Stunned! My Cat Turned Out to Be a Female CEO

Chapter 3:

Chapter 3: Shock the Board! Who Gave Xu Yan the Tip?!:

Zheng Yiyi and Xu Yan got into the car and drove to Yunqi Villa, where Xu Yan lived in a four-story home.

As soon as she settled in the car, Xu Yan quickly sent a message to her secretary. “Look into Junqi Energy’s recent partnerships.”

Chen Yu, her secretary, replied immediately: “Got it, Ms. Xu.”

Xu Yan put down her phone.

Zheng Yiyi, still curious, asked, “I missed my beauty sleep this morning. Don’t I deserve an explanation?”

“An explanation for what?” Xu Yan asked.

“Who’s your boyfriend?”

“He’s not my boyfriend!” Xu Yan replied sharply.

“Then why are you wearing someone else’s clothes?”

Xu Yan sighed and rubbed her forehead, falling silent. She didn’t bother explaining. Telling someone she had turned into a cat just sounded ridiculous. Even if she hadn’t experienced it herself, she wouldn’t believe it either. Luckily, she was back to normal now.

Seeing her quiet, Zheng Yiyi pressed on, “Is he handsome? What’s his personality like?”

“Just focus on driving!” Xu Yan snapped.

“Okay, okay, Ms. Xu,” Zheng replied, still curious but knowing better than to push too far. After all, Xu Yan, as the president of the company, commanded respect.

Soon, they arrived at Xu Yan’s home. By then, Chen Yu had completed her investigation.

The information was exactly as Lu Fei had described.

Chen Yu, still shocked by the findings, said, “Ms. Xu, we currently hold 17 million yuan shares in Xin’an Energy. This…”

She paused, clearly impressed. “You’re amazing, Ms. Xu! If it weren’t for you, our company would have suffered huge losses.”

In the domestic stock market, stocks typically rise or fall by a maximum of 10% per day. However, high-tech stocks could fluctuate by up to 20%. With Xin’an Energy now in crisis, one day’s loss amounted to nearly 3.4 million yuan! Even a company as wealthy as Mingyu Financial would feel the pain from losing 3.4 million yuan in a single day.

Moreover, the original plan was to buy even more shares in Xin’an Energy, which would only increase their losses.

Chen Yu’s admiration for Xu Yan deepened. No one else had caught on to the problem, but Xu Yan had spotted it!

But in reality, Xu Yan was just as surprised as her secretary. She knew it wasn’t her who had uncovered this critical information. It was Lu Fei. He had pieced everything together and perfectly analyzed the situation.

Xu Yan couldn’t help but wonder inwardly, “Is there such a genius in my company?”

Noticing Xu Yan’s thoughtful expression, Zheng Yiyi asked, “What’s wrong?”

Xu Yan replied, “Nothing. You can head home now.”

Zheng Yiyi sighed dramatically. “I’m just your driver, huh? Used and discarded when convenient.”

Xu Yan smiled slightly. “I’m heading to the company for a meeting. If you’re interested, you can join me.”

“No thanks,” Zheng replied, shaking her head. Despite coming from a wealthy family herself, she had no interest in the corporate world and drove off after dropping Xu Yan off.

Xu Yan waited about 10 minutes until her driver arrived.

By 7:30 a.m., she was at the company, ready to call a meeting with the board of directors.

Mingyu Finance had 17 directors in total. Since directors didn’t have to show up daily, some of them were still half-asleep when they arrived, clearly displeased at being called in so early.

On the 35th floor of the company’s office, Xu Yan entered the conference room. “I’ll get straight to the point,” she said. “The company will sell all its shares in Xin’an Energy.”

The directors were stunned.

“What? Why are we suddenly selling?” one asked.

“This is a profitable project! We stand to make over 7 million yuan from it!” another added.

“Ms. Xu, this doesn’t seem like a wise decision,” said a third, clearly dissatisfied.

Mingyu Group, founded by Xu Yan’s family, still owned a large portion of the company’s shares. Despite her youth, Xu Yan had the authority to make decisions, but the directors were clearly questioning her judgment.

Xu Yan remained calm. “Someone told me that Xin’an Energy’s stock price is about to drop.”

“Who’s the idiot who said that?” one of the more hot-tempered directors shouted, his tone dismissive.

While the directors showed respect to Xu Yan, they didn’t hold back when it came to others.

Xu Yan slammed her hand on the table, her gaze icy as she stared down the man who had spoken. “Apologize,” she demanded.

The director hesitated, but then doubled down. “I wasn’t insulting you. I was talking about whoever gave you that advice. This is nonsense—it’ll cost us money!”

“What if that person is right?” Xu Yan asked calmly.

“Impossible.” The director scoffed.

Without another word, Xu Yan turned to Chen Yu, who promptly distributed documents to all the directors.

“Junqi Energy holds a key patent,” Chen Yu explained. “And they’re about to file a lawsuit over it. Read through these documents and then decide if we should still hold on to Xin’an Energy shares.”

The directors frowned as they examined the material.

10 minutes passed, and the room fell silent. The directors were in awe.

“Wow… who compiled all this?” one finally said, impressed. “This is incredible. So many details, all connected so perfectly.”

“This person is very capable,” another added. “It seems we really should sell the shares.”

The directors, all highly educated in finance, quickly grasped the situation. None of them were fools, and after reading the information, they knew what needed to be done.

Xu Yan turned to the director who had insulted the source of the information. “Apologize.”

Looking sheepish, the man muttered, “I’m sorry.”

Xu Yan stood tall, her tone steady as she said, “Then the resolution is passed. We’ll begin selling the shares immediately, but we’ll do it gradually to avoid impacting the market. Meeting ended.”

As Xu Yan prepared to leave, one of the directors called after her. “Ms. Xu, wait a moment.”

“Where did you get this information?” another asked, clearly curious.

Chen Yu, too, looked at Xu Yan with anticipation. She had assumed Xu Yan had gathered the information herself.

But Xu Yan had been tipped off. By who?

Everyone wanted to know: Who was the genius behind it all?
