Shinigami: Medicine Can't Save The Soul Reaper Society

Chapter 206: Chapter 207: Her Disciple

Despite his dire condition, Byakuya's gaze remained fixed in the direction of Kōga. His voice trembled with fury as he growled:

"Kuchiki Koga, release Father and Makoto immediately, or you'll regret it for the rest of your life..."

Kōga sneered dismissively, his tone dripping with mockery.

"Oh, how ironic! The esteemed heir of the Kuchiki Clan reduced to issuing powerless threats while groveling on the ground? Such a spectacle is truly laughable. Empty words from the mighty Kuchiki heir carry no weight!"

Even as he mocked Byakuya, Kōga refrained from killing Sōjun and Byakuya, the direct heirs of the family. Instead, his gaze shifted to Makoto, who was being restrained by Muramasa. With a sly smile, Kōga addressed him.

"Makoto, don't worry. I'll only need your company for a little while."

The Kuchiki estate was surrounded by a barrier that suppressed spiritual pressure, but Kōga, sensing his time was limited, did not delay further. He opened a Senkaimon behind him and, accompanied by Muramasa, Senbonzakura, and Makoto, disappeared into the Dangai.

"Kuchiki Sōjun, Kuchiki Byakuya, if you wish for Makoto's safety, relay my message to Captain-Commander Yamamoto. Do not attempt to pursue me."

As Kōga's words echoed, the closing Senkaimon gradually obscured their figures until they vanished completely from Byakuya's sight.

"Damn it! Argh!"

Byakuya slammed his fist against the ground in frustration before dragging himself towards the critically wounded Sōjun, trying desperately to staunch the bleeding.

Sōjun, having been stabbed multiple times by Kōga, was drenched in blood. His pale face and lifeless body betrayed the fact that he had already succumbed to unconsciousness.

Just as Byakuya's own strength faltered and darkness threatened to claim him, he caught sight of several Sixth Division officers rushing towards him.

"Lord Byakuya! Lord Sōjun!"

"What happened here?!"

"Hurry! Get them both to the Fourth Division for treatment!"

---

Meanwhile, the incident at the Kuchiki estate was exposed after three shinigami from the First Division were found dead, their bodies pinned to the wall in a grotesque display of brutality. News of Kōga's jailbreak, the murder of comrades, the attack on the Kuchiki family, and the abduction of the Fourth Division's Vice-Captain, Senju Makoto, spread like wildfire.

---

The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the tranquil courtyard of Unohana's quarters. Hearing the commotion, Unohana instinctively thought of her foolish disciple, Makoto.

"Has he returned?"

A soft smile appeared on her face but quickly vanished as she composed herself, prepared to reprimand him for his recklessness. However, something felt off.

The pace of the footsteps was wrong, as was the fluctuation of spiritual pressure.

The sliding doors burst open, revealing Aoki Risa and Isane Kotetsu, both panting heavily and with tear-streaked faces.

"Captain! Something terrible has happened! Vice-Captain Senju—Makoto—has been abducted!"

Their anxious voices overlapped, and Unohana's expression froze. The flower she had been delicately holding between two fingers snapped in half.

In the next moment, a terrifying wave of crimson spiritual pressure erupted from her, radiating an ominous, suffocating aura.

Her usually gentle eyes darkened, her expression transforming into something grim and menacing. Picking up her zanpakutō, she stepped towards Risa and Isane, her voice cold and composed.

"Who took my disciple?"

Isane swallowed hard, struggling to remain composed under the oppressive aura.

"Kōga Kuchiki! We just received confirmation from Kuchiki Byakuya at the Fourth Division. He claimed Kōga kidnapped Vice-Captain Senju and escaped through a Senkaimon to the Humam World to avoid pursuit."

Upon hearing this, Unohana remained silent, her grip on her zanpakutō tightening unconsciously. She strode past Risa and Isane, heading outside.

A gust of night wind rustled her captain's haori, making the large "四" character on her back seem as though it were bleeding, staining the fabric crimson. The two blinked, and the horrifying illusion dissipated as quickly as it had appeared.

A hell butterfly arrived at that moment, landing on Unohana's shoulder to deliver its message. Without a word, she pointed her finger at the butterfly.

"Hado #4: Byakurai."

A streak of white lightning disintegrated the butterfly into ashes. Her lips curled slightly, and she uttered a cold, defiant response to the unseen sender.

"I refuse."

Moments later, Captains Shunsui Kyōraku and Jūshirō Ukitake appeared, stepping in front of Unohana to block her path.

"Oh dear, it seems the First Kenpachi is in an unusually foul mood tonight," Kyōraku quipped in a playful tone, trying to diffuse the tension.

However, when he caught sight of Unohana's terrifying expression, his smile wavered, and he muttered to himself.

"This is bad. Looks like the old man's given us a real headache this time."

Unafraid, Unohana's voice dripped with icy menace.

"Step aside, or I'll carve you into ninety pieces before Kōga meets his end."

Kyōraku chuckled nervously, drawing his zanpakutō and releasing it immediately, not daring to take any chances. Inwardly, he cursed Kōga's recklessness.

Kidnapping Byakuya would have been a manageable crisis. But Kōga had made the catastrophic mistake of targeting Makoto, someone Yamamoto himself regarded highly.

To Kyōraku, Makoto wasn't just a promising healer but the only person capable of easing Unohana's bloodlust. By taking Makoto, Kōga had effectively unleashed the beast within Unohana, leaving the entire Seireitei to deal with the consequences.

"That idiot doesn't even realize the gravity of what he's done," Kyōraku thought bitterly, his grip on his zanpakutō tightening.
