Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Rebuilding Bloodshade City

 A City in Ruins

With the Shadow Serpent Sect retreating, Bloodshade City was finally free. But freedom came at a cost—the city was in shambles. Buildings lay in ruins, the streets were cracked, and the few remaining civilians watched from the shadows, hesitant to step forward.

Lin Feng stood at the city center, arms crossed. "This place needs serious repairs."

Zhang Wei nodded. "The Shadow Serpent Sect didn't just take over; they nearly destroyed everything."

Mei Ling sighed. "We saved the city, but without order, it'll fall into chaos again."

Lin Feng smirked. "Then let's make sure that doesn't happen."

He turned to his disciples. "From today onward, Bloodshade City is under the protection of the Supreme Sect!"

The system's voice rang in his mind:

"New mission: Establish Supreme Sect's rule over Bloodshade City. Rewards: Sect Expansion +1, Disciples' Cultivation Speed +10%."

Lin Feng's grin widened. "Looks like we're in for some hard work."

Restoring Order

Lin Feng divided the tasks among his disciples:

Zhang Wei led a group to clear debris and rebuild structures. Mei Ling gathered the remaining civilians, offering them protection. Chen Bo ensured the security of the city, watching for any hidden threats.

As work began, the civilians slowly emerged. Many had lost their homes, but seeing Lin Feng and his sect working tirelessly gave them hope.

An elderly man approached. "You're different from the last rulers. You actually care about the people."

Lin Feng smiled. "A city is only as strong as its people."

The old man nodded. "If you truly mean that, then you have my support."

System notification:

"Bloodshade City's loyalty to Supreme Sect increased by 10%."

A New Threat?

Just as things seemed to be going smoothly, a scout rushed over. "Sect Leader! A group of unknown cultivators is approaching the city!"

Lin Feng's eyes narrowed. "How strong?"

"Mid-tier Void Realm at best."

Lin Feng sighed in relief. "Not too bad."

A few moments later, a group of ten cultivators arrived, dressed in elegant robes with a Flaming Lotus emblem on their chests.

Their leader, a tall woman with a piercing gaze, stepped forward. "I am Xu Yue, representative of the Flaming Lotus Sect. We've been watching Bloodshade City, and we have an offer."

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow. "I don't do business with people who show up uninvited."

Xu Yue smirked. "Then let's just say we're here to test you."

Before Lin Feng could react, she moved—vanishing in a blur and appearing right before him, striking with a Blazing Palm Technique.

Lin Feng barely dodged, feeling the heat from the attack. His smirk returned. "You should've asked if I wanted to spar first."

Xu Yue grinned. "Then let's make it official. If you can land a single hit on me, we'll consider an alliance."

Lin Feng's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Deal."

The Duel Begins

Xu Yue was fast—her movements like fire itself, unpredictable and fierce. Lin Feng activated his Heavenly Mirage Step, weaving through her attacks, looking for an opening.

The two exchanged blows at high speed, their battle illuminating the city.

Lin Feng finally saw his chance. Channeling Void Lightning Qi, he feinted left and suddenly appeared behind her. Before she could react, he tapped her shoulder lightly with a crackling finger.

Zap!

Xu Yue froze, her body tingling from the light shock. Then, she laughed. "I see why you're the Supreme Sect's leader."

Lin Feng smirked. "Does that mean we have an alliance?"

Xu Yue crossed her arms. "I'll admit, I'm impressed. We'll discuss terms soon."

The system's voice rang:

"New alliance formed: Supreme Sect & Flaming Lotus Sect. Rewards: Sect Reputation +5%, Cultivation Technique Upgrade."

Lin Feng chuckled. "Not a bad day after all."

But deep down, he knew that more powerful forces would take notice of his growing influence.

And not all of them would come in peace.
