Chapter 154: Chapter 98.3: The Purest Ōtsutsuki Bloodline

The vial was placed in a slot at the top of the chamber. As the indicator light activated, the genetic material dispersed rapidly, entering Chu Yang's body.

The chamber was soon enveloped in a crystalline mist. Outside, the shadow clones began vanishing one by one, seemingly attacked by an unknown force.

The lab grew eerily quiet.

Inside the chamber, red warning lights flashed as an alarm blared.

The mist turned blood-red, swirling chaotically before being abruptly sucked back into the chamber.

As the mist cleared, Chu Yang's transformed figure emerged. He now looked like a man in his late twenties, with white hair replacing his previous black.

His body had become more muscular, exuding a terrifying aura.

Suddenly, Chu Yang opened his eyes. His pupils were no longer black but pure white, with faint golden hues at their depths.

Then his eyes changed again, displaying concentric spirals with tomoe-like black dots fading in and out.

"Are these Rinnegan, Tenseigan, or perhaps both?" Chu Yang mused, intrigued by the immense power he felt, especially in the domain of space-time.

Thanks to the genetic material, Chu Yang was now the most Ōtsutsuki-like being alive, potentially surpassing even Kaguya.

His new abilities were full of unknown possibilities.

"No wonder so many are drawn to the thrill of power. The feeling of holding everything in your hands is truly intoxicating."

Smiling faintly, Chu Yang clenched his fists and activated Sage Mode. A golden chakra cloak formed around him, radiating immense energy.

The genetic infusion had exceeded expectations, making his Six Paths Sage Mode even more formidable than anticipated.

"With this power, I might even rival the Sage of Six Paths himself…"

Chu Yang smiled in satisfaction, deactivated Sage Mode, and entered another room filled with equipment.

In the center stood nine massive glass tanks containing portions of the chakra from each of the nine tailed beasts, with sealing arrays etched on the bases of the tanks.

This was the cultivation chamber for the Ten-Tails.

The Ten-Tails was the embodiment of the Divine Tree. To obtain the fruit of the Divine Tree, Chu Yang had to resurrect the Ten-Tails. However, unlike Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, he had no intention of turning the planet beneath his feet into its nourishment.

He didn't plan to become the world's enemy, especially not to stand against Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha.

Summoning a shadow clone, Chu Yang resumed his earlier work, and the lab once again buzzed with activity.

---

"This morning, a demon-level monster was sighted in the city. All residents are urged to evacuate immediately and seek refuge in other cities."

Chu Yang, who was about to leave for work, froze as he stared at the news broadcast on TV.

Since arriving in this world, Chu Yang had spent nearly every day in fear.

The terror of monster attacks never ceased—one day destroying a district, the next slaughtering civilians.

The daily death toll reported on the news constantly rattled Chu Yang's nerves, reminding him that he could be the next victim.

His darkest moment of despair came one morning at work when he learned that a colleague had died in a monster attack.

She had been a girl with a beautiful smile.

The night before, they had been out drinking together.

She was kind and gentle, often encouraging Chu Yang to face the world positively despite his inner pessimism.

He had even imagined what it might be like to date her someday.

But then...

The tragic news nearly shattered Chu Yang's fragile mental state.

"If only I had been with her during the attack, we could have left this wretched world together."

This thought etched itself deeply into Chu Yang's mind.

Being thrust into this world filled him with an overwhelming sense of helplessness.

What can I do? What's the point of living in such a world?

Putting down his briefcase, Chu Yang also abandoned the idea of fleeing with the crowd.

After confirming the monster's location on TV, he left his apartment alone.

Rather than living in constant fear, he chose to decide how he would die.

---

On the streets, people fled with their families, some by car, others on foot, all trying to get as far away as possible from the monster's reported location.

Chu Yang moved against the tide of people, like a lone rock defying the current.

A well-meaning passerby, assuming Chu Yang was too frightened to think straight, grabbed his arm and said, "Young man, you're heading the wrong way! There's a demon-level monster up ahead!"

Chu Yang gently pushed the man's hand away, nodded in gratitude, and disappeared into the crowd.

Watching Chu Yang's retreating figure, the passerby seemed to understand something, his expression turning somber.

As Chu Yang continued, the number of people around him dwindled.

By the time he reached what used to be the bustling park, he was utterly alone.

The city had become eerily silent, as though it were already dead.

---

"Mama... Mama..."

The sound of crying drew Chu Yang's attention. At the park entrance, a little boy stood beside his mother, who was sitting on the ground in pain.

The woman clutched her bruised and swollen leg, seemingly broken during the chaotic evacuation, rendering her unable to move.

As the crowd disappeared into the distance, despair filled her face.

Chu Yang paused, lost in thought.

Should he go after the demon-level monster or help this mother and child escape?

"Even if I help them, they won't get far. In the end, the monster will catch up and kill them anyway. What's the point?"

With this in mind, Chu Yang resumed walking, emotionlessly bypassing the mother and child.

"Big brother, don't go that way! There's a monster—it'll kill you!"

The little boy ran to Chu Yang, clutching his pant leg as he cried incoherently.

"You… aren't here to ask for my help?" Chu Yang asked, surprised.

"Mom said you can't help us alone and told me not to burden you. She told me to tell you to leave quickly!"

The boy bit his lip, trying to suppress his sobs, though he didn't want to leave.

Instinctively, he tightened his grip on Chu Yang's pants, making it clear he desperately wanted help.

Eventually, the boy let go, silently watching Chu Yang walk away.

Just as Chu Yang was about to disappear from the boy's sight, he stopped, turned back, and without a word, hoisted the woman onto his back.

"Hurry up! The monster's coming!"

Hearing Chu Yang's urgency, the boy was overjoyed and nodded quickly. His mother, slung over Chu Yang's back, kept thanking him profusely.

Chu Yang didn't respond. Gathering all his strength, he ran as fast as he could.

---

But he was just an ordinary man.

Before long, he was out of breath, his pace slowing with each step.

Eventually, they arrived at a crossroads—only to be met by the demon-level monster.

Faced with death, Chu Yang was calmer than he had expected, while the woman on his back trembled violently.

The sound of her teeth chattering echoed in his ears.

The little boy was petrified, his face blank with terror.

Standing before them was a grotesque creature covered in black armor, resembling a moth. It gazed mockingly at Chu Yang.

"I've been following you the whole time," it said. "I wanted to see you struggle for survival. Thanks to you, it was quite entertaining. If I get the chance, I'd love to watch again."

Setting the woman down, Chu Yang instructed her, "I know you're in pain and can't move, but if you want your child to live, you'll have to try anyway."

With that, Chu Yang walked alone toward the moth-like monster.

The woman, understanding his intent to buy them time with his life, wept as she pulled her child and fled in the opposite direction.

The monster, amused, made no attempt to stop them. Instead, it feigned curiosity and asked, "What's the point of what you're doing? Do you really think you can stop me?"

Chu Yang loosened his tie, wrapping it around his hand, then lit a cigarette. Only then did he reply, "I already said it's meaningless. But before I die, I want to ask you something."

"Ask away," the monster replied with a grin, intrigued by the unusual human.

"Two months ago, did you encounter a girl around here?"

"A girl? Hmm... Oh! Now I remember. Yeah, there was a girl. I was in a good mood that day, just wandering around. At some point, I bumped into something. Turned out it was a person…"

The monster burst into laughter. "She was so weak, like an ant. I didn't even notice her. It was just a casual bump, but she died from it. Hahaha!"

"I see," Chu Yang muttered. He extinguished his cigarette underfoot and charged at the monster.

The moth-like creature lazily scratched its head and swatted Chu Yang aside with a casual wave.

Chu Yang's body slammed into a car, denting the door and shattering the windows.

"Ha! Did you really think you were a hero?" the monster sneered.

"Well then… 'hero,' I'm off to find that mother and child. Stay here and wait to die."

Listening to the monster's mocking words, Chu Yang coughed up blood, his vision dimming.

He didn't know how much time passed before he heard someone calling him.

"Hey, rookie! Still sleeping here?"

"Get up, it's time for the meeting!"
