The Backbender (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

Filled with a chilly undertone as Appa flies through the air. The sky is dark, and the sea is turbulent, showing the dangers of the ocean. 

In the distance, a magnificent city stands proud and strong, with boats, Warriors, and benders. The whole town is made from ice and canals the water benders made.

On top of Appa, Kanuk smiled as he watched the city. They have finally arrived at the North Water tribe. It was useless now since Katara and Fei had him as a teacher.

But even he does not have things like healing. Katara watched the water tribe with wide eyes, her emotions overflowing as she watched the city get closer.

"How do you feel?" Kanuk turned to Katara and asked with a smile. Katara smiled as she looked at Kanuk. She smiled as she embraced him in a hug, Fei watched with a smile.

"It feels different from our tribe... It feels like what the water tribe should look like." Katara looked at the far distance and smiled as the boats and benders guarded the city.

Kanuk smiled as he turned around. He spread his current sense and covered half the city from the distance. Kanuk could sense powerful benders in the city. One was at the gate.

"Are you girls ready?" Kanuk asked with a smile. Katara and Fei nodded, and Appa flew faster as they reached the city in a few minutes. The guards at the gate looked up from the city walls.

"Up there!"

"A huge animal is flying towards us!"

"Shoot it down!"

"No! Stop that!" Chief Arnook Shouted to stop the benders as he watched the Bison come closer to the walls. His eyes caught the people on top of the Bison.

The benders stop trying to shoot Appa down, and they watch while on guard as Appa flies over the wall and steps down on the cold ground, with Kanuk smirking.

"Yo! How's it going?" Chief Arnook smiled as he walked down the walls. Katara and Fei followed Kanuk as they jumped down from the back of Appa.

"Good to meet you. We have heard about you from rumours. You travel with the avatar." Chief Arnook said as he looked at Fei behind Kanuk.

"Bingo! You got it right. I need to meet the best trainer here. I want him to guide Katara and Fei in water bending." Kanuk introduced himself as he walked to Chief Arnook.

He stretched out his hand and shook hands with Arnook. Who smiled as he led them deeper into the city. They soon reached a part and arrived where young benders were being trained.

Training the kids was an older man. Kanuk smiled as he watched, while Katara noticed how no girls were training with the older man.

"This is Master Pakku. He is the best water bender and trainer in the water tribe." Chief Arnook explains while the training finally comes to an end. Pakku turns and notices the three.

"Chief Arnook. What brings you here?" Pakku says as he walks up to the three. He looks at Katara, Fei and Kanuk with confusion since he has never seen them.

"Master Pakku. This is Kanuk, this is Katara, and this is called Fei. She is the avatar." Arnook explains with a smile. Pakku nods his head and waits for him to continue.

"They would like to train under you. The avatar needs strength to defeat the Fire Lord!" Pakku instantly narrowed his eyes as she looked at Fei. She could not be taught.

"No. Women are only allowed to learn healing. Not combat-related bending." Pakku instantly says as he turns to walk away. He looks at Karnuk and motions for him to follow him.

"I can train you. Follow me." Pakku said, and Kanuk had to hold himself back to stop himself from laughing. Did he seriously say that he can teach him?

"But can you arrange some trainers to teach Fei and Katara to be taught how to heal?" Pakku nodded his head, and Chief Arnook instantly nodded his head.

Kanuk follows Pakku with Fei and Katara. Along the way, he suddenly spots a girl with white hair and brown skin peeking at him from behind a corner.

"Boo!"

"ARGHH!!!" Princess Yue shrieks as she hears a sound from behind her. She turns around but sees nothing. Her scream attracts Pakku and the team.

"Princess Yue!" Pakku runs towards the scream, and they find Princess Yue on the ground. Kanuk walked towards her and held his hand out for her to get up.

"Sorry. That was me. I noticed you peeking and thought I would prank you. My bad." Princess Yue looks up, and she feels her cheeks get hot as she sees Kanuk's deep blue eyes.

"O-ok. No problem." Fei and Ktara look at each other and suddenly feel like a nostalgic moment happened. Fei smiled, and Katara sighed as she rubbed her temple.

"Looks like there is gonna be a third!" Kanuk looks back in confusion at Katara and Fei and blushes as he rubs his temple. Yue smiles as she stands up.

Her palm rubbed against Kanuk's palm. She felt the warmth and felt her heart beat faster. Suddenly, she notices her father is behind Kanuk, looking at her.

"Yue, why are you outside?" Arnook said as he walked next to Kanuk. His eyes noticed Yue's red cheeks and had a bad feeling.

Yue is already in an arranged marriage with someone else if his daughter starts gaining feelings for Kanuk. Then that would be trouble.

"See you later, princess. I hope to have some more conversations with you." Kanuk bows slightly and smiles as he lets her hand go gently. Yue blushes while nodding her head.

"See you later..." Yue placed her hand on her chest and watched Pakku take the three of them away. Chief Arnook stayed behind and sighed as he turned to his daughter.

"You... You already know you can't fall in love with him. Besides, you barely met him." Yue blushed as she tried to deny it, but her heart started beating faster as Arnook mentioned being in love.

"N-no, I don't... Though I wouldn't mind." Yue muttered the last point to herself as she watched Kanuk walk away. He turned around and winked at her, causing Yue to blush.

In another place...

General Zhao stood on a ship, watching as warships of the fire nations got ready to Siege the North Water tribe. Zhao scoffs as he turns around, his ugly ass looking into the distance.

"The avatar is mine. I wonder what face that bastard Zuko will make~," Zaho muttered as he looked at a paper in his hand. It describes the places where Kanuk and the team went.

Zhao sent trackers and assassins to look after the avatar, and he got results from his trackers and assassins.

Kanuk, of course, knew, but he let it happen since he wanted the siege of the North Water tribe to happen. It's his chance to finally spread his name in 1 nation at least.

"Soon, very soon...Muhahaha!!"
