The Last Omo Ogun (Son Of War)

Chapter 9: THE LAST STAND

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

The Iron Men charge at Akin.

The ground trembles beneath their heavy steps.

Akin tightens his grip on his stolen sword, his breath steady despite the exhaustion clawing at his body.

But he doesn't back down.

He can't.

His village is watching.

His people need him.

His father needs him.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

Ogunlaja, still wounded, struggles to sit up.

His vision is blurry.

His heart races.

OBA OGUNLAJA

(gritted teeth)

"This… this is impossible…"

But it is happening.

His son—the one the spirits had rejected—is fighting like a god.

And he is winning.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

The first Iron Man swings a hammer at Akin's head.

Akin ducks low, the massive weapon whooshing past him.

With blinding speed, he rolls forward and slashes at the warrior's exposed ankle.

The giant stumbles.

Akin leaps up, planting a foot on its knee—

Then he jumps.

Higher than he ever thought possible.

WHOOSH!

His blade sinks deep into the Iron Man's throat.

Akin lands as the warrior collapses.

The battlefield is silent.

Then—

Arogun's furious roar shatters the night.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

Iwa and Oladele arrive just as Akin fells his second opponent.

Both boys freeze in shock.

IWA

(whispers)

"Akin…"

Oladele's eyes widen.

OLADELE

(softly)

"He's… changed."

They don't know how.

They don't know why.

But one thing is clear—

Akin is not the same boy they grew up with.

And he may never be again.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

The final Iron Man grips his hammer.

He is the biggest of them all.

Twice Akin's size.

But Akin is ready.

He dashes forward.

The giant swings his hammer—

Akin jumps over it.

He lands on the Iron Man's arm—

Then runs up his shoulder.

In one swift motion—

Akin stabs down.

The giant lets out a deep, pained groan.

Then collapses.

The battle is over.

But one enemy still stands.

General Arogun.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

The villagers erupt into cheers.

For the first time in history—

A child without a blessing has defeated the Iron Men.

The elders look at each other.

This is a miracle.

Akin, once an outcast, is now their hero.

But the fight is not over yet.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Akin turns to face General Arogun.

The massive warlord claps slowly.

GENERAL AROGUN

(smiling coldly)

"Impressive."

Akin doesn't flinch.

GENERAL AROGUN

"But you are still just a boy."

Akin raises his blade.

He is ready.

GENERAL AROGUN

"Let's see if you can handle me."

The final battle begins.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Akin stands motionless, sword in hand.

The wind howls around them, carrying the smell of blood and fire.

Across from him, General Arogun watches with a dark smirk.

He is unlike the warriors Akin has faced before.

Taller. Broader.

His armor is thick, engraved with runes that glow faintly in the moonlight.

This is no ordinary man.

He is a monster.

And Akin must defeat him.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

The villagers hold their breath.

Ogunlaja, still weak, grits his teeth.

OBA OGUNLAJA

(softly)

"He's not ready…"

But Akin has no choice.

If he doesn't fight—

Ajilomi falls.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Arogun lunges forward, swinging his massive blade.

WHOOSH!

Akin barely dodges, rolling to the side.

The ground shakes as Arogun's sword slams into the earth.

BOOM!

Akin doesn't hesitate.

He springs up and slashes—

But his blade clashes against Arogun's armor.

CLANG!

It does nothing.

Arogun chuckles.

GENERAL AROGUN

"Too weak."

Then—

He swings his fist.

It connects with Akin's chest.

THUD!

Akin flies backward, crashing into the dirt.

Pain explodes through his body.

He coughs. Blood drips from his lips.

Arogun marches toward him.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

Iwa clutches Oladele's arm.

IWA

"Get up, Akin!"

Oladele's fists clench.

Ogunlaja watches silently.

Something is happening.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Arogun raises his sword high.

The blade gleams under the moonlight.

This will be the final blow.

Akin closes his eyes.

He is too weak.

Too small.

He cannot win.

But then—

Something awakens inside him.

A deep, burning fire.

A whisper echoes in his mind.

???:

"You are not weak."

His heart pounds.

His veins burn.

Arogun swings his blade down.

Akin moves.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

The villagers gasp.

Akin vanishes.

Oba Ogunlaja's eyes widen.

OBA OGUNLAJA

(softly)

"No… he's… too fast…"

Iwa and Oladele stare in shock.

Something is different.

Akin has changed.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Akin appears behind Arogun.

He feels it now.

The power.

It flows through him.

Arogun frowns.

GENERAL AROGUN

"Impossible…"

Akin grins.

Then—

He attacks.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Akin's body feels different.

His heart races, his senses heighten, and the world around him sharpens.

The whispers in his mind grow louder.

???:

"You were never weak. You were simply waiting."

His muscles burn, but it is not pain—it is power.

REAL power.

Arogun glares at him.

GENERAL AROGUN

"You're fast… but it won't save you."

He lunges forward, swinging his colossal sword.

Akin doesn't move.

He waits.

At the last second—

He sidesteps.

Arogun's blade slices through empty air.

Akin strikes.

THWACK!

His fist connects with Arogun's ribs.

For the first time—

Arogun staggers.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

The villagers gasp.

Ogunlaja's eyes narrow.

Iwa and Oladele exchange stunned glances.

IWA

"Did… did he just hurt him?"

OLADELE

(shocked)

"Akin is changing."

Ogunlaja watches closely.

This isn't just speed.

Something greater is waking inside Akin.

But what?

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Arogun grits his teeth.

He looks down—

A faint dent in his armor where Akin struck.

He growls.

GENERAL AROGUN

"Interesting."

Then, with inhuman speed—

He charges again.

But now, Akin sees everything.

Arogun's footwork.

The shift in his shoulders.

The way his wrist tilts before a strike.

It all slows down in Akin's eyes.

He moves before Arogun even swings.

The villagers see nothing but a blur.

Arogun's attacks miss again and again.

His frustration grows.

GENERAL AROGUN

(snaps)

"STAND STILL!"

He swings wildly.

Akin ducks, dodges, weaves.

Then—

BAM!

He lands a powerful elbow strike to Arogun's jaw.

CRACK!

Arogun staggers back.

The crowd erupts.

The unthinkable is happening.

Akin is winning.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

Ogunlaja's grip tightens on his spear.

He has seen hundreds of battles.

He knows what he is witnessing.

OBA OGUNLAJA

(low voice)

"That… is no ordinary strength."

Iwa's eyes widen.

She had believed in Akin.

But this?

This is beyond belief.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

Akin stands tall.

Arogun breathes heavily.

His confidence is cracking.

This boy—

This "weakling"—

Is overpowering him.

Akin's eyes glow faintly.

Something inside him stirs.

Then—

The whispers return.

???:

"Finish it."

Akin lunges.

Arogun swings—

But Akin is faster.

He spins, dodging the strike, and—

THWACK!

Akin's knee smashes into Arogun's ribs.

The General chokes, stumbling back.

Akin doesn't stop.

He closes the gap in an instant.

Then—

With one final blow—

Akin drives his fist straight into Arogun's chest.

BOOM!

Arogun collapses.

The battlefield falls silent.

The mighty General Arogun—

Defeated.

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

The villagers erupt into cheers.

"Akin! Akin! Akin!"

Iwa laughs, eyes wet with relief.

Oladele shakes his head in amazement.

Ogunlaja remains silent.

But his pride is undeniable.

His son—

The boy who was once deemed unworthy—

Has just saved Ajilomi.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

The silence is deafening.

Arogun—Ajilomi's greatest threat—lies motionless on the ground.

Akin stands over him, breathing hard, fists clenched.

His entire body tingles with power.

The whispers in his head have faded, but their presence still lingers.

The villagers stare in shock.

Then—

A deafening roar.

The people of Ajilomi erupt in celebration.

VILLAGERS

"Akin! Akin! Akin!!!"

Iwa runs forward, tears in her eyes.

She throws her arms around Akin.

IWA

"You did it!"

Oladele follows, grinning.

OLADELE

(grinning)

"You fight like a demon!"

Akin barely hears them.

His body still feels strange.

His skin buzzes as if touched by lightning.

He looks down at his hands.

Something is different.

Something has awakened.

But what?

EXT. AJILOMI GATES – NIGHT

Ogunlaja watches without emotion.

The crowd celebrates.

His warriors nod in approval.

But Ogunlaja sees what others do not.

Akin's movements.

His unnatural speed.

The raw power.

This was not normal.

This was something else.

And Ogunlaja does not trust what he does not understand.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – NIGHT

The village gathers around.

The Chief Elder raises his staff.

CHIEF ELDER

"Tonight, Ajilomi stands strong!"

Cheers.

CHIEF ELDER

"And we owe our survival… to Akin!"

The crowd erupts again.

But Akin remains quiet.

His mind is elsewhere.

He looks at Arogun's fallen body.

Then—

Arogun's fingers twitch.

Akin's eyes widen.

The General is not dead.

EXT. AJILOMI BATTLEFIELD – MOMENTS LATER

Arogun groans.

The village gasps.

Slowly, painfully—he rises.

Blood drips from his mouth.

His armor is dented.

His breath is ragged.

But his eyes—

They burn with rage.

Akin steps forward.

Ready to fight again.

But Arogun does not attack.

Instead, he laughs.

A slow, mocking chuckle.

GENERAL AROGUN

(smiling, weakly)

"You… are not ordinary."

Akin stiffens.

The villagers fall silent.

Arogun wipes the blood from his lips.

He stares at Akin.

GENERAL AROGUN

"Tell me, boy… what are you?"

Akin's heart pounds.

He doesn't know the answer.

The whispers in his mind return.

???:

"You will soon find out."

Ogunlaja steps forward.

His voice is calm, but firm.

OBA OGUNLAJA

"Arogun, you have lost."

Arogun chuckles again.

Then, to everyone's shock—

He kneels.

GENERAL AROGUN

"I yield."

Gasps.

Arogun—the merciless warrior—has surrendered.

EXT. AJILOMI VILLAGE SQUARE – LATER

Arogun is bound, but not mistreated.

The villagers celebrate.

Ajilomi is safe.

But Akin feels no relief.

His thoughts are a storm.

Something inside him has changed.

And he must discover what it is.

As he stands in the square, deep in thought—

A voice calls his name.

A familiar, powerful voice.

Ogunlaja.

OBA OGUNLAJA

"Come with me."

The village watches.

Ogunlaja has never acknowledged Akin.

Never recognized him as his son.

But tonight—

Something is different.

And Akin must find out why.
