Stunned! My Cat Turned Out to Be a Female CEO

Chapter 4:

Chapter 4: Lu Fei Is Confused – Did My Cat Steal Clothes and Run Away? A Day’s Profit of 160,000 yuan!:

Xu Yan found herself lost in thought.

Lu Fei… so mysterious.

He seemed like someone who didn’t want others to know just how capable he really was. As her mind wandered, she remembered being carried by him and even being swatted playfully. Her cheeks quickly flushed with embarrassment.

“What does any of this have to do with you?” Xu Yan asked coldly, trying to mask her blush.

The board of directors, sensing her mood, remained silent. Mingyu Group had been established by the Xu family, and though the family’s shares had been diluted over the years, they still held a strong influence over the company. The directors knew better than to challenge Xu Yan directly.

Xu Yan turned, leaving the conference room to head back to the 36th floor, where her large but minimalist office was located. Chen Yu followed her inside, updating her on business matters.

“There’s a 350-million-yuan investment today. You need to review it.” Chen Yu informed her.

“I’ll take a look,” Xu Yan replied.

Mingyu Group was a financial company that had also ventured into angel investing. Thanks to their sharp investment strategies, they now had stakes in major platforms, including food delivery, ride-hailing services, and short-form video apps.

After explaining the details, Chen Yu left the office, leaving Xu Yan alone with her thoughts.

“Will I turn into a cat again? she wondered. It’s possible… better be prepared.”

She decided to leave work early today, around 4 p.m. But where should she go?

She hesitated. Going

back to her villa seemed like the safest option. She could have dinner prepared, and even if she turned into a cat again, it wouldn’t be an issue.

But then, a strange thought popped into her mind—”Should I go to Lu Fei’s house?”

“No, no, that’s crazy!” She immediately scolded herself.

The last time was an accident. If she showed up again, it would seem like she was deliberately trying to spy on him.

“I’m the CEO of Mingyu Group.” She reminded herself.

Yet, despite her internal resistance, she made an unusual decision. She instructed her secretary to rent an apartment next to Lu Fei’s and even requested that the door lock be changed to one that a cat could open. Though her secretary was confused by the request, she did as told.

Meanwhile, Lu Fei woke up that morning, calling out, “Little Flower?” It was the name he had given the stray cat he had taken in. But there was no response. He got up, warmed a bag of milk, replied to some messages on his phone, and then began searching for the cat.

“Did it run away? Could it have opened the door and escaped?! ” Lu Fei’s heart raced.

But as he looked around more carefully, he realized something else—two pieces of clothing were missing from the balcony. He quickly checked his computer to make sure his bank account was intact.

“There must have been a burglar!”

That was his first—and only—logical conclusion. The thief must have stolen his cat and a few clothes. But after confirming that his accounts were untouched and that nothing else in the house was missing, Lu Fei stood there, utterly bewildered.

“Did my cat run off with my clothes? “

It sounded ridiculous, but it was the only explanation that made any sense.

“Well, I guess Little Flower and I were never meant to be.” Lu Fei sighed, shaking his head in disappointment.

After a quick breakfast, he headed to work, arriving at the company around 9 a.m. Mingyu Financial had flexible working hours. As long as he completed your tasks, being late didn’t matter much.

When Lu Fei sat down at his desk, his colleague Zhou Song walked over and said, “The CEO’s back.”

Lu Fei barely glanced up. “Oh.”

Zhou Song added with a grin, “You know, it’s a shame. I really think you look like the male lead in some romance novel.”

Lu Fei shot him a look of disgust. “Maybe you should stop reading those cheesy romance books for girls.”

Zhou Song, a 32-year-old man with a love for women’s romance novels, ignored the jab. “You should check one out sometime. They’re not bad.”

“No thanks.” Lu Fei said flatly.

Zhou wasn’t done yet. “Then why don’t you make a move on CEO Xu? You could fulfill my dream of seeing a real-life romance unfold!”

Lu Fei smirked. “Sure. You go tell CEO Xu that I like her and want to date her. If she’s cool with it, I won’t mind either.”

Zhou Song wrinkled his nose. “Why should I do that?”

Lu Fei raised an eyebrow. “See? You don’t even think it’s possible.”

He then leaned back in his chair, his tone more serious. “Stop worrying about that stuff. Isn’t it more satisfying to have a nice dinner after work?”

Sure, Xu Yan was beautiful, and she wasn’t too old. Lu Fei didn’t dislike her, but the idea of pursuing a relationship seemed like too much trouble. Playing video games seemed far more appealing.

Zhou Song shook his head, disappointed, but dropped the topic.

Later that afternoon, Lu Fei received some unexpected news—Junqi Energy had officially filed a lawsuit against Xin’an Energy.

“It’s happening! The lawsuit is here sooner than expected!” He thought excitedly.

The moment the news broke, Xin’an Energy’s stock price began to plummet. Just a minute earlier, it had reached 199 yuan per share. But in an instant, it dropped to 186 yuan.

A steep decline!

Some investors tried to intervene, buying shares to stabilize the price. But soon, Yang city released a statement, abandoning their investment in Xin’an Energy. Within 10 minutes, the stock price fell further to 140.35 yuan.

By that point, Lu Fei had already made a net profit of 166,000 yuan.

In just one day! With a principal of 500,000 yuan, he had earned 166,000 yuan, and there was still room for the stock to drop even further.

Lu Fei wasn’t in a hurry.

He knew that Xin’an Energy’s core patent had been compromised, and the stock would continue to fall.

Just as he was reveling in his success, Zhou Song burst in, exclaiming, “What the heck? Our company’s directors just bypassed the analysis department and sold all of Xin’an Energy’s shares!”

“We’re pulling out too?!”

“I heard there’s an expert advising CEO Xu, warning her about the risks!”

Lu Fei was genuinely surprised.

“Who could be that sharp? ” He wondered.
