Qi Xia’s expression was troubled. He had just tried to pull out the harpoon, but its barbs were too intricate, making it nearly impossible to remove from the body.
Watching the blood gush out, Qi Xia felt a wave of dizziness.

Were they really dead?
Could the dead still get injured?
Qi Xia steadied his mind. Now wasn’t the time to ponder such questions. He needed to cut the rope immediately.

All the harpoons were slowly retracting. How could he use another harpoon to cut Han Yimo’s rope?
The only certainty was that once all the ropes °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° retracted into the wall, the harpoons would disappear, and Han Yimo would die.
“We need to get our hands on one of the harpoons… but how?” Qi Xia frowned, quickly scanning his surroundings.

He had no choice but to gamble again.
He grabbed two of the slowly retracting harpoons from the ground and swiftly tied their ropes together with a tight knot.
“Hey! Stop crowding around Han Yimo,” Qi Xia called out. “Do what I’m doing! We need to keep at least one harpoon.”

Lin Qin immediately understood his intention and grabbed two harpoons, deftly tying them together with a peculiar knot Qi Xia had never seen before.
But there was no time to dwell on it. Qi Xia focused on the two harpoons in front of him.
As the ropes continued to retract, the two tied ropes were now tightly pulling against each other.

At this rate, it wouldn’t be long before one of the ropes snapped, leaving the other behind.
Qi Xia slowly stepped back. The two ropes were making an eerie creaking sound. If his guess was correct, the snapping rope could potentially injure someone.
Sure enough, a moment later, one of the ropes let out a loud snap and broke.

The other rope, still attached to its harpoon, whipped wildly through the air before slamming into the ground, leaving a deep mark.
Qi Xia rushed forward, hoping to untie the broken rope before the harpoon retracted into the wall.
But he quickly realized that the two ropes, having been subjected to immense tension, were now completely deformed. Not only was it impossible to untie them, but their original shape was barely recognizable.
“I’m done!” Lin Qin shouted from nearby. “Someone strong, come help cut the writer’s rope!”

“Done?”
Qi Xia turned to see that the knot Lin Qin had tied was ingeniously designed to separate automatically when the rope snapped.
Officer Li, who hadn’t even finished tying his initial knot, quickly put down his harpoon and said, “I’ll cut it. Give it to me!”

Taking the harpoon, Officer Li rushed over to Han Yimo, who was now dangerously close to being pulled into the wall.
Fortunately, while the harpoon’s tip was sharp, it also had a fine edge, making it suitable for use as a small knife.
Seeing this, Qiao Jiajin also stepped forward to help. Although Qi Xia had come up with a solution in record time, Han Yimo was now less than half a meter from the wall.

The excruciating pain from the barbs made it impossible for Han Yimo to resist. He could only follow the rope’s pull, or the barbs in his chest would cause unbearable agony.
Officer Li grabbed the rope behind Han Yimo and, after a brief moment of thought, began cutting the section closest to his body with the sharp harpoon.
His hands were steady, each cut precise and accurate.

But the rope was tougher than expected. After several cuts, only a small notch had been made.
He quickly assessed the situation and realized it was more complicated than he thought.
While the rope would eventually be cut, time was of the essence.

In less than a minute, Han Yimo’s body would touch the wall, making it impossible to cut the rope from behind.
“Damn it, not done yet?” Qiao Jiajin asked impatiently. “You’re taking forever! You’re going to get this guy killed!”
“Shut up!” Officer Li snapped coldly, then continued to apply more force.

As Han Yimo’s body inched closer to the wall, beads of sweat formed on Officer Li’s forehead.
His mental fortitude was impressive. Despite the tense and oppressive atmosphere, he didn’t make a single mistake with the small harpoon, each cut landing precisely on the previous notch.
But with Han Yimo now less than thirty centimeters from the wall, Officer Li’s arm could no longer move effectively.

Qiao Jiajin acted quickly, positioning himself behind Han Yimo to cushion him with his own body. This way, while Han Yimo would still suffer some injury, the distance between him and the wall would remain constant for a short while.
“Officer! Hurry!”
Officer Li steadied his breathing and continued cutting. The rope was now more than halfway severed, but still holding.

Han Yimo groaned in agony. The harpoon had pierced through his body, and the barbs were now digging back into his chest. His clothes were soaked in blood, a horrifying sight.
“Am I going to die…?” Han Yimo gritted his teeth. “I’m really going to die, aren’t I? Who’s trying to kill us…?”
“Be a man!” Officer Li said sternly. “Everyone here is trying to save you. Don’t start whining now!”

Han Yimo immediately fell silent. He knew Officer Li was right. Everyone was running around trying to help, and he couldn’t afford to hold them back.
The barbs dug deeper into Han Yimo’s flesh, and he let out a muffled groan, his teeth clenched.
Dr. Zhao quickly grabbed a cloth and stuffed it into Han Yimo’s mouth.

In extreme pain, people could bite through their own teeth.
The group gathered around Han Yimo.
Twenty seconds felt like hours as Officer Li methodically cut through the rope.

Finally, with one last decisive cut, the tough rope snapped.
At the same moment, Han Yimo and Qiao Jiajin both collapsed to the ground from the sudden release of tension.
The others rushed forward to support them.

It seemed Han Yimo’s life had been spared.
Dr. Zhao immediately pulled Han Yimo aside to examine his wounds. The injuries were as expected—the harpoon still needed to be removed from the front.
The most pressing issue now was stopping the bleeding.

After some thought, Dr. Zhao used several cloth strips to plug the wounds around the harpoon.
“Hey, doc, aren’t you going to remove the harpoon?” Qiao Jiajin asked.
“I can’t remove it. He’ll die if I do,” Dr. Zhao said gravely.

“Die?” Qiao Jiajin was confused. He stepped forward and shoved Dr. Zhao. “What the hell? We went through all that trouble, and now you’re not going to save him?”
“I am saving him!” Dr. Zhao snapped, brushing off Qiao Jiajin’s hand. “To put it bluntly, the harpoon is the only thing keeping him alive right now.”
“Why?” Xiao Ran couldn’t help but ask.

“If the harpoon is removed, all that’s left is a gaping wound that will bleed out. Death would be inevitable,” Dr. Zhao explained calmly. “Leaving the harpoon in, while painful, at least prevents him from bleeding to death. The smaller wounds will clot soon and stop bleeding temporarily.”
