Sonic Boom: Friends zone

Sonic and Tails were at Sonic's shack, working on Sonic's new interior design. Knuckles enters with a strange girl, Stacey. Although Stacey looked quite rich and glamorous, she didn't mind where Knuckles had brought her to.

"Hi everyone." Knuckles greeted as he saw Sonic's eyes on Stacey. "This is Stacey, my online girlfriend."

"Your online girlfriend? Where'd you meet her on?" Sonic asked.

"Ghost Me." Knuckles replied.

"Ghost Me?" Sonic asked sarcastically.

"Yes." Knuckles said frustrated.

Tails who was working on the design, suddenly stopped and eyed Knuckles, then his eyes went to Stacey, she looked rich so why was she with someone like Knuckles, perhaps Knuckles was hiding something from them.

"Hi Stacey, I'm Miles Prower but everyone calls me Tails." Tails said smiling. "And I'm Sonic the hedgehog, Tails' best friend and leader of the group." Sonic said afterward.

Stacey felt overwhelmed and started sobbing, then Knuckles shot Sonic a dirty look which meant, "It's all your fault." Stacey soon calmed down and introduced herself as Stacey Mayor.

"Stacey Mayor? As in the Mayor's daughter? Our Mayor?" Tails asked surprised.

"Yes. Knuckles and I met few months ago on Ghost Me. It's was love at first sight for me. I had never someone as charming as Knuckles. He cares a lot about me and I love the way he spoils me." She explained.

"But Knuckles doesn't even have a phone or a house? How can he spoil you?" Sonic asked.

"Wha...at? Of course he does, how would I have met him?" Stacey responded.

"But it's true. Unless he's hiding something from us." Tails said.

Knuckles then looked at his friends with disappointment in his eyes, how could they think so low of him? He thought they were his friends. Perhaps they hated him and must have talked about him behind his back. He then stood properly and spread out his legs, feeling confident. Stacey looked at him as if to say, "Knuckles, are all of these true?"

"Actually guys, after years of listening to all the negative comments about me, I decided to grow up. I met with a very rich guy, who introduced me to one of his friends and I got a job as an intern. From there, I became a model, a very successful one at that. Well, that was why you guys haven't been seeing me for months now. You guys probably thought I was lost somewhere and didn't even think of me, uhn?" Knuckles said.

"Wow... Knuckles, you really have changed." Sonic muttered. That was all he could say, he was too shocked to believe that this same Knuckles he knew was a celebrity. But how come no one here knew about it or were they all paid to keep shut about it?

Tails couldn't utter a word. He had lost hope in Knuckles months ago and thought he would be the one catering for him for the rest of their lives. He wasn't a good person for him to have such thought about his friend. It was so low of him to do so but he did and now he regretted it.

Knuckles knew his friends were probably feeling bad for their actions and he couldn't blame them. He also thought he was a lost cause and might never hit success. But here he was today, with Stacey as his girlfriend.

"Knuckles, we are really sorry for our actions. We shouldn't have thought so low of you and we regret it now." Sonic said apologetically.

"Yes, Knuckles. We are sorry." Tails said.

"It's okay guys, everything is fine. I forgive you." Knuckles said as the three of them hugged. It was so good to have their friend back.

Amy was at home, watching her favorite reality TV show when Tails called.

Amy answered the call and said hi. Tails said Sonic was having a reunion party later in the day. Amy said okay and asked why the host didn't invite her himself. Tails said he was too busy to make any calls at the moment and he also asked if she could call Sticks and probably Shadow. Amy said okay and ended the call. She dialed Sticks' number and called. Sticks answered immediately .

"Hello." Sticks said as she was munching on a snack. "Hey Sticks, it's Amy." Amy responded.

"Oh. Hey Amy. How are you doing? 'Cause I'm just here eating chips." Sticks said.

"I'm okay. So Sticks, the boys are hosting a reunion party later today and of course we're invited." Amy said shrieking.

"A reunion party? For what?" Sticks asked.

"I don't know yet. But we'll figure it out soon." Amy said. "Are you coming?" She asked further.

"Of course. I'm not doing anything at home so yeah. I'll be there. Why don't I stop by at your house so we can leave together?" Sticks said.

"Sure." Amy replied. "See ya."

"Alright." Sticks said as she ended the call. "A reunion party? It better be good."

Shadow was at the the other end of town, he was lonely but didn't want to visit Sonic. They were rivals so why would he visit him. It didn't make sense at all. He received a letter from Amy earlier and decided to open it. Amy had sent him that letter because she couldn't reach him online. Shadow wasn't interested in the use of technology and writing him a letter was her only option even though she didn't know where he was located exactly. She hoped he received it before sun set.

Shadow opened the letter and read it;

Shadow chuckled and tore the paper. Why would he attend their silly reunion party but deep down he wanted to attend that event. He decided to sleep so he would forget about it.

It was almost sun set and Amy didn't hear anything from Shadow, she felt bad that Shadow didn't honor her invitation but she had no choice but to let it go, he might have his reasons. Sticks arrived at Amy's house and the two friends walked to the event which was at the center of the village marketplace. That place for once looked nice, there were flowers everywhere and seats neatly arranged with a stage and spotlights.

Sonic and Tails were seated with some other people, Sonic for once thought of wearing pants with a black suit and a tie. Tails was also dressed in a black suit and pants. Comedy Chimp arrived only wearing a suit, unfortunately the boutique didn't have his size of pants. Amy and Sticks went to seat among the other guests and that was when Sonic spotted them. They both looked pretty with their black evening gowns and high-heeled shoes.

Knuckles soon arrived with Stacey, they both looked nice and rich with their outfits, a black tuxedo and a black glitter dress with a pair of high heels. They sat next to Sonic, Knuckles was chatting non stop with Sonic and Tails. Stacey was alone with her phone until Amy and Sticks appeared. Tails had called them to join them at the high table.

It was already late and Shadow hasn't appeared. The event had to take place whether he was there or not. Comedy Chimp appeared on the stage and the event started. He first started with his dry jokes which was funny to the audience. Then he called Sonic to say a few words of appreciation and after that , music was playing and everyone were dancing. Young girls were whining their waists and the older ones were taking photos.

It was when foods were served that Shadow appeared, wearing a black shirt and black pants. He looked quite intimidating yet so handsome. The young girls were blushing non stop and some even approached him but he didn't say anything. He went to the high table and everyone were surprised to see him. He actually attended Sonic's event.

"Shadow? You actually came." Amy said.

"Well... It's a reunion party." He responded.

"We're all glad that you're here. Right guys?" Amy said. "Yeah sure." Sticks responded. "Yes." Tails simply said and Knuckles said, "Of course I am." Shadow felt relieved after hearing that but Sonic didn't say anything. He didn't want to admit it but he was happy that Shadow came.

It was now time for the reunion. Paparazzi appeared taking photos non stop which made Shadow annoyed. Why would Sonic involve the press in this party. It was actually Knuckles' idea , he wanted the public to know about his friends and none of them thought it was a bad idea. After all he was a celebrity.

Soar the eagle appeared with his camera men, setting up the cameras to record the event live.

By the time the camera men were done setting up the cameras, Sonic and friends were at the stage seated with Comedy Chimp as the host.

"Welcome to the first Comedy Chimp's reality show called Talk with Chimp and our sponsor, Knuckles ' Media..." The audience interrupted him with claps and cheers. He continued after they had stopped, "It's been an honor and a pleasure for me to start my own reality show and thank you everyone for your love and support. I really appreciate it." There was a standing ovation and soon soon everyone was silent. They wanted to hear what he had to say next.

"Tonight, we would be talking with Sonic and Friends, Sonic The hedgehog, our very own sponsor , Knuckles The Echinda, Amy Rose, Miles Tails Prower, Sticks The Badger and the ultimate life form, Shadow The Hedgehog." Everyone cheered and clapped as he mentioned their names. He waited for a while and the audience gradually stopped.

"So Sonic, isn't weird that another person bears your last name?" Comedy Chimp asked.

"Nope. It's not something weird." Sonic replied.

"Okay. Amy Rose, what is your current relationship with Sonic The Hedgehog?" He asked. "We're just friends." Amy replied.

"These aren't the questions that were meant to be asked but I just wanted to spice things up." Comedy Chimp said. "Well, we've been hearing things lately about Knuckles The Echidna but we were told to keep shut about it. Knuckles can you tell us why?"

"Actually I didn't want the village to know about my success because they all looked down on me but they found out and I didn't want Sonic and the rest to know about it so I paid the whole village to keep it shut about it even the journalist, Soar the eagle can justify my words."

Soar the eagle stood up and he was given the microphone. "And everything he said was true. The Mayor himself was aware and instructed us not to advertise about him. We asked why we couldn't but he said it was confidential. " Soar said.

Knuckles continued," I felt bad for hiding it from them but I knew they wouldn't think so high of me so when I kept it as a secret from them in the past two months. I also knew that they wouldn't be bothered if I was away these past few months and when I showed up at Sonic's shack today, I confirmed it. They weren't surprised to see me or anything. But it still didn't mean that I should hate them because they are my family and even when I was stupid, they still stood by me and that was the reason why I forgave them ." Everyone cheered and clapped. It was beautiful and so motivational. Little kids that had lost hope regained it again. Shadow felt a bit of jealousy, he had no family or friends. He wanted to reconcile with Sonic but he was too proud to admit it.

Amy then said, "That was beautiful, Knuckles. I'm so proud of who you are and what you have achieved. We're all sorry for how we treated you but that was in the past and I'm glad we suggested this event." Everyone clapped afterwards, she was right. They were all sorry for how they had treated Knuckles. It wasn't good of them but it was the past and they needed to focus on the present.

Comedy Chimp was too emotional to speak, so Soar the Eagle took over. He began the next question after introducing himself.

"Shadow The Hedgehog, this question is directed to you. Why do you hate Sonic?..."

And the audience gasped.
