Superman in Marvel: Multiverse Ascendant

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Tony's Family Conversation

"The next ability... well, that's it. We've tested everything, Tony." Leon spread his hands.

"Finished?" Tony perked up as if hearing good news. He straightened his back, suddenly energized.

Enlarging the chart on his computer, he smirked. "I thought you'd give me a whole page of abilities."

"A whole page? That's a bit much, don't you think?" Leon flew toward Tony.

"Why not?" Tony's tone turned exaggerated. "I remember you saying you have all of Superman's powers."

"I thought you'd show us things like reversing time, like in Superman 1, or healing wounds with heat vision."

Leon landed in front of him. "Don't joke. How could I have abilities like that?"

"You said it yourself—you have all of Superman's powers." Tony emphasized, "I still remember that confident look on your face when you said it in the garage!"

Leon was speechless. He had just been hit by his own boomerang.

Who could blame him? This world didn't even have Henry Cavill as Man of Steel yet.

Superheroes in movies and TV shows varied greatly in strength.

At the time, Leon had been comparing himself to a different version of Superman.

Leon sighed. "Okay, I take it back. I just have the abilities of a Kryptonian."

"Superman is strong because he's the protagonist in the comics."

"His fellow Kryptonians aren't nearly as powerful."

"And the same applies to me." He walked over to the computer, checking the records.

"Despite how fast I've been growing..."

"I estimate I'm not far from my limit."

Tony found the topic interesting. "Really? That makes sense. A species capable of reproduction shouldn't be able to evolve infinitely."

He rubbed his chin. "Maybe we can run an experiment, build a model to predict your future growth?"

"That's what I want to do," Leon agreed. "But I'll need your help for the next tests."

"No problem." Tony took over.

Leon smiled and patted Tony's shoulder. "Thanks, Tony."

"But for now, we need to head home. We've got a basement to repair."

"Damn, you had to bring that up. I can already imagine how angry Pepper will be." Tony sighed, looking up at the rain-filled sky.

"How about this—I'll handle the basement, you handle Pepper."

"Not thrilled with that deal... but fine. Deal."

That Night

Leon used his bio-force field, heat vision, and freezing breath to solidify the last section of the rebuilt wall.

He casually wiped the cement off his palms onto his jeans.

"Hah… done."

Leaning against the wall, he surveyed the basement, satisfied with his work.

Once war-torn and full of holes, the basement was now completely renovated, fresh paint and all.

Superpowers sure made construction easy!

After confirming everything was fine, Leon headed upstairs.

Stepping into the yard, he stripped off his jeans and dove into the swimming pool.

After dozens of laps, he surfaced, slicking his hair back as he leaned against the pool's edge, gazing at the stars.

The summer night mist hovered over the pool, blending with the distant sound of waves crashing on the shore.

Droplets trickled down his chest, emphasizing his sculpted muscles.

"Tired? Congrats, you've been promoted to the Stark family's official handyman. No more hiring contractors!"

Tony's voice came from behind.

Leon didn't even turn. "Just this once. Next time, you fix it, Tony."

Tony handed him a glass of wine. "Fine, but next time, you deal with Pepper. She left earlier, nagging me about how I only cause trouble at home and urging me to get back to work."

"She's right. You should go to work, Tony." Leon chuckled. "What kind of CEO never shows up? That's how companies go bankrupt."

Tony swirled the wine. "Maybe there's a CEO just like that sitting next to me?"

"Go to hell. Unlike you, I'd find a successor before disappearing." Leon took a sip.

Their conversation trailed off, leaving the pool silent except for the night breeze and the sound of water.

Then, without warning, Tony jumped in with a splash.

After swimming a few laps, he stopped beside Leon, breathing lightly as he stared at the stars.

"Leon…" Tony started, then fell silent for a long time.

"What? Just spit it out. Since when are you shy?"

Tony shrugged. "I just think we should have a real talk, as brothers."

Leon raised an eyebrow. "Suddenly sentimental? Is this 'Tony the Father Figure' moment? Did today scare you?"

Tony nodded. "You did scare me—but not really."

"I just never imagined your strength would reach that level."

Taking a sip of wine, he continued, "It's beyond human comprehension."

"One punch with the force of 3.6 million tons of TNT… No one in this world can stop you."

"Not even me."

Tony studied Leon's powerful frame. "You're so damn strong. If anyone else had seen today's tests, they might lose sleep tonight."

"And you?" Leon asked directly.

"Of course not! I'm your dearest brother!"

"Even if you peed on me when you were two, I still took you to parties to meet beautiful women!"

"Why would I be worried or afraid just because you got stronger? I'd only be proud of you."

Tony's sincerity was unmistakable.

Leon knew Tony never lied—because no one had the right to make him lie.

Besides, his tone was calm and genuine, making it easy to believe.

"I know you, Leon. You're not someone who abuses strength, power, or wealth."

"For nearly nineteen years, you've never used money or admiration to do bad things."

"Just like me!" Tony added, slipping in a bit of self-praise.

"So, what's your plan for the future?"

At that moment, Tony really seemed like a concerned father advising a son entering adulthood.

His words carried a deeper worry—that sudden power might corrupt Leon, turning him reckless like a nouveau riche.

Leon found it a bit condescending.

But he had to admit—Tony, setting aside his arrogance, truly cared.

And that was touching.
