Chapter 2: Runaway
8 years later. In an old building, a young dark haired boy with a fair but rough face was gazing aimlessly outside the windows, sitting in his desk. In that room, were other desks with more children similar to him. And a Nun-Like Old woman was teaching and instructing the children about how to serve and be subservient to the Noble People.
'So Boring... Ah I wish I could just play any game right now. I miss my PC.' Sam Spoke, while still gazing out the windows. He was thinking about his past world as his life here mostly bored someone like him.
Growing up, with other children, in these old buildings cluttered together on the outskirts of a Noble County. Where the poor or orphaned children would be taken in and taught to become servants of noble people, as being a slave was much worse. All the kids are already brainwashed from an early age and things were the norm for them here.
It wasn't the case for Sam, but the reason he was here was that he was orphaned as his mother died after giving birth... or so he was told. 'Well whatever... It's not like I could care much about someone who would leave me somewhere like this. But still this new world is too much of a strain on a always-in-his-room loner like me. This old medieval like world looks too realistic but also out of a fantasy. But what really interested me was obviously the Magic... or whatever it is here.'
Throughout the years, he had seen many examples of this, the magical energies of this world. People using little bits of magic with their chores in those old buildings. Wierd and Magical Creatures flying and running by sometimes. The guards swung their sword filled with energy of many different types that always fascinated him.
'But these geezers don't even care to tell me even something about it. Of course why would they when they want me to only submit and serve.' Sam thinks with a rough expression, he turns his gaze back to the lesson about to end. 'Well if they won't tell me then I'll do it myself!'
The childrens started rushing out of the room while Sam stayed behind. 'I heard there's a merchant carriage coming in this week...' he thinks while jotting down something devious in his mind.

2 days later. The Road was very bumpy, but the carriage finally reached it's destination. A rough looking young boy sneaked out of one of the carriage before anyone even got out to be relieved on reaching there. He immediately ran to an alleyway and first thing he did was, Crack his Back.
'Ahh... Bloody Hell. So long and so cramped. I can't believe I had to hide in the carriage where they stuffed stuff so much that no one could even be in it.' he looked back and then at the alleyway. 'Finally, I'm Free... Obviously not. Haaah... It's too much of a hassle but I guess I'll have to make my way on these streets somehow.'
He walked through the alleyway and looped out in a bustling crowd filled street. 'Ahh so this is the commercial district of the County those mercenaries were babbling on the way. Well at least I can explore freely now. Hehe.'
Excitedly, Sam hopped around the long and big street. Filled with hawkers and vendors from everywhere and Squeezing his way through some big figures. He gazed at all the trinkets and little things he could find.
A rough looking gauntlet with scales, A sword permeating the air with a dark energy, Magic stones that a vendor demonstrated its use in some other artifact, Mage staffs, Pills, Demon Teeths, Guns... 'Wha-What?!' he immediately turned back to look at the vendor he just passed by abruptly.
The black casing weapon look surreal and out of place among the other little magical items. 'What the... What is this doing here. I thought this was a magical medieval world. I never expected a Gun out of the blue. So wierd..'
The Burly looking middle aged vendor noticed Sam gawking over the weapon as if he would lick it away out of excitement. Seeing the rough appearance of Sam, he immediately spoke in a rough and loud voice. "Shoo away boy. Go bring your daddy next time, well if you have one. Don't even think of pulling something over my things, these muscles are not for show. Now go ahead and get away."
Sam immediately looked up, "Oh.. Sorry... Um... I was wondering where you got this one from or do you know anything about it?" He asked eagerly while pointing at the gun.
"Hah... So you noticed it too huh. Well I must say it took me quite a while and a lot of gambling to finally buy it. This fine black piece of weapon can blast any person much less a kid like you. Imported especially from those southern people. Forget about it kid, this one is not for sale, even for commoners. I have kept it for show. Now go away because if you try to even touch, you will get zapped to death, I have placed a special seal over it. Now stop gawking, you are holding the place for my customers or do I have to make you myself." He said while holding his hands in a stern pose.
Sam immediately walked away. 'What was that, so rude. But much more, the southern people?... Atleast the function is clear that it can blast or shoot someone. Well I gotta get more know-how about this world atleast.'

Taverns. A place where exhausted people coming back from work or an adventure can drink away freely with relief, without discrimination and also not minding about themselves or their actions too much. Sam stood outside the biggest one he could find on those streets.
'The only way to do this is to let some of them drunkards spill it out. Whatever it is atleast I will get something out of it today. Besides it's late too... maybe I'll ask the bartender of this tavern for something later.'
He went inside the tavern and was immediately surprised by the chaotic scenery of it all. Men and women alike, and even some non human looking people were there, drinking freely and chatting with each other. With how cramped up the place was, Sam squeezed his way through without attention.
'Holy Shit... This is too much.' he somehow wiggled his way out and stood in a corner. He managed his breathe back and sat in one of the table he saw which was free. 'Ohh my... This is no place for a kid like me. Why couldn't I be reincarnated somewhere better?!'
Ignoring his angry remark, Sam brought his composure back. He finally looked over it whole as much as he could. In the corners were drunk couples making out freely. On most of the tables, either people were passed out or still drinking while chatting. A group of Adventurers there. A group of Snake looking people on another table. He looked more and more for any clue or someone to rely on, until his ears subconsciously picked upon a conversation near him.
A fat and rough looking man downed a whole jug of beer in one go. "Ahhhh... This Beer. So good... I didn't knew this tavern made strong stuff like this."
"Yeah they didn't, It came from the southern continent. Remember about the new trade routes." A short guy replied by his side while burping.
"I can't believe that Old Man is doing stuff like this. Being friendly and all with the Four! Forget it, I'm sure people will revolt back. We don't need anything from the other four continents." Another one replied.
A woman on that table flicked the forehead of the one who was angry, "You will always be a dork huh. We don't need them, but it's much better this way. Atleast we can all get to know each other more and maybe we can learn secrets of those continents."
The short man replied back this time, "Get to know each other? Secrets?! Forget it. They are all coming here since they can't handle the situation of their continents themselves. They will harm our continent even more. After all that dumb ruler went ahead and gave the approval of letting them into the Fate Selection!! I can't believe it... it's as if he wants to give them our secrets himself."
The fat guy burped, "Ahh... Sure the Emperor has gotten old and maybe got a few more screws loose over time. But I don't think it's that bad of a decision. Don't be too sad shorty, remember they will bring gifts for all of us Hahaha. After all I love the southern continent people more because of this new beer they are importing to us. Come on now drink up Haha."
"Hehe...You do become someone else while drunk huh, fatty." The woman replied while reaching for his pockets and giggling.
'Such a hassle... these people... what a situation they are in. Also Now I got to get even more knowledge, considering what these drunkards are speaking about if it's true. Fucking Hell to this reincarnation.' Sam thought while banging his head on the table.
