Chapter 161: Legendary Class

@ : Congrats, kid. You have passed the first of my trials.

@ : Though I have seen your talent, it is still not enough. Fighting and defeating a Troll Beast does require talent, but… it's still not good compared to normal human fighters.

@ : Your next task is to defeat a human fighter—a good one. Maybe a knight or an immortal warrior like yourselves, but they need to be above level 10.

[ New Quest ]

[ Task: Defeat a human fighter above level 10 ]

[ Reward: Madara's impression of you will increase. If Madara's impression reaches above 80, you are in for a tremendous benefit. ]

[ Current Impression: 37 ]

Dave asked, "What will I gain from this?"

Madra fell silent for a moment before responding.

@ : …Hmm, didn't I already tell you? You will be my successor. I don't want to boast, but I was called a legend even when all I did was defend my kingdom. Do you understand what that means? Unlike other legends who traveled the entire continent to make a name for themselves, I became a legend just by staying in my own kingdom. Even though my kingdom was too small for someone like me, I still ended up as a legend.

@ : Now, do you understand what it means to be my successor? You will gain the abilities I created, and if you have any talent, I will personally help you grow stronger.

Dave nodded before asking, "What do you want in return?"

@ : I'm liking you already.

[ Madra's impression of you has increased by 8 points. It is now at 45. ]

@ : Not being greedy at every opportunity and wondering why someone is being so generous to you… you've got a good eye, kid. Anyway, I want you to sit on the throne of the Saharan Empire in return.

@ : Those bastards continuously attacked my kingdom. Even though our land was small and peaceful, I never once sought conquest despite my overwhelming talent. All I ever wanted was a peaceful life for my people… yet the Saharan Empire stole that from us.

@ : Now, I want revenge. I want you to sit on their throne and mock them. Rename it to the Lubana Empire… No, that's not necessary. As long as you sit on their throne, I don't care what means you use—just become the Emperor.

@ : So, what is your response, kid?

Dave smirked and replied, "Hmm, I don't care about your revenge, but I do like the idea of sitting on the throne of the biggest nation on the continent."

Madra nodded in approval.

@ : Good. As long as my successor—which you must become—sits on that throne, I can go to the afterlife peacefully.

"So, what is it?" Diana asked, while Boa also looked at him curiously.

Dave put the sheath into his inventory before explaining to them.

"If we were at a high level, I'm pretty sure you would have defeated us too," Diana said.

Dave shrugged. "It's okay, there are a lot of strong people here too," he said, and she nodded in agreement.

Together, they returned to town as Dave began looking around for a knight. Finding one wasn't difficult, but…

"Is that a Red Knight?" Diana asked as they spotted a knight in crimson armor.

It was a Knight of the Saharan Empire's Legion, warriors infamous for their red energy—a special kind of aura that carried a decaying or corrosive effect on anything it touched. The redder the energy, the stronger the knight.

@ : Kid, defeat him.

"He's level 100+... How am I supposed to defeat him?" Dave asked, speechless.

Madra nodded.

@ : I will lend you some strength equal to his.

[ Your level has been temporarily raised to 101 ]

[ You have acquired Basic Sword Mastery (Level 10) ]

@ : Now, defeat him.

Dave nodded, then turned to Diana. "Do you have any skills related to swordsmanship?" he asked.

She shook her head, and Madra didn't grant him any additional skills either.

@ : I would have given you my sword techniques, but the Saharan Empire fears me. The moment they see you using my style, they will hunt you to no end.

@ : Defeat that Red Knight, and you will be my successor.

[ New Quest ]

[ Class Change Quest ]

[ You have been given the opportunity to inherit one of the legends of the continent. ]

[ Task: Defeat the Red Knight, Pablo ]

[ Reward: Legendary (Growth) Class - Madra's Successor ]

"Nice," Dave muttered, nodding as he walked toward Pablo.

The knight was speaking with a Lubana Knight, though talking was an exaggeration—it was more like looking down on him with arrogance.

This was normal. After years of fearing Madra, the Saharan Empire lived in paranoia, convinced that one day Madra would invade them. Every child in Saharan grew up hearing stories of Madra, the Undefeated King. But now that he was gone, the Lubana people were treated like slaves by the empire. Many times, the empire had tried to rewrite history, but the proud Lubana lineage never forgot their past, despite living under constant oppression.

"Hello, sir," Dave greeted as he approached Pablo.

Pablo glanced at him with a sneer. "An Immortal being, huh? What do you want?" he asked, his eyes filled with disdain.

"I have heard of the prestige of the Red Knights. May I have the honor to spar with you?" Dave asked with a smile, while subtly allocating his new stats into Strength and Agility, making him the perfect warrior build.

"Hmph, an ant like you challenging me?" Pablo scoffed, stepping closer.

Dave met his gaze and said humbly, "I aspire to be a great knight. That's why I wondered if I could fight you, a member of the famous Red Knight Legion, recognized across the entire continent."

Pablo smirked and nodded. "You should have said so earlier. Let's spar then," he said, laughing.

Dave nodded in return, his grip on his sword tightening.

"You don't have to do this for me," said the Lubana Knight as he held Dave back.

He was a middle-aged man with a strong build, and judging by the level above his head, he was stronger than the Red Knight.

@ : At least there are still some talented warriors in my kingdom... though it's just a territory now.

"It's not about that. I just hate those who act like they're above others," Dave replied.

The middle-aged man, whose name tag read Reaves, smiled and handed him a skill book.

"Here, you will need this," he said.

[ You have acquired Ripple Slash (Epic) ]

"It's my technique. Defeat him with this, and I'll give you the full set," Reaves said.

Dave nodded. "Okay, thank you."

Reaves simply waved his hand. "Go on, kid. Show him what you're made of."
