Chapter 25: Control
Enzo naturally did not have the slightest thought of dodging.
However, he didn't just choose to stand still waiting for the zombie to run over him.
The courtyard that was the scene of the fight happened to have many buried boulders with only a few parts revealed.
The average of each boulder was more than five meters tall. Enzo could feel their size clearly because of his ability to control them.
With a single thought, he summoned the boulders to gather in front of him.
Under his control, their movements were even faster than the zombies.
"What?"
The sight shocked everyone watching.
In front of Enzo, the boulders formed a wall that was almost five meters thick.
At the beginner level, one couldn't think of crashing into that rock without getting injured.
BANG!
The zombie realized the danger but it was too late for it to stop.
It slammed into the boulder wall, which made the wall shift slightly but did not break.
Instead, it was thrown backwards.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The boulders moved again, sliding towards the zombie to counterattack.
Only, it was stronger than Enzo expected.
It was able to stabilize its body in the air and then flapped its wings to fly higher where it could finally dodge the boulders with ease.
Its red eyes suddenly looked wary as it stared at Enzo.
With the Half-Boss status, it was naturally not like an ordinary monster.
Its intelligence was higher and it could understand enemies that were dangerous to it.
Shua! Shua!
Enzo saw grass after grass growing around him. They enlarged by twining around each other so that they looked like root-like vines.
Like snakes, they moved towards him without giving him any room to dodge.
If caught, he would face serious trouble, but they were plants, so even though they came from the zombie, he still had control over them. In fact, he found it easy to control them because they were just grass in large numbers.
"Hmm..." He snorted softly, making the grasses stop moving before them reached where he was.
"What? Why did they stop?" The audience was dumbfounded again.
"Is he controlling those grasses?" They were quite aware of what was happening as only Enzo could have stopped the grass.
The zombie was even more surprised.
It had to point its hand forward to make the grasses move forward but they still didn't move forward at all.
"Now it's my turn," Enzo told it.
Without him making any movement, the golden spear on his back suddenly moved on its own, hovering in the air while emitting a sharp golden light and flashing endlessly.
Shua!
The spear suddenly glided swiftly towards the zombie.
When it moved, it not only relied on Enzo's control, but also had its own thrust power that increased its speed.
It was even three times faster than the zombie.
The zombie tried to dodge, but the spear had already arrived first, hitting the left side of its shoulder until it was torn.
Its eyes widened, as if it couldn't believe it had actually been hit.
ROAR!
It looked furious, roaring loudly at Enzo before suddenly launching itself at him again.
It did have a chance this time as Enzo would not have time to create a second boulder wall in front of it as there were no other boulders nearby.
At this point, Enzo chose to dodge, relying on the wind to push him to the side while leaving an iron plate floating in the air.
It was the Siphon Grasp that he had purchased from Primordial Red Moon.
The zombie seemed to ignore the iron plate due to its small and inconspicuous shape.
Only, it suddenly followed behind it and emitted a thin black light that seemed to only be able to reach an area of one meter in front of it.
The light hit the zombie as it chased after Enzo who was floating in the wind.
At first it seemed like nothing was happening, but in a short period of time, the zombie suddenly slowed down.
It then looked at the iron plate behind it, stopped chasing Enzo, and sent a fist to get rid of it.
However, the iron plate easily evaded by moving backwards and then approaching the zombie again while continuing to emit its light towards it.
"That's Siphon Grasp..." Some Awakeners who knew many artifacts recognized it.
"Is that an artifact that can absorb stamina but is said to be difficult to use?" Another Awakener asked.
"Yes, but it seems he can control the Siphon Grasp just like he controls his spear."
"Hey, do you think he has the ability to control everything around him? Look, he's actually floating because he's being carried by the wind, isn't the wind controlled by him too?"
The Awakeners were beginning to suspect Enzo's abilities, but they were a little hard pressed to believe in such abilities because it was too terrifying.
At this moment, the zombie was busy trying to remove the Siphon Grasp from its side, but always failed.
Over time, it seemed to become so weak that even walking seemed difficult for it, similar to someone who never exercised and then was forced to run.
ROAR!
It roared angrily at Enzo, as if to say he was a coward for playing tricks like this.
At the same time, a boulder suddenly came from behind it.
BANG!
The boulder struck it hard on the back, causing its body to bend.
It was pushed until it hit the wall of the Sky Kekkai.
Ordinary monsters would surely die under such an attack, but the zombie seemed to have only suffered a broken back.
It could even stand up, but it could no longer walk.
Shua!
Enzo's golden spear slid towards it again, heading for its head.
Without the ability to even walk, let alone flap its wings, the spear struck its head directly, embedding itself in its forehead, which obviously destroyed its brain.
One sure way to make a monster die was to crush their head.
Of course, the zombie died instantly.
