Chapter 360: Telling Everyone About The Zerg 2
Xu Qianghua paused briefly, glancing at the group.
"They're also one of the fastest types of ships the Zerg have, which is why the invasion came so suddenly.
However, their overall strength is not high, which is why they are never sent in as the main force and are only used on smaller worlds as a resource collection tool."
"What are the other types of ships, then?" Feng Yuxuan asked.
Xu Qianghua's expression remained unchanged as he said, "I'm getting to that."
He waved his hand again to shift the hologram. This time, it displayed a much larger Zerg ship—one that dwarfed the exploration vessel.
"This is a Hive-class carrier," he explained. The ship's size was staggering, easily ten times the size of the exploration ship.
Its grotesque form bristled with organic spires and massive appendages. Large pods were visible along its sides, each one pulsating with green energy.
"Hive-class carriers are the backbone of their fleets. These ships can carry millions of Zerg at a time, including specialized units like aerial assault creatures, burrowers, and siege beasts.
They also serve as mobile factories, capable of making ships that are used for combat."
The hologram zoomed in to show the inside of the Hive-class carrier. The interior was massive, filled with twisting corridors and cavernous chambers.
The walls were lined with veins and glowing nodes, and the ceilings were draped with fleshy webbing.
Millions of Zerg swarmed inside the ship, their forms ranging from small drones to massive beasts.
The entire ship was alive, its organic structure moving and pulsating with each heartbeat.
"A single Hive-class carrier could devastate an entire planet," Xu Qianghua said, his tone neutral the whole time.
Feng Yuxuan whistled, clearly impressed.
Lei Zhentian scowled. "What about their weapons?"
Xu Qianghua paused for a moment before replying, "The Zerg don't have conventional weapons.
Instead, they use bio-weapons, which are basically living, organic cannons. These can take on a variety of forms, but they're all based on a foundation of flesh and bone."
As he said this, the hologram showed a massive cannon-like object attached to the side of the Hive-class carrier.
It was made from a tangle of bones, organs, and pulsating flesh, all held together by thick strands of muscle.
"Each Hive-class carrier carries at least three of these," Xu Qianghua explained.
"That's disgusting," Hu Liwei muttered.
"It's efficient," Tian Meifeng countered. "Organic matter is easy to replace."
The two women looked at each other, and an unspoken understanding passed between them.
"There are more," Xu Qianghua added. "Their smaller fighters and ground troops are all armed with organic weapons.
Even their armor is made of living tissue. But their biggest strength is their ability to regenerate. As long as they can take in enough energy, the Zerg can heal from most injuries.
However, not all of them are like that, as there are different types of Zerg in the ranks. We have only dealt with the most basic type so far."
"This is a Leviathan-class mothership," he said. The room went completely silent. The Leviathan-class ship was colossal, its size so massive that it could easily eclipse a small moon.
Its surface was a writhing mass of organic tendrils and hardened armor, with multiple glowing cores embedded across its structure.
"The Zerg's true powerhouses," Xu Qianghua continued, "are their Leviathan-class motherships.
Each one can carry tens of billions of Zerg and is protected by a powerful defensive shield. Their weapons are beyond anything we could imagine. A single Leviathan-class mothership could destroy a planet with ease."
He paused for a moment, letting his words sink in.
"And from the records, it seems that some of these ships hold a newly born Queen," Xu Qianghua continued. "Others are under the control of the most powerful Zerg under the Queen."
"So there is more than one Queen?" Lei Zhentian asked, his voice strained.
"Not sure, but from the looks of things, it might just be a high-level Queen taking care of younger ones," Xu Qianghua said.
"They do this because Queens are rare in places like this, as the areas are barren. But I am not sure what this means, as there is no record after this.
All we can do is grow stronger and then learn more about this later."
Actually, he knew what the Zerg meant by this being a barren area. All they meant was that there is a low number of living planets that can give birth to life, leading to an even smaller number of planets where the Zerg can gather resources to devour.
This is why there are not many of these Leviathan-class motherships present in the pictures shown.
The Zerg hive that attracted them is actually a hive that had lost many wars against another race in a different void sector.
However, they found a wormhole that seemed to be about to close, so they made a last-minute decision.
They used the wormhole to escape from the enemy and then entered this place. They were lucky that the wormhole took them into an area filled with barren planets.
This is the reason for their craze for resources—they need to rebuild their army so they can face the enemy when they leave this region.
The problem is that the hive had teleported near this sector's most powerful race. This might not have been a big problem if the hive had its previous strength, but with its current state, it is only a fight for survival.
However, Xu Qianghua did not plan to tell the people present about this, as that would only cause them to worry.
The more worried people are, the more mistakes they will make, leading to worse outcomes.
He planned to reveal this information later, once they had the power to defeat the Zerg and the race they were fighting against. Until then, it was better to keep this to himself. Experience more content on My Virtual Library Empire
"So, what's our plan?" Feng Yuxuan asked. "How do we beat something like this?"
Xu Qianghua smiled. "We do not need to do anything other than strengthen ourselves as it seems that the actual hive is busy surviving "
"Surviving?" The Crown Prince of the Northern Frost Empire questioned.
