Chapter 17: Primordial Red Moon
Owen then got out of the passenger seat saying, "brother Enzo, sit in the front, I'll be in the back!"
He let him in when he said that.
Enzo nodded lightly, stepping into that front seat.
They were being polite to him, he naturally accepted their politeness by telling him to sit in the front.
Not long after, the car started driving towards the city center.
"Brother Enzo, have you had dinner yet? If not, we can find a restaurant first, I'll treat you," James said.
"I just had dinner at home," Enzo replied.
"Let's go somewhere else. Do you know a shop to sell Awakener items, I want to sell some things," he added.
He planned to sell the Crocodile Morph Bangle as well as the two Life Cores in his hand.
The former he was selling because he did not want to become a crocodile while the Life Core would not be hard to find so he wanted to turn the two in his hand into money first.
Perhaps he would sell the skill to walk on water as well.
All that mattered to him was the Rune of Defense and the Monster Seal. He wouldn't sell them no matter what. Maybe if he was lucky, he could get a unique monster to keep as a pet.
"There are many Awakener shops, but only one is open at night, we can only go there," said James.
"Alright, we'll go there," Enzo replied.
Although he could sell the items through the marketplace, the process would be longer and right now he wanted to exchange the items quickly.
James nodded before driving to the biggest street in Vera City.
When he reached the road, he stepped on the gas pedal without holding back and the car accelerated to a speed of almost 200 KM per hour.
The car's exhaust roared uncontrollably while the way she drove was extremely dangerous for others.
Being an Awakener, it was hard for anyone not to be arrogant.
"Brother Enzo, did you just awaken today?" asked James suddenly. "Just now my younger brother informed me that an ordinary man managed to awaken. I asked for his picture and it turned out to be you. It's only today and you've already become stronger than any of us in over a week, it's really amazing..."
Asked about this, Enzo smiled slightly. He was not surprised that others knew because his identity must have spread in the small circle of the elites.
Most probably didn't think much of it, but James and Owen saw his strength so they thought differently.
"I did just awaken today. It's just that, I was quite lucky because when I just arrived in the Primordial World, I immediately got the chance to attack a Level 5 Monster suddenly. That gave me a lot of Attribute Points which allowed me to improve even faster afterwards," he said, not feeling that a story like this needed to be hidden.
"Hahaha, it must also be because your Innate Skill is so outstanding. If it were me, I'm afraid I wouldn't succeed even if there was such an opportunity." James laughed.
Enzo didn't say anything about this because he would never speak what his Innate Skill was.
Not long after, James drove his car to a large shop that was formally similar to a car dealership except that its entire glass facade was dark black so that from the outside people could not see inside.
The courtyard was huge, enough to accommodate up to a hundred cars.
Being in the city center, a store having a courtyard of this size could be considered a waste of land.
Unfortunately, it was necessary for the convenience of customers when parking their vehicles.
When he arrived in front of this shop, James drove more carefully. Even the sound of his car's exhaust suddenly became so quiet that it was almost silent.
He seemed to be aware that there was a customer coming to this shop that he could not offend.
Primordial Red Moon, that was the name of this shop.
"Brother Enzo, this shop is also the largest in our Vera City. The owner is an extremely powerful Awakener... No Awakeners dare to create chaos here and they are very trustworthy. If we sell goods, it is guaranteed that no information about us will leak out. Their reputation is well known among the Awakeners." James explained.
Enzo hadn't heard of this shop, but this was the first time he had seen it in person.
"Then let's go down," he said.
"Okay!" James nodded.
The three of them got out of the car. Maybe it was because it was night, so there weren't many visitors to this shop.
Of course, not all of them were Awakeners. Many of those who came were just ordinary people who bought items from the Primordial World to increase their chances of awakening.
When the Awakeners hid their auras, no one would be able to detect each other, so no one could be sure which of these guests were Awakeners.
The shop had many doors but they were small. The doors opened by themselves when someone arrived in front of them.
Enzo, James, and Owen immediately entered the store which was very cool inside with an area that was hard to predict.
Enzo couldn't help but be mesmerized as the shop was so luxurious with a transparent silver-colored floor that reflected the shadows of the people on it.
It had rows of tables that were topped with light domes that were so dense that they became glass-like.
Various items lay on those tables, from rows of small books, namely Skill Books, various items that Enzo had no idea what they were.
On the walls, there were weapons hanging, from swords, spears, to armor that seemed to be alive.
"So many treasures, why go to the Primordial World to look for treasures if we can find them here," Owen said suddenly with a mesmerized expression.
He also seemed to be coming to this shop for the first time.
James rolled his eyes at his words, patting his shoulder.
"Dude, say that if you have enough Life Cores exchanged for 100 Million Dollars... Here, even if you have money, you can't necessarily buy certain items, most of the valuable ones are sold with Life Cores," he said with a chuckle.
Owen was silent hearing that.
James then said to Enzo, "bro, if you want to sell something, you need to go to the second floor by yourself because you're forbidden from bringing friends unless you're selling a shared item... Wait a minute, I'll call a store clerk to guide you!"
He approached one of the clerks after saying that, explaining to him his purpose.
The clerk was a young man who seemed to have seen a lot in life so his reaction to people was quite flat.
He approached Enzo and said, "sir, please follow me, I'll take you to see one of the deputy managers!"
Enzo nodded, allowing him to lead the way for him.
They went up the curved staircase which was longer but it moved automatically, speeding up their steps.
Upstairs, Enzo felt like he was in an office with many closed rooms and another staircase leading to the third floor.
The clerk led him to one of the rooms, knocking softly on the door as he said, "deputy manager, someone's here to sell something!"
Enzo continued to look around as the clerk called out to the manager.
Suddenly, he was startled by the figure of a young woman coming down the stairs from the second floor.
