Chapter 105: Boggart of Marie
We were all in line to face the DADA boggart.
The charm to defeat the boggart is very easy; the only problem would be resisting our fears while casting the charm.
The boggart has turned into many animals, plants, or other things.
But unlike my brother, no boggart has taken the appearance of Professor Snape. Although I respect him a lot, I would have liked to be present to see his boggart dressed as a grandmother.
"Perfect, now it's your turn, Marie."
During the entire practical session, Marie tried to think of her biggest fear but couldn't. Normally, either the boggart would be easy to overcome or very difficult because she might have a fear hidden deep within herself.
The boggart, exhausted by all the laughter since the beginning of the week, froze before the girl, trembling violently.
"She doesn't scare the boggart?"
Even though some assumed otherwise, I had a deep feeling of unease, as if something terrible was about to happen.
After being shaken for ten seconds, the boggart disappeared, and the room transformed.
Everything turned black, and luminous spheres appeared all around the room.
Looking into one of the spheres, I saw something, and my eyes narrowed when I realized what I was looking at.
I had a dream which, after talking to Mary, I understood was the same as hers—where I was a little brother and had a protective older sister whom I idolized.
Why am I mentioning this? Because inside the sphere, there was a confrontation between the brother and his older sister. The fight was not friendly; their eyes were filled with murderous intent.
Moreover, their battle was so fast that I could not understand what was happening.
Another sphere caught my attention because inside was an image of an older Mary and a blonde woman kneeling before a beautiful red-haired woman seated on a throne.
"Son, are you ready to take over the country and take Freya as your wife?"
"Yes, Mother."
The sphere disappeared, and I looked at others that were just as interesting.
One showed the brother I had incarnated in the dream in three versions, all kneeling before a beautiful woman as she made her declaration of love.
Another one showed Marie with a version of herself but who had short hair. Now that I think about it, the one with short hair looked more like the person who had been kneeling beside the blonde woman.
Some spheres even showed anime, like Dragon Ball and Demon Slayer.
I could no longer tell what was real, what had already happened, what was yet to come, and what was purely fictional.
A blue sphere began to shine, resting on a pedestal with the word Justice inscribed on it.
Inside this sphere, I saw the life of a malnourished child, mistreated by everyone and on the verge of death when someone suddenly appeared before him.
"Why is life unfair?"
The words came from the boy, and even though he was weak, the person before him had heard him.
"Only the strong can decide what justice is. Even if their actions are unjust, they can claim to practice justice because there is no one and nothing to stop them."
I agreed with that voice. Even if it was difficult to admit, it was the reality everywhere.
"If you no longer want to live like this, then become strong. Destroy everything that is unjust and impose your own justice on others."
The person turned toward the sphere, and my blood ran cold—it was the same eyes as the one with a terrifying shadow.
"Noooo! It's not my fault! Disappear!"
There was a huge explosion, and we were all thrown to the ground.
As I got up, I turned to Marie, who had a pale look in her eyes and was trembling.
Looking around, there was no longer any boggart. I guessed that she had used all her power to make it disappear, but I would have to understand why she had reacted that way.
