Chapter 160: Chapter 100.3: Prelude to War, the Deal Between Chu Yang and Odin!
It was a win-win. After all, Asgard held many treasures, not least its vast library of magic and technology.
Odin laughed heartily, winking at Frigga, his regal demeanor entirely gone.
Frigga shook her head in exasperation. Since Chu Yang didn't mind, she let it be.
Leaving another kunai behind, Chu Yang formed seals under their watchful gaze and vanished abruptly.
"He teleported just like that?" Odin exclaimed, wide-eyed. "I didn't sense any magical energy. How did he do it?"
Frigga was equally baffled.
Odin stared thoughtfully at the odd kunai in his hand. "I think I've found something very interesting…"

Earth.
In the dark night sky, a bolt of lightning streaked across the heavens.
Thor descended with the lightning, landing atop a plane. At the controls was Natasha Romanoff, the "Black Widow."
Inside the cabin, Steve Rogers, "Captain America," and Tony Stark, "Iron Man," were locked in a heated argument.
The newly formed Avengers had recently captured Loki, but the Cosmic Cube was still missing.
To uncover the Cube's location, they planned to transport Loki to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s helicarrier.
On the way, however, Steve expressed doubts about how easily Loki had been caught, while Tony dismissed his concerns with a few sarcastic remarks.
Their disagreement escalated into a full-blown argument until Natasha noticed Thor's arrival.
"Now's not the time to fight. Open the hatch. I'll go check it out," Tony said, donning his helmet as he headed for the door.
But before the hatch could open fully, Thor was already there, smiling warmly. "You must be Tony! I've heard Yang—"
Before he could finish, a powerful energy beam slammed into him, sending him flying.
Steve was stunned. "It seemed like he knew you…"
"Like hell he does!" Tony spat angrily. "A damn alien kidnapper? I'll beat the crap out of him today!"
With that, he fired up his suit's thrusters to maximum and rocketed out of the cabin.
Loki, watching the chaos, grinned and whistled. "I'm starting to like that tin can!"
Steve was puzzled and asked, "Can someone tell me why he's so angry?"
"Captain, you're new, so you don't know. Tony had a friend who was taken away by this 'god' and hasn't returned yet," Natasha explained through the comms.
Hearing the apologetic tone in her voice, Steve asked curiously, "Do you know this friend of his?"
Natasha took a deep breath and gave a bitter smile. "To be precise, I also bear some responsibility for this matter."
"I recall Stark refused to join the Avengers Initiative because of that friend, didn't he?" Steve suddenly remembered a scene where he saw Tony furiously arguing with Nick Fury, seemingly mentioning someone's name.
Natasha nodded. "That's correct."
"Understood. That must be a very important friend." Steve picked up a nearby parachute and slowly walked to the cabin door.
Natasha asked in surprise, "Captain, what are you doing?"
"Stopping Stark from doing something foolish!" Steve's gaze deepened. "I once had a very important friend. Losing him left me feeling hopeless, so I can understand how Stark feels now."
"But in the current situation, we can't afford to create more potential enemies. Although I still don't know the purpose of this person coming to Earth..."
With that, Steve leapt out of the cabin door, his figure quickly disappearing into the thick clouds.
Natasha sighed helplessly and activated the comms to send a distress signal to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. "The one codenamed 'Thor' has appeared. His attitude is unclear, and Tony Stark has initiated an attack. The captain jumped out to stop his reckless behavior."
Moments later, the comms emitted static, followed by Nick Fury's voice with just one question.
"Where's Chu Yang?"
"Not seen."
A heavy sigh followed, indicating Fury's frustration.
Although he had already explained to Tony that Chu Yang was not in danger, Tony's patience had been wearing thin due to his prolonged absence. If Chu Yang didn't reappear soon, it was only a matter of time before Tony quit the Avengers.

Elsewhere, Tony and Thor landed in a forest, the atmosphere tense.
Thor raised his hands and quickly said, "Hey! Calm down. I know you're anxious, but listen to me first."
Tony also raised his hand but didn't respond. Instead, energy began charging in his palm again.
"What a hothead!" Thor muttered under his breath, unable to suppress his frustration anymore. Gripping Mjolnir, he summoned lightning.
In the next instant, two beams of light collided fiercely, illuminating the sky and earth!
The dazzling light was blinding, causing Thor to instinctively turn his head.
Tony, protected by his Iron Man suit, charged forward without hesitation and kicked Thor in the face.
"Damn it!" Thor cursed in pain. Stabilizing himself, he swung his hammer in return, sending Tony flying. His suit's alarms blared immediately.
Just as their fight escalated, Steve descended from above, using his shield to separate the two.
"I hope you both can calm down," Steve said, looking intently at Tony. "Especially you, Tony Stark. I understand how you feel, but worsening the situation won't help. Even if you defeat him here, it doesn't mean your friend will come back."
Tony ignored Steve and turned to Thor, grabbing his collar. "I'll ask you once, big guy. Where did you take Yang?"
Thor, equally defiant, grabbed Tony's mechanical arm, causing sparks to fly. After pushing it aside, he replied, "Due to special circumstances, Asgard's Bifrost Bridge was destroyed, so Yang was stranded there."
"He's been studying magic every day and is doing well. Don't worry. He was supposed to return with me, but Father couldn't transport two people at once, so I came to Earth first."
Tony's tone darkened. "Why wasn't he sent back first?"
Thor replied coldly, "Because I needed to return to deal with Loki and the Tesseract. If left unchecked, that guy would wreak havoc!"
Steve interjected at the right time. "So, you're here to stop Loki, not to oppose us."
Thor pushed Tony aside and said matter-of-factly, "Of course. Why would I be your enemy? This is Chu Yang's home. He's my good friend, and my mother likes him a lot. She taught him a great deal of magic."
Steve and Tony exchanged glances, and the former spoke first, "You heard his explanation. Let's not escalate this further."
Tony snorted and activated his suit, flying into the sky and disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Steve shook his head helplessly and pressed his comms. "Natasha, come pick me up."

The next day.
On an African savanna, a group of hyenas surrounded a lioness. She appeared emaciated and weak, likely having just given birth, with a tiny cub beneath her frail body.
Chu Yang appeared out of thin air, landing right in the middle of the standoff.
The hyenas barked furiously at the uninvited guest, while the lioness eyed him warily.
Frowning, Chu Yang raised his hand, releasing lightning from the void, instantly striking down most of the hyenas.
The survivors let out short, fearful howls before retreating with their tails between their legs.
Chu Yang sighed.
The Flying Thunder God Technique indeed had no distance limitations, but compared to Asgard's teleportation magic, it still had drawbacks. For extremely long distances, there was a delay or "time cost."
Chu Yang had arrived several hours after Thor. Moreover, such long-range teleportation consumed an enormous amount of chakra. Just traveling from Asgard to Earth had depleted nearly two-thirds of his reserves—despite his tailed beast-level chakra.
Still, compared to Odin's magic, the Flying Thunder God Technique remained far more cost-effective.
"Let's head back to Stark Tower," Chu Yang muttered. As he prepared to use Apparition, he felt something tugging at his pants.
Looking down, he saw the tiny lion cub. It seemed hungry or trying to convey something.
Picking it up by the scruff, Chu Yang approached the lioness and discovered she had quietly passed away, likely due to blood loss from the hyena attack.
The cub whimpered, licking Chu Yang's palm, oblivious to its mother's death.
After a moment of silence, Chu Yang sighed. "Not sure if you're lucky or unlucky to have met me."
He tucked the cub inside his coat lining, deciding to take it along. Leaving it on the savanna was a death sentence.
Reciting the Apparition spell, Chu Yang vanished with the cub, reappearing moments later in his familiar lab.
Before he could catch his breath, the sound of explosions shook the air.
Opening the window, he saw the sky swarming with Chitauri, resembling locusts.
"Well, talk about timing..." Chu Yang muttered, setting the cub inside a reinforced metal compartment. Patting its head, he said, "Don't wander off. I'd hate to have an extra course for dinner."
The cub rubbed against his ankle, oblivious to his dark humor.
Chu Yang chuckled, closed the door, and ascended to the rooftop, just as a whale-like Chitauri ship flew past.
Spotting him, the Chitauri soldiers leaped down excitedly, only to be cut down by twin wooden swords conjured from his Wood Release.
On the battlefield below, the Avengers noticed the bisected Chitauri ship.
"Do we have reinforcements?" Tony asked.
"No idea," Steve replied, equally confused.
"Someone's on Stark Tower," Clint said, squinting to see the figure on the rooftop.
"Jarvis, who's on the tower?" Tony asked.
"It's Yang," Jarvis confirmed.
Tony laughed and whistled. "Guys, my assistant's back! Let's wrap this up—I owe him a party."
As the team fought on, Chu Yang entered Six Paths Sage Mode, creating a massive army of shadow clones, each radiating tailed beast energy. The clones spread out, overwhelming the Chitauri.
From the helicarrier, Nick Fury watched the unfolding scene with relief, using it to halt the council's nuclear strike decision.
Staring at Chu Yang, he muttered, "Just don't become the next threat…"
