Supreme Mage In The Reverse World

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 : 'Absolutely not!'

The cab came to a stop in front of a massive mansion. As Alex stepped out, he took a deep breath and looked around at the familiar surroundings. After making the payment through his mobile, he started walking toward the grand estate.

The Dawson family—his family—was one of the four great families in Sian Country. They were widely known for their luxury brand, Sona, which specialized in high-end products sold nationwide. He recalled his father's plans to expand the brand into neighboring countries.

A small smile appeared on Alex's face as he stepped through the gates. The guards at the entrance didn't stop him upon recognizing him—after all, he was the young master of the Dawson family. As he stepped through the main door, his eyes landed on a man dressed in simple clothes, wiping down the dining table. Years of separation made emotions swell in Alex's chest, and he couldn't stop himself from calling out.

"Dad!"

He threw himself into his father's embrace, wrapping his arms around him tightly.

On the other hand, Liam Dawson, Alex's father, wore a strange expression on his face. He patted his son's back and said, "Isn't it only been a single night since you were away? Why are you acting so clingy?" Despite his words, when he noticed Alex not letting go, he sighed and returned the hug.

However, as he held his son, he suddenly caught a faint scent of a woman's fragrance lingering on Alex's body. His expression darkened instantly. Pushing his son away, he scolded, "Didn't you say you were staying over at a male classmate's house? Don't tell me you actually went to a female classmate's place instead? How many times have I told you—someone as delicate and pretty as you shouldn't be wandering around carelessly! It's dangerous! Yes, I know she's your classmate, but girls can be rebellious too! Some young ladies are even worse!"

Liam grabbed a nearby newspaper, pointing at a headline with a bitter look. "Look at this! 'A 15-year-old boy deceived by a female student, secretly filmed in an inappropriate video!'

"This poor guy's future is ruined. The video is still circulating online, and because of that, he had to move his entire family to another city!" Liam sighed and shook his head. "Your sister already fools around all day and gets into all sorts of trouble at her college. She hasn't even graduated, yet she acts like she owns the house! Your mother and I have already given up on her. Now, we only hope that you can grow up properly and not bring shame to the Dawson family name. You're still young, so don't be fooled by bad women. In the future—"

Alex didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He had indeed made an excuse to stay out for the night, but hearing his father's dramatic worries, he quickly made up another excuse. "Father, I know. You don't have to worry about me. I just tried on some women's perfume because my friend had it at his house. That's all."

Liam gave him a suspicious look but didn't press further. "Hmph, fine. Anyway, your mother is in the garden discussing business. It's not easy to run a company these days, and she's struggling."

In his previous life, his father had been the head of the family and a busy businessman, but now, the roles were reversed. His mother was the one handling everything, while his father had become a full-time househusband.

Alex sighed. He understood why. Ever since the Imperial City took control over Sian Country, the Dawson family had suffered the most. The imperial family disliked the power held by the four great families and did everything they could to suppress them. As a result, the Dawson family had been in decline, and his mother was doing her best to keep their business afloat.

Looking at his father, who was now focused on household chores instead of business, Alex smiled bitterly. "It's time for breakfast. I'll go call my sister."

He made his way to his sister's room and stopped in front of her door, which had a large poster of a female fighter plastered on it. He reached for the handle, but before he could knock, the door suddenly swung open.

A tall, beautiful young woman stepped out. She had long black hair, a sharp and well-defined face, and a confident aura that could turn heads anywhere. She looked like the type of college beauty who would leave men stunned in her presence.

Alex smiled at her, but before he could say anything, his sister dashed forward and hugged him tightly. "My cute little brother! Where did you go last night? I didn't see you at the dining table!"

Alex, who was being squeezed so tightly that he could barely breathe, caught the distinct scent of sweat from his sister. 'Oh no... What has my caring elder sister turned into? Some kind of thug who doesn't like to bathe?' he thought to himself. Still, he felt warmth in his heart seeing her again.

"Sis... you're suffocating me." He muttered weakly, surprised by how strong she was. 'why does she seem way stronger than a normal girl in this world?'

Hearing his weak complaint, Lucy Dawson, his elder sister, quickly released him and looked at him with concern. "Are you okay?"

Alex coughed a little. 'My body is really weak... I need to regain my magic quickly.'

"I'm fine." He reassured her before changing the topic. "Dad's calling. Its time to eat breakfast."

At the mention of their father, Lucy seemed to stiffen slightly. After a brief moment, she waved her hand dismissively. "You go ahead. I'll come later."

With that, she turned around, entered her room, and shut the door behind her.

Alex stared at the closed door, feeling something was off about his sister's behavior, but he decided to let it go for now. Shaking his head, he turned around and headed back toward the dining area, looking forward to having breakfast with his family once again.

Alex went back to the dining area and sat down. His mother, who was in the kitchen, looked at him strangely. She remembered that Alex, being a man, had always helped her, but today, he seemed unwilling to step into the kitchen.

On the other hand, for Alex, it was completely normal not to help because he had never stepped into the kitchen or assisted his mother in his past life.

A while later, his sister changed her clothes and came out. Walking into the living room, she impatiently called out. "Dad, I'm having breakfast with friends today. I'll be back late tonight too."

"You've been home for half a month without going to college, and every day, you stay out until at least 2 AM before coming back. Have you ever considered your future and our family's reputation?"

Their father walked out, carrying a few pancakes. Upon hearing his daughter's words, his cheeks trembled in anger.

"Tch." Lucy raised her eyebrows and snorted coldly. "Men are so short-sighted! Father, I'm staying out so I can learn new things and build connections. My friends and I are thinking of starting a business venture."

Saying that, she stretched out her hand and said frivolously. "Father, give me 50 thousand dollars first."

"What?"

"Come on, it's a business venture. You can't just start it with empty pockets!"

"You—!"

Liam was nearly driven mad. His nostrils flared as he glared at her. "You… If only you were as clever as your brother, your mother and I wouldn't have to worry so much!"

"Hmph, what's there to learn from him? A boy only needs to be quiet. Just marry a rich woman, and everything will be fine. But for me? I have to fight for my own business. And now, I have friends in business—they're teaching me."

Lucy shook her head sullenly before continuing, "Besides, I still have to support you and Mother. But him? He'll just marry and become part of another family. So, Father, can't you treat me better?"

Looking at his daughter's exasperating attitude, their father felt heartbroken, but in the end, he couldn't hold back his nagging. Begrudgingly, he pulled out a card and gave it to Lucy. Although their family was in decline, fifty thousand dollars were not a big deal.

"Use it wisely. Women should go out and socialize, but don't let yourself be taken advantage of. Do you really think your drinking buddies are reliable?"

"Ah, Father, do you take me for a fool?"

Raising the card, Lucy laughed smugly before slipping into her high heels and strutting out of the house.

"Oh my God…"

Alex took a deep breath, a vein twitching on his forehead.

'Was this really the quiet and reserved elder sister from his past life?!'

"Alex, don't learn any bad habits from your sister!"

Their father turned his head and said sternly.

"Father, are you really letting Sister act like this?" Alex looked dumbfounded.

"What else can I do? She's a girl—can I keep her tied up at home like I did with you? Women should go out and experience the world. But your sister's temper… Forget it. As long as she doesn't cause trouble."

Father sighed and returned to the kitchen to serve breakfast, while Alex remained speechless.

Just then, his mother, Olivia Dawson, walked in, her face looking weary. She had long black hair like Lucy, and her beautiful face had a few wrinkles, probably due to a lack of sleep and stress. She was wearing a black business-style suit.

"Mom!"

After 200 years, seeing his mother again—even though she looked different from his memories—her familiar face made Alex excitedly rush forward to greet her.

"Alex."

Olivia looked at her son, who had thrown himself into her arms. Her face immediately softened, and she chuckled. "See? Sons really are their mother's little darlings. Look at our good son—so affectionate! Tell me, do you need more pocket money?"

With that, she grinned and stuffed a card into Alex's hands.

Alex was stunned.

In his past life, his mother had been extremely frugal. Even scamming a thousand dollars from her to throw a party for his friends took endless persuasion!

"Mother, I don't need it."

Shaking his head, Alex refused. He knew his mother was working hard to keep the family from collapsing. Even if it was just a little money, he didn't want to waste it.

Looking into Alex's eyes, his mother seemed to notice something.

"Silly boy, just take it. Our family might be struggling, but it's not to the point that I can't give you money. Your academic performance is really good this year, so consider this a reward."

"Where's Lucy?" Olivia asked casually.

"Don't even mention it. She went out to mess around again." At Liam's words, Olivia shook her head and sighed.

"Hah, she's just messing around. Didn't I grow up the same way?"

After saying that, she tossed her briefcase onto the sofa, sat down carefreely, and squinted at her husband.

"I'm alright now, aren't I? Boys should be raised rich, while girls should be raised tough. That girl—what big trouble could she possibly get into? It's not something I can't solve! Girls only become sensible after experiencing hardships."

"Yes, yes, you're right, dear."

Watching his father eagerly pour water, serve tea, and even bring food to Mother, Alex felt a surge of weirdness.

'Is this really life for men in this world?!'

Would his future be the same?

'Absolutely not!'
