Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 521: 520: Goliathspawns

"I know you might be wondering why this danger zone is called The Shattered Sea, but guess what?... I also have no idea why."

After expressing his desire to learn more about the danger zone called the Shattered Sea, these were the first words that were spoken by Ryan, and Corey's fingers could not help but twitch in annoyance and anger.

His annoyance and anger increased when he saw the annoying smirk on Ryan's face, and just like he usually felt around Divine, he felt like beating the shit out of Ryan.

Ryan could vividly perceive Corey's anger and annoyance but he didn't care. In fact, he was enjoying himself.

He chuckled softly with a smile, and then he continued speaking.

"Although I don't know why the Shattered Sea is called the 'Shattered' Sea since it's clearly not shattered, what I do know is that the Shattered Sea is a vast, unending sea that has two opposing forces."

Ryan kicked his legs slightly, and with a soft groan, he jumped to the ground. He turned, and then he waved his right hand.

"Follow me. Let's go to the edge so that we can get a better view of the Shattered Sea."

Without waiting for a response from Corey, Ryan started walking. Corey stared at him with his pure white eyes for a few seconds, and then he followed him.

As they walked, Corey observed his environment, and when he did, he noticed that it was somewhat similar to the Primal Expanse. He was surrounded by rocks, hills, and boulders.

A slightly surprised expression appeared on his face when he saw some caves in the distance. However, despite the surprise he felt, his expression was mainly stoic because he could sense numerous Outsiders and even Tainteds observing them.

"Ignore all of them. I'm the strongest here, and none of them would try to attack us."

Ryan's voice flowed into his ears, and Corey glanced at him but didn't say a word. A few seconds passed, and Ryan continued speaking.

"The Shattered Sea has an interesting history and folklore."

"It's said that the Shattered Sea was formed during an ancient war between two Old Ones who embodied opposing elements, one of purity and creation, and the other of corruption and destruction."

"The war ended in a stalemate, and the energies used by the Old Ones were so massive and potent that they forever altered this very part of the shattered dimension. Not only did they alter the part of the shattered dimension, their energies sealed each other in perpetual conflict which then led to the creation of the Shattered Sea."

"It is believed that at the top of the Eternal Waterfall is a fragment of the combined power of the Old Ones. It's believed that this power is capable of granting one dominion over both creation and destruction."

"Despite these tales, few who try to obtain the power at the top of the Eternal Waterfall ever return, and those that do return end up living a terrible life or they either kill themselves."

"On one side of the Shattered Sea is pure, glistening water which is imbued with icy energy that chills the air and freezes Tier 0s, Tier 1s, and even Tier 2s that get too close to it… Well, as long as the Tier 2 is not as talented as you."

Ryan shrugged nonchalantly.

"On the other side of the Shattered Sea, the water is murky, blackened, and steaming. It also carries the overwhelming heat of corruption and decay."

"I'm guessing you saw it when you went high up into the air… The two seas clash endlessly at the centre, creating massive waves that rise high into the sky. Yet, no matter how violently they meet, they never mix."

"The boundary between them is sharp and absolute as if governed by an unseen, supreme law."

Corey furrowed his brows slightly when he heard Ryan's last words that were spoken softly. Ryan turned and glanced at him with a smile before looking away.

"The sea that contains pure, glistening, and icy energy is called the Water of Purity. Meanwhile, the murky, blackened, and steaming water that contains the heat of corruption and decay is called the Water of Calamity."

"Since you don't know much about the Shattered Sea and you also came at a relatively safe period, then you would most likely not know about the abominations that reside in the depths of the Water of Calamity."

Corey tilted his head with a slightly baffled and slightly intrigued expression. "What's so special about those abominations?"

"Well, there's nothing really that special about them… It's just that whenever a strange song called the Song of The Queen resounds across the Shattered Sea, the Shattered Sea becomes extremely turbulent and dangerous."

"Titanic waves that could even drown some Goliathspawns would form. The Goliathspawns become aggressive, and worst of all, the abominations of the Water of Calamity rise from the depth of the water."

"The Goliathspawns and the abominations all go to the centre, and then a brutal, deadly, and vicious battle occurs between the Goliathspawns and the abominations at the centre of the Shattered Sea."

"I've only witnessed one of these battles before, and I had to run for my life because of how dangerous it was… Thousands of monsters that are at least Tier 4 would battle and kill each other… Surviving in such an environment is not easy at all."

Ryan shivered slightly as he recalled his first ever battle between Goliathspawns and Abominations. Meanwhile, Corey had a frown on his face after hearing Ryan's words.

He glanced at the colossal waterfall he could see from anywhere, and then he shifted his gaze back at Ryan.

"What are Goliathspawns?"

"Huh?"

Ryan glanced at Corey with a baffled expression, but a second later, he slapped his forehead with an expression of realization.

"I forgot that you don't know anything about the Shattered Sea." He muttered with a soft sigh.

"You're standing on a Goliathspawn." Explore new worlds at empire

Ryan gestured at the rocky ground, and Corey followed his gesture. Ryan's hands moved, and he gestured at the other massive beasts he could see slowly walking around or standing still.

"All of these beasts you see are Goliathspawns, and they're usually harmless unless provoked. So please, try not to provoke them."

Ryan smiled lightly.
