Chapter 13: SPOP Chapter 13 Ge Nie
Rojen's tone was very blunt, and his words left Jett embarrassed. As he had said, they had been plotting against others and now they were trying to use his power to ensure their own safety. Wasn't that ridiculous?
After leaving Jett with a few words, Rojen quickly left with Fred.
He scanned the entire ship again, but still couldn't see Sefiya. At this point he confirmed that she had most likely already left.
Jett, being quite clever, followed them without a moment's hesitation. Rojen and Fred did not acknowledge his presence.
"Some people still choose to believe in you, Rojen," Fred said as they reached a secluded spot. He glanced at Jett before continuing. "Even if you don't want to save everyone on this ship, there are some innocent people."
"Considering I saved your life once, if you truly have the strength, then show it now."
Fred's voice was heavy and his eyes were filled with hope.
Given the chance to live, who would choose death?
Rojen's eyes flickered as he glanced at Jett. Fred's gaze was fixed on him, full of expectation.
"I don't have the strength you think I have."
He spoke slowly, and the light of hope in both Fred's and Jett's eyes began to fade.
"Well, then it looks like we're all going to die here," Fred sighed. From their hiding place they could hear the pirates outside, who had probably already taken control of the situation and gathered the crew in one place. They were now hunting down anyone hiding on the ship.
"Quick, get those rats hiding on the ship! Captain wants them dead without hesitation!"
The pirate's voice came from outside, making all three of them tense.
The sound was very close and they immediately held their breath.
Rojen looked at Fred and Jett, noticing the sweat on their faces, which clearly showed how tense they were.
The three of them stayed perfectly still, and the footsteps outside passed quickly. Finally, they breathed a sigh of relief and began to move to change their location.
Three minutes later, they found a new hiding place. But as soon as they entered the room, they heard a loud, chaotic knocking at the door.
"Damn it, I saw you!"
A harsh, gruff shout pierced the air, and the wooden door was slammed shut with a loud bang, followed by the sound of heavy footsteps.
"We've been found!" Jett and Fred's faces immediately changed.
Rojen's heart tightened, and his right hand clenched into a fist.
"Do I have to use the system's power?"
He had very little money left - only about 30,000. He could only make an Orange-level summoning. After the Bai Feng possession power had disappeared, he hadn't truly defeated any of the ranking-grade officers, so the possession coins he'd obtained only numbered around fifty, which was too few to learn any of Bai Feng's skills.
'Boom'
The wooden door was finally smashed open, and several large, ferocious-looking pirates rushed in.
Jett screamed in fear and retreated even further.
"Damn you! You bastards dared to hide! Kill them!"
The leader of the group, a burly man, roared in anger.
The pirates behind him immediately raised their machetes and charged forward, and the situation became critical in an instant.
Rojen watched the scene unfold before him, clearly seeing the fear and desperation in Fred's eyes. He sighed inwardly.
"Fine."
"I only wanted to leave some money to prepare for the future, but it looks like I'll have to go all out now!"
Seeing the pirates up close, Rojen's earlier plan to leave some wealth and sneak away was completely shattered.
"30,000 should be enough to summon a decent ghost, right?"
With a self-mocking smile, Rojen's eyes suddenly narrowed. This time, spending 30,000 was no small matter. If he didn't show these pirates his strength, it would undoubtedly be a huge waste.
"Summon orange-grade ghost! Cost: 30,000 Belly!"
Rojen spoke softly to the system. The moment the words left his mouth, a swirling orange vortex appeared on the system interface. A tall and imposing figure emerged from within.
The man was cold and stern, with a long sword at his waist. His face bore the aura of a chivalrous knight, with eyes filled with justice and concern for the people. However, there was also a weight in his gaze, the heaviness of someone who had seen many of life's hardships.
"Summon a soul, Sword Saint Ge Nie. Cost: 30,000."
In an instant, the sword traveler stepped forward with a long sword at his side and merged with Rojen.
Rojen's entire body trembled, and a surge of internal energy erupted from his dantian. A formless force merged with his body, making his eyes sharp. At the same time, a sheathed longsword appeared at his waist without him noticing.
At that moment, Rojen radiated an intense sword intent. He had transformed into a battle-hardened swordsman.
Ge Nie was one of the male characters from The Legend of Qin, a disciple of the Sage of Ghost Valley, a master of swordplay, and known as the strongest swordplayer in the Qin state.
Now, the souls of Rojen and Ge Nie had become one. His gaze sparkled, showing the scenery of Ge Nie's past. At his waist, he now carried the famous sword, 'Rainbow Abyss'.
His right hand instinctively knew how to wield the sword, and the next moment, Rojen's hand rested on the hilt.
At the same time, 4-5 pirates split into three groups and charged at Rojen, Fred, and Jett.
"Ah, help!" Jett screamed in fear.
The pirates wore contemptuous, cruel smiles. They remained calm, for murder was a way of life for them.
"Die!"
Without hesitation, the pirates swung their machetes at their targets.
At that moment, Rojen's thumb slid sharply along the sheath.
'Click'
The sound of a clear and sharp sword hum echoed throughout the small room. A gust of wind rose, and the pirates standing there saw a flash of light in front of them. Then, the light disappeared, and the bodies of the burly men collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
'Humm'
The sword's hum still resonated. Rojen slowly returned 'Rainbow Abyss' to its scabbard, his eyes revealing a hint of admiration.
"Truly a fine sword!"
The sword's edge was never stained with blood, and its speed was so quick that the light was barely visible.
What a fine sword, and such impeccable swordsmanship!
Step by step, Rojen walked toward the door. Once he reached it, he paused and spoke softly.
"Let's go. Why are you still standing there?"
His calm voice snapped Fred and Jett out of their stunned stupor.
Only then did Fred and Jett lift their heads in a daze, looking around the room.
Blood was pooling on the wooden floor, and bodies lay scattered, motionless.
"Are... are they all dead?!"
