Chapter 84: Oscar Vs Adam Round 2
Oscar then spoke. "This reminds me last y we only thing we are missing".
Everyone ducked as piller was cut, as they saw Adam walk up, as he looked at the group
Oscar looked at Adam as he spoken. "Only thing we were missing was him being a 3rd party".
Adam stepped forward, his sword, the Red Dawn, gleaming ominously in the dim light. His narrowed eyes scanned the group, lingering on Oscar for a moment longer than the others. His dark cloak billowed behind him as he approached, his every step calculated and filled with malice. The White Fang, though now seemingly stunned by the sudden appearance of their leader, still held their ground, uncertain whether to retreat or charge forward.
Oscar took a deep breath, standing tall despite Adam's imposing presence. "I guess this is your grand entrance, Adam," he remarked dryly, not at all phased by the threat the other man presented.
Blake, beside Oscar, clenched her fists, her usual calm demeanor slipping slightly. She had seen Adam before—too many times—and the memories of his cruelty still haunted her. She was ready to jump into action, but Oscar held up a hand, signaling her to stay back for now.
"Adam, what do you want?" Ruby asked, her voice cautious but firm. The team had seen Adam in action before, and they knew better than to underestimate him.
Adam's eyes shifted to Ruby, his lips curling into a sneer. "What do I want? Well, I wanted a little chaos, and I thought I'd take the opportunity to remind you all of just how fragile your little world is. I'm just here to watch it burn." His voice was low, venomous, and full of disdain. "You think you can take down Roman and the White Fang just like that? You're all just pawns in a bigger game."
Oscar's eyes flashed as he spoke again, "That may be true, Adam, but unlike you, we know which side we stand on. And it's not with chaos and destruction."
Adam chuckled darkly, his gaze flicking from one member of the team to the next. "You talk like you've figured it all out. But you're still fighting for a system that's as broken as the ones you despise." He stepped closer, his sword still at the ready. "But don't worry. I'm not here to lecture you. I'm just here for the fun of it."
Oscar narrowed his eyes. "Well, it seems like you're missing the point. You and Roman can play your little games all you want, but you're going to lose. We won't let the White Fang's chaos take control of this city."
Adam grinned, his teeth sharp and feral. "We'll see about that." His voice grew more intense as he continued. "The White Fang is divided, but there's more than one way to make an impact."
Blake spoke up then, her voice steady despite the tension in the air. "I'm not going to let you tear apart everything we've worked for, Adam. Not now, not ever."
He swings his sword they moved out of the way, but Adam only didn't target then, he target Roman and even the white fang, this supires everyone but mostly Blake as she looked at him shocked and confused.
Blake looked as she spoke. "I don't understand Adam, aren't you in the White fang, why are you attacking us and them".
One of the white fang members spoke. "Oh no, he is not part of us, I mean how do you think he got that burn mark on his hand".
Oscar looked as he spoke. "So what are you now".
Adam looked at as he spoken. "I haven't been members of the white fang sense last year, as for now". He charged his semblance. "A Third Party as you said".
As he charged at Oscar as Oscar blocked his attack, as he looked at him. "I haven't forgotten about last year Pine".
Oscar looker as he spoke. "Bring it on Edge lord".
Adam's grin twisted into a snarl as he swung Red Dawn in a wide arc, aiming directly at Oscar. The blade met Oscar's Crimson Fang, the clash of metal ringing through the air as sparks flew from the impact. Oscar gritted his teeth, using his superior agility to shift his stance and push back against Adam's strength.
"I've got more than a year of frustration to unload," Adam growled, his eyes burning with intensity. "You've no idea what I've been through, but it ends now."
Oscar barely had time to respond before Adam surged forward again, his attacks relentless and fast. Oscar danced backward, using his [Agility] skill to stay one step ahead, each movement calculated and precise. He parried another vicious strike, his sword barely deflecting the blow as the force of Adam's strike reverberated through his arms.
"You're just a puppet," Adam spat, his words venomous. "You all are. Fighting for the same broken system, pretending you can make a difference."
Oscar's eyes narrowed, his mind already formulating his next move. "And you? You're just a rogue with a chip on your shoulder, pretending to be something bigger than you are."
Blake, still in the thick of the fight with the White Fang, caught a glimpse of the battle between Oscar and Adam. Her heart raced, knowing that Oscar was up against one of the most dangerous foes they'd faced. Yet, she knew Oscar's determination and ability to handle pressure. She gritted her teeth, knowing she had to focus on her own fight, but she couldn't help but watch for a moment, waiting for the right opportunity to lend her aid.
Adam's eyes flicked back to Oscar, the fury in his gaze only growing. "You have no idea what it's like to be betrayed, to be cast aside by people you trusted. The White Fang turned on me, but I'll make sure I take everything from them."
Oscar parried another brutal slash, his footwork smooth and steady. "That's the problem with you, Adam. You blame everyone else for your problems, but the only one responsible for your actions is you."
Adam's expression darkened, and with a growl, he pushed Oscar back, creating a small distance between them. "You think I care what you say? You think you can lecture me?" He took a deep breath, his semblance flaring to life, his rage intensifying. "It's too late for words. I've already made my choice."
Without warning, Adam dashed forward again, his speed almost blinding as he slashed at Oscar with brutal precision. Oscar quickly summoned his Infernal Edge, matching Adam's speed and power with his own enhanced reflexes. The two blades clashed once more in a symphony of steel, neither side giving an inch.
"I'm going to show you just how different we are," Oscar said, his voice low and unwavering as he locked eyes with Adam.
Adam's sneer remained, but his grip on Red Dawn tightened. "Then prepare to see just how far I'm willing to go."
The battle raged on, the sound of their strikes reverberating through the air as the rest of the group fought off the White Fang, trying to hold the line. Ruby and Weiss continued their skirmish with the remaining grunts, while Blake and Yang worked together to take down any of the more dangerous White Fang members that attempted to attack them.
Oscar and Adam were locked in a dangerous dance of combat, each trying to outmatch the other. Oscar's Crimson Fang was swift, sharp, and precise, cutting through the air like a streak of light, while Adam's Red Dawn was heavy, powerful, and designed to crush. It was a clash of styles, a clash of ideals, and both knew only one would walk away victorious.
Oscar, sweating from the intensity of the battle, finally found his opening. With a swift spin, he brought his blade down toward Adam's exposed side, but Adam anticipated the move, spinning to counter with a slash of his own. The two blades collided once again, but this time, Oscar's Infernal Edge flared brightly, its fiery aura cutting through Adam's stance.
Oscar seized the moment, pressing forward with a series of rapid strikes, forcing Adam back. "You can keep running from the truth, Adam, but you can't outrun your own choices."
Adam's eyes blazed with fury, but for the first time, Oscar saw something else beneath the anger—a hint of doubt.
In that brief moment, Oscar pressed his advantage, his strikes becoming even more forceful, more focused. He wasn't just fighting for himself anymore. He was fighting for everything Adam had forsaken: loyalty, justice, and the people he had once betrayed.
Adam growled, his semblance flaring wildly, but Oscar was already moving, sidestepping Adam's slash and knocking his sword aside. With a final, decisive move, Oscar brought Crimson Fang down on Adam's shoulder, forcing the rogue leader to the ground.
Oscar stood over Adam, his breathing heavy, but his expression stern. "It's over, Adam. You've made your choices, and now you face the consequences."
Blake stepped forward, her voice soft but resolute. "You don't have to keep doing this, Adam. You can still choose to change."
Adam's eyes flickered with something—perhaps regret, perhaps anger—but whatever it was, it was fleeting. With a hiss, he pushed himself up, glaring at Oscar with unrestrained hatred. "This isn't over. You haven't seen the last of me."
Oscar didn't flinch. "Then make sure you're ready for the next time we meet. Because when that happens, I won't show you mercy."
With that, Adam disappeared into the shadows, retreating as quickly as he had come.
Oscar exhaled, his body still tense, ready for anything. But for now, the battle was over. They had won, but they all knew that the fight was far from finished. The White Fang's influence had been severed, but Adam's threat was still looming, and Oscar knew this was only the beginning of a much larger conflict.
Blake looked at Oscar, her eyes filled with a mixture of relief and concern. "That was too close."
Oscar gave her a tired smile. "Yeah, but we're still standing."
"Well, at least we've got Roman and the White Fang out of the picture for now," Ruby said, her voice full of determination. "We'll deal with Adam later. For now, we've won."
Oscar nodded, but his mind was already on what came next. The battle had been won, but the war was far from over.
Oscar then looked at Blake. "Let's Go back too Ruby and other to help with Roman".
They rushed too that place as they saw Yang taking a punch for Sun as she was sent too a Piller, by the punch Paladin, as Oscar looked at the Giant robot as he landed done too Weiss.
Oscar looked at Weiss as he spoke. "So princes wanna do a Icy Plains".
Weiss sighed as she spoke. "How did Ruby even come up with these Team Up Move names, also Yes".
Oscar couldn't help but chuckle at Weiss's exasperation as he looked at the Paladin, its massive mechanical form towering over the battlefield. "I think Ruby's just got a knack for making everything sound like a big spectacle," he said, readying Crimson Fang for the fight ahead. "But I get it. Icy Plains it is."
Blake stood beside him, her own Blake's Gambit drawn, eyes sharp as she surveyed the situation. "Let's make sure this one ends quickly. We don't know how long we have before reinforcements arrive."
Oscar nodded and glanced over at Ruby, who was watching intently, her Crescent Rose aimed at the Paladin. "Ruby, on your mark!"
Ruby gave a nod, her face serious. "Let's do it!"
Oscar turned to Weiss, who was already summoning the familiar power of her Glyphs, preparing for the attack. "Ready?"
Weiss rolled her eyes, though there was a smirk tugging at her lips. "Just try to keep up, farm boy."
Without another word, they moved as one. Oscar dashed forward with impressive speed, using Shadow Travel to cut through the battlefield with ease, his blade a blur as it met with the Paladin's defenses. Blake followed suit, flanking from the left, her precise strikes aiming at weak spots in the Paladin's joints. Together, they kept the massive machine distracted, leaving the rest to Ruby and Weiss.
As Ruby and Weiss coordinated their attack, Weiss raised her rapier, summoning a massive Ice Glyph beneath her feet, launching herself into the air as she swirled her weapon. A torrent of icy wind enveloped her, creating a blizzard around the Paladin, slowing it down.
"Now!" Weiss shouted.
Ruby, taking her cue, activated her Semblance, blurring through the air with tremendous speed. With a single well-aimed shot, she launched Crescent Rose's deadly scythe blade, spinning through the Icy Plains that Weiss had created, sending a barrage of frozen ice shards toward the Paladin's exposed joints.
Oscar smirked, seeing their opening. "Perfect."
He leapt into the air, charging a Fire Ball in his free hand, and with a yell, hurled it directly at the Paladin's chest. The explosion of heat and fire mixed with the ice, causing steam to billow out, creating a volatile reaction that rocked the Paladin.
Blake used the moment of distraction to deliver a powerful kick to one of the Paladin's legs, causing it to stagger. Oscar took the opportunity to deliver a swift slash to its core, sending a shockwave through the machine, rattling it and damaging its internal systems.
The Paladin staggered back, its movements now sluggish as it struggled to maintain its balance.
"Come on!" Ruby shouted. "We've got it on the ropes!"
Oscar nodded and shouted, "Everyone, on three—ONE, TWO, THREE!"
In unison, the team launched their final attack. Weiss launched an Ice Pillar, pinning the Paladin's arms in place, while Ruby used her Semblance to rush in, slashing and shooting with precision, her shots making direct contact with the core.
Oscar and Blake followed up with their own deadly attacks, Fire Ball and Crimson Fang striking the Paladin simultaneously.
With a final, deafening crash, the Paladin collapsed, sparks flying out from its exposed circuits as it fell to the ground, its power source completely fried.
Ruby sighed in relief, wiping the sweat from her brow. "That was way more work than I thought it'd be."
Weiss, breathing heavily but satisfied with their victory, gave Ruby a pointed look. "Maybe we should focus less on names and more on planning next time."
Oscar chuckled. "I think I'm just as confused as Weiss on that one. But we did it." He looked over to Yang, who was getting up, brushing herself off after taking a heavy punch for Sun. "You okay, Yang?"
Yang grinned through her bruises. "Never better. That big guy didn't know what hit him." She looked at the others. "But seriously, thanks for the help. That Paladin almost had us."
Sun, catching up with the group, added, "No kidding. I thought we were done for when it came charging at us like that."
Oscar gave them all a nod. "Glad we could pull through. Now, what about Roman?"
Ruby raised an eyebrow. "Isn't he the guy you were talking about earlier? The one in charge of all this dust robbery stuff?"
Oscar nodded, his expression turning serious again. "That's him. Roman Torchwick. He's been the one pulling the strings on all this, and we still need to figure out what he's planning."
Weiss sighed, adjusting her sword. "Let's not waste any more time. We should wrap this up and get him before he slips through our fingers again."
Oscar agreed. "Agreed. But we need to be careful—he's not going to go down easily."
As the team regrouped, the tension was palpable. They knew Roman's operations were far from over, and their victory here was just another small step in a much larger game. Oscar couldn't help but feel the weight of what was to come, but he also knew one thing for sure: they were a team, and together, they could handle anything.
Ruby smiled at everyone. "Let's finish this. For good."
