Chapter 6: Chapter 6: The Truth
Chapter 6
It's funny to say, but Raka didn't feel anything before.
However, after recalling the previous events, his eyes felt a sharp pain, accompanied by various negative reactions.
Along with the pain, Raka experienced strange memories that were not his own.
As he delved into these memories, Raka's head throbbed intensely, as if a knife were being repeatedly thrust back and forth inside his skull.
This excruciating experience continued until Raka was rendered numb.
After some time, Raka finally recovered from the pain.
Yet, instead of feeling relieved, he was left even more confused and empty after absorbing those strange memories.
Raka felt like he had lost his soul.
He remained motionless for a long time, his eyes vacant, appearing almost vegetative.
The memories he had absorbed had left him utterly bewildered.
He learned that the sword he always carried was a family heirloom, passed down from his grandfather.
His grandfather had found the sword during his youth, and it had been passed down to his father, and finally to Raka.
Initially, the sword seemed ordinary, but it held a secret: it had housed a powerful entity called Banyu Geni for centuries, maybe even millennia.
Banyu Geni was a mysterious substance, born from the natural fusion of water and fire, a perfect embodiment of their combined properties.
This substance was incredibly rare, as elusive as finding a needle in a haystack.
Not only was it scarce, but Banyu Geni possessed numerous benefits, including the ability to strengthen the body and soul, serve as an energy source, and even act as a vessel for souls.
A swordsman from Earth had stumbled upon Banyu Geni by chance.
This was nearly impossible, as Earth was a planet with low levels of celestial and earthly energy, making it extremely difficult for such celestial treasures to manifest.
The swordsman's luck was extraordinary.
He merged himself with Banyu Geni, becoming one with the undying entity. In a way, he achieved immortality.
However, his immortality was flawed. His carbon-based human body was still subject to decay and aging.
To overcome this limitation, the swordsman divided himself into three Banyu Geni seeds, implanting them in talented infants.
Meanwhile, he embarked on a quest to transcend his mortal limitations, challenging the very "sky" itself.
The swordsman believed that the "sky" represented the planet's consciousness, a being that had emerged over countless eons.
He reasoned that to break free from his carbon-based form in a world with such thin celestial energy, he had to confront and overcome the "sky" before he could evolve into a higher being.
Sadly, as Raka had witnessed in his dreams, the swordsman was defeated and consumed by a natural disaster unleashed by the sky.
Though he perished, the swordsman's legacy lived on through his three clones.
The first clone became a warrior, possessing the strength of a tiger and the endurance of a bear. He excelled not only in combat but also in medicine, making him a formidable force wherever he went.
The second clone became an assassin, as swift and deadly as a snake. He was a master of disguise and used his skills to torment his enemies with his deadly concoctions.
The final clone became a scholar, as wise and stable as an old turtle. His vast knowledge in various fields made him a respected authority.
Initially, the clones were unaware of their connection to each other. However, as they neared the end of their lives, they realized their shared heritage.
They united their fire and water, ultimately passing Banyu Geni onto a newborn child.
The child imbued with the power of Banyu Geni, became a prodigy. However, the world had changed, and the child did not follow the martial arts path of his predecessors.
Occasionally, he had dreams of his past lives, sparking his interest in martial arts.
But it was too late. The immense soul power of Banyu Geni had made him a genius, but it also burdened his mortal body, forcing it to endure the weight of five souls at once.
His body began to crumble under the strain.
Before succumbing to his fate, the genius figure placed Banyu Geni, bound to the five souls, within a sword, hoping to cultivate a suitable vessel for them.
Raka's grandfather acquired the sword during his youth. The sword, infused with Banyu Geni, subtly influenced him, causing him to dream of becoming a swordsman.
Through constant use of the sword, its influence gradually contaminated the minds of its users.
This pattern continued through generations, culminating in Raka.
While the sword's influence might seem sinister, it also brought benefits to Raka and his family.
To prepare a suitable vessel, the sword guided them through rigorous training regimens, enhancing their bodies.
As a result, Raka and his family developed exceptional physical fitness, leading to Raka's placement in an elite class.
The sword's plan was intricate, spanning generations. It aimed to improve the physical bodies of its chosen vessels, then subtly manipulate their minds through dreams, limiting their cognition and making them vulnerable to its influence.
The plan seemed flawless, as Raka and his family remained oblivious to its true nature.
Under normal circumstances, the sword soul would have easily taken control of Raka's body.
However, due to Raka's mischievous nature and a series of fortunate coincidences, he managed to escape this fate.
Raka's thoughts drifted back to the strange, transparent crystal he had obtained from the rat.
He was consumed by curiosity about its true nature.
Unable to decipher the crystal's purpose, Raka once again retreated into silence.
He knew he was Raka, but he also felt like the swordsman, the warrior, the assassin, the scholar, and the genius child. This overwhelming sense of identity left him confused.
The more he pondered, the more questions arose.
He began to doubt his true identity, wondering if he was truly Raka or one of the five invading souls.
The questions swirling in his mind, coupled with the dawning awareness, left him bewildered and grappling with an identity crisis.
Raka lost in confusion, retreated into silence once more.
Unable to grasp his own identity, he turned his thoughts to the body he inhabited.
He remembered that he was Raka Ardiansyah, a second-year high school student who had recently undergone a coming-of-age ceremony.
He had two loving parents, Lidya Wicaksono and Rafi Ardiansyah, who worked on their family farm.
He had two twin sisters, Lisa and Lusi Ardiansyah, both in second grade of junior high school, and a younger brother, Reza Ardiansyah, in first grade.
His family was ordinary, unremarkable.
Raka's mind raced, processing the chaotic jumble of thoughts.
Unconsciously, his gaze drifted towards the window.
He saw a magnificent tower in the distance, its grandeur captivating him.
As he looked, a surge of information flooded his mind.
This world was not the Earth where the swordsman had originated, but a different Earth.
Initially, this Earth was a planet based on science and technology. However, about a hundred years ago, a mirage appeared, manifesting as a massive tower that could be seen from anywhere.
The people witnessed this phenomenon with a mixture of fear and awe. They wondered if it was a sign of the apocalypse, a harbinger of monstrous creatures, or a prelude to an alien invasion.
Some lost hope and descended into despair, temporarily abandoning their humanity.
As the world teetered on the brink of chaos, the "apocalypse" they feared materialized.
The tower mirage, seemingly both present and absent, was a tangible illusion. It lacked a physical form, yet its presence could be felt. Humans could somehow enter the tower and interact with its strange world.
Inside the tower, a realm of powerful beings and alien landscapes awaited, instilling fear in the hearts of those who dared to venture within.
Simultaneously, monstrous creatures of unknown origin began to appear in seemingly random locations, from the depths of the ocean and isolated mountains to bustling cities.
Though the source of these monsters remained a mystery, most people believed they were connected to the illusionary tower.
However, despite this knowledge, humans struggled to find a way to harness this information for their benefit.
The world descended further into chaos.
Even with advanced thermal weapons and other sophisticated technology, humans were plagued by anxieties about the destruction of their homes.
Guerilla warfare proved insufficient against the relentless alien invasion.
The world was in a state of turmoil.
Finally, a group of individuals turned to ancient practices, once dismissed as pseudoscience, to strengthen their bodies and combat abilities.
These practices proved effective, allowing humans to regain control of their world. Yet, they could not afford to relax. Powerful monsters continued to emerge, as persistent as mushrooms after a rain shower.
Realizing that they could not afford to be complacent, humans intensified their efforts.
Researchers dedicated themselves to developing methods for enhancing human strength.
Numerous methods emerged, and the world community united to pool their knowledge and resources.
They discovered a method to resonate the energy of the human soul and body with objects or creatures within the tower, using specific wave frequencies.
This resonation allowed humans to better understand supernatural energy and learn how to manipulate it for their benefit.
This method offered a more efficient and effective way to enhance human strength, providing a structured approach to development and cultivation.
However, some individuals were disappointed to discover that their soul and body energy frequencies were compatible with things that were not considered "strong."
As the saying goes, "When one door closes, another window opens."
But for these individuals, navigating through the window proved more challenging than walking through a door.
They could still focus on ancient practices that strengthened either their soul or body, rather than pursuing virtual resonance, which combined the soul, body, and traces of tower magic.
However, these single-minded practices were more difficult and generally weaker than the more balanced approach. Only a select few geniuses in each field could successfully utilize single-minded practices as their primary source of power.
Raka's thoughts returned to his own "inferior" virtual resonance.
He began to condense the virtual resonance energy in his hand.
As the energy coalesced, Raka was taken aback.
"What's happening?" he exclaimed, his voice filled with confusion and a hint of alarm.
