for one of his lackeys to bring in a case. The grunt placed it on the table between them and popped it open, revealing neatly stacked lien cards—Roman's payment.
"Everything's here," Roman said, tapping the side of the case. "Count it if you like, but I'm sure a smart businessman like you already knows I wouldn't shortchange someone with your… reputation."
Oscar smirked beneath his mask but didn't take the bait. Instead, he signaled to Melanie, who stepped forward and quickly checked the case. A brief nod from her confirmed everything was in order.
"Good," Oscar said, motioning to Blake. She reached into her coat and pulled out a small, reinforced briefcase. She placed it on the table and slid it towards Roman. "Your Fusion Dust. Refined, compact, and much stronger than anything on the market."
Roman whistled as he picked up the case. "Oh, now this is a beauty. You sure you kids don't wanna just join my side? I could use talent like yours."
Blake scoffed. "We work for ourselves."
Roman chuckled. "Shame. Smart people like you don't usually last long in this world. Either you get crushed under someone bigger…" He twirled his cane. "Or you become the bigger threat."
Oscar leaned forward slightly. "Funny. That's exactly what I was thinking about you."
Roman's smirk twitched ever so slightly before he laughed, clearly amused but also slightly wary. "Heh. Alright, Mr. White. I like you. Maybe next time, we can have a drink instead of a business deal."
"We'll see," Oscar replied.
As Roman's crew grabbed the case and began to leave, Oscar watched closely. This deal was done, but he knew Roman wasn't the type to just sit on power. He'd use the Fusion Dust for something big. And if it involved the White Fang… Beacon and Vale were in for some serious trouble.
Once the room cleared, Melanie looked at Oscar. "You think he'll keep his word?"
Oscar exhaled, shaking his head. "No. But that's what makes it interesting."
Blake sighed. "Then we better be ready for whatever's coming next."
As they left, Oscar's mind was already planning for the next move. If Roman wanted to play games, then Mr. White was more than ready.
As he walked away, Melanie and Militia waked as they close the door, the room was shown proof, an upgrade Oscar has made too his office after he bought it.
Melanie looked as she smirked looking at him. "They she tracker's in does dust you sold too roman".
Oscar looked at her as he smirk. "Yup, why else do you think I did business with him of all people".
Blake crossed her arms, a smirk forming beneath her own mask. "So you're using Roman to track the White Fang's movements?"
Oscar nodded. "Exactly. Roman's too smart to trust, but he's also greedy enough to take the bait. He won't check for trackers, at least not right away. By the time he realizes, we'll already have mapped out his supply routes and bases."
Miltiades chuckled. "Gotta admit, Mr. White, you play a dangerous game. If Roman finds out…"
Oscar grinned. "Then I'll just remind him why he bought from me instead of stealing. Power talks. And right now, we have more of it than he does."
Blake leaned against the wall, deep in thought. "That still leaves the White Fang. Roman might be predictable, but they're another story. If we track their movements, we'll need a plan to act on that intel."
Oscar sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know. For now, we watch. When the time comes, we make our move."
Melanie smirked. "And if Roman tries anything stupid?"
Oscar's eyes glowed slightly under the dim light, his smirk turning sharper. "Then Mr. White reminds him who's really in charge."
The room fell silent, the weight of their next steps settling in. They weren't just players in Vale's underworld anymore.
They were the ones pulling the strings.
Blake looked as he spoke. "So who is gonna track them"
Oscar looked at him as he spoke. "Just a friend".
Meanwhile one of Oscar Clones, dressed up as his Vigilant identity as the White mask landed in a Police station of Vale, as they were shcoke too the White mask there as he walked too man running the place as he handed him a USB drive.
The police officers in the station immediately reached for their weapons, unsure whether to treat the masked figure as a threat or an ally. The tension in the air was thick until the man in charge, Captain Jiro Takeda, raised his hand to stop them.
Takeda, a grizzled veteran with years of experience dealing with Vale's crime scene, narrowed his eyes at the White Mask. "You've got some nerve walking in here unannounced. What's on the drive?"
White Mask—Oscar's clone—placed the USB on Takeda's desk and leaned in slightly. "Information. Routes, schedules, and locations of the White Fang's latest operations. Consider this a gift."
Takeda picked up the drive, studying it carefully. "And what do you want in return?"
White Mask tilted his head. "Nothing. Just doing my part to keep Vale safe."
The captain scoffed. "Yeah, right. Vigilantes don't work for free."
White Mask chuckled. "I don't need money, Captain. I just want the White Fang and Roman's network to be… handled."
Takeda's eyes flickered with interest. If this information was legit, it could cripple the White Fang's movements in Vale. He sighed, leaning back in his chair. "If this is real, you just made my job a whole lot easier."
"It is real," White Mask said simply. "And you won't have to wait long to see the results."
Without another word, he turned and walked toward the exit.
One of the younger officers muttered, "That was intense…"
Takeda smirked slightly, watching the masked figure vanish into the night. "I don't know who he is… but I think Vale just found itself a real wild card."
"I trust him so you all should also trust him".
They turned there head too the voice, as Oscar clone felt a chill, a knowing chill as it was Penny.
Clone Spoke in his mind. "Shit hope she doesn't find out I am the boss clone, the last month the other clone had Blake as the white cat".
The clone kept his posture steady, not betraying any signs of unease as Penny approached with her usual cheerful yet oddly perceptive demeanor.
Penny beamed as she placed her hands on her hips. "The White Mask has been quite the helpful presence in Vale! I have been following your activities closely!"
The clone internally sighed. Of course, she has…
Takeda raised an eyebrow. "And what makes you so sure we should trust him?"
Penny tilted her head, looking at White Mask with curiosity. "A feeling! Also, my analysis of his past actions suggests a consistent pattern of targeting criminal elements while ensuring minimal collateral damage. He is efficient and tactical, much like a proper Huntsman!"
The clone nodded, playing along. "Glad to know I have a fan."
Penny's eyes sparkled. "Oh, I am more than just a fan! I have been cataloging your movements and attempting to predict your next steps!"
...Great. That sounds both impressive and terrifying.
Takeda, meanwhile, sighed and plugged the USB into his computer. "Fine. We'll check out what you've brought us. But don't expect me to be sending you a thank-you card, White Mask."
The clone chuckled. "Wouldn't dream of it."
As he turned to leave, Penny suddenly called out, "Oh! By the way, have you ever heard of a mysterious figure known as Mr. White?"
The clone stopped mid-step. Oh, crap.
The Clone looked at her as he spoke. "I have but so far he has done nothing illegal he even has documents to seel does Fusion dust, so they is noting I, or the police can do for now".
Penny tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Hmm… that is true! He has operated within legal parameters, though his connections to certain underground elements remain suspicious."
Takeda scoffed. "You mean the guy who suddenly popped up, has influence in the underworld, and yet manages to keep his hands clean? Sounds like a mastermind to me."
The clone shrugged. "Could be. Or maybe he's just a smart businessman who knows how to play by the rules while making a profit."
Penny's eyes narrowed slightly, scanning White Mask with intense curiosity. "You seem rather well-informed about him, White Mask!"
The clone smirked beneath his mask. "I make it my business to know things."
Takeda leaned back in his chair. "Well, if you ever get any real dirt on him, you know where to find me."
The clone nodded and turned to leave again, but Penny called out once more, this time in a more playful tone. "Oh! One more thing, White Mask—have you ever considered getting a sidekick?"
The clone paused, glancing back. "Why?"
Penny grinned brightly. "Because I think I would make an excellent one!"
Internally, the clone was panicking. Oh hell no.
Keeping his voice steady, he responded, "I'll… keep that in mind."
With that, he swiftly exited, feeling Penny's eager gaze on his back the entire way.
As the Clone walker out as he looked at Penny. "Also never gonna happen".
He teleport away using [Shadow Step], as Penny pouted as she spoke. "One day I will see who is under that mask mark my word's".
The clone reappeared in the shadows of an alley, taking a deep breath. That was too close. He couldn't afford to slip up again—not with Penny this persistent. She had a way of making things happen, especially when she set her sights on something.
He knew he had to keep up the charade and not let anyone find out about his real identity—especially Penny. He wasn't just any vigilante; he was Mr. White, and the criminal organization he had carefully crafted needed to remain a secret.
Meanwhile, Penny was still at the station, standing by the window with her arms crossed, staring into the distance. Her pout slowly morphed into a determined expression.
"I'll figure it out... one day." She muttered to herself. "No mask can hide the truth forever."
Her thoughts were interrupted as Takeda walked over, a wry grin on his face. "You and that mask... you sure are obsessed with it."
Penny turned, eyes gleaming with unspoken resolve. "You have no idea, Takeda. It's a challenge, and I love challenges."
Takeda chuckled and shook his head. "You just keep pushing him, don't you?"
"Of course. If he's going to hide behind that mask, I'll be the one to uncover it." She said, her voice filled with determination.
Takeda simply smiled. Penny's pursuit of the masked vigilante was far from over, and now, it seemed, she was more determined than ever to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Back at Oscar's hideout, the real Oscar, along with Blake and the others, continued to prepare for their next move. They had taken a small step toward gaining intel, but Penny's unexpected interest in White Mask could complicate things. Oscar had no doubt his clone had managed to keep his cover for now, but Penny was relentless.
Blake raised an eyebrow as she spoke to Oscar. "You think she'll keep at it?"
Oscar leaned back in his chair, eyes flickering. "She'll keep pushing, but for now, it's just a matter of time. We'll stay ahead of her. For now, the plan continues as normal."
Blake smirked. "I've never seen someone as persistent as Penny."
Oscar shrugged. "She's got her quirks, but she's one of the few who could actually get under my skin." He paused before adding, "But she won't find out who's behind the mask. Not yet, anyway."
He had made sure of that.
