The Princes second chance

"I need to get out of here or just try lose that thing or I may not even leave this place alive!"

i rush down the long path full of bookshelves with the guardian chasing not to far behind me my heart racing I never stop running

"System is there anything I can do to get away from this thing!"

The system window appears Infront of me I read the text on it while trying to keep my speed so the beast doesn't catch me

"Yes anything to give me distance from that thing!"

The window shifts Infront of me showing me a web of different skills all linked together but with a locked icon on them the skill at the top is unlocked as the system shows the skill

Description: "to unlock this path of shadow for your first mana core you must use three skill points to be granted the shadow core do you wish to accept?"]

"Yes I accept!"

Yet again the window changes showing the skill icon light up

Description:"the skill shadow tunneling is now unlocked the skill allows the user to move freely between shadows and dark areas the range of this skill can vary from short distance being 2 mana points medium distance 6 mana points and long distance 15 mana points"]

I grin as I think to myself how useful this skill will be to put some distance between me and the guardian and will give me time to catch my breath.

I turn running down a different path of bookshelves and spot a dark corner I run over to it and shout

"Shadow tunneling long distance!"

I feel my body enveloped in darkness and I close my eyes when I open my eyes I'm sitting on the floor in a dark corner the sound of the guardian no longer in range as I lie on the floor letting go of the book that was in my hand and taking a deep sigh

"Thank goodness that's over for now I finally get to rest for a bit"

The system window appears Infront of me showing that my mana points have reached zero I think to myself with this time I can see what other features this system has

"Hey system what other features do you have?"

["There are many features I have like an inventory were you can store your items a creature journal were you can read about the creatures you have encountered and a points window were you can put skill points into your physical, agility,mind,mana, regeneration,defence and intelligence"]

I think to myself how useful this system is that it can help me develop and grow stronger

"Can you show me the inventory"

The system window changes to were there's grids that seems to be were I can put my items and things into it

"So how do I use this?"

["Hold the item you wish to put in the inventory and say store"]

I pick up the book on the floor that I've been carrying the whole time and hold it up to the window

"Store this item"

The book in my hand vanishes and one of the grids on the window hold the book icon

I sigh in relief now that I don't have to carry that book everywhere I go and that any useful items I need don't have to be carried in a backpack or pouch which is a big help

After resting for a few minutes I stand up and stretch and think to myself since this library will be destroyed in the future I need to at least get stronger with the help of these books but I shake my head and sigh

"I shouldn't think too far ahead right now I need to get out of this library who knows how long I've been in here for but it wouldn't have been long outside of this place since everything seems in perfect condition so there has to be a time spell placed on this library"

I begin walking down one of the rows of bookshelfs as I think to myself what if I can use the shadow tunneling ability to get to the entrance of this place

"Hey window do I have enough mana points to use the shadow tunneling ability?

["Your mana points are at 8 after resting to use the long distance shadow tunneling would cost 15 mana points"]

I sigh at the fact that I don't have enough mana points to use the long distance shadow tunneling but I push that to the side and wander around looking for any books that may be interesting or I could read to pass the time so my mana points regenerate

After a bit of time I ask t system again if I have enough mana points

"Hey system do I have enough mana points now?"

["Your mana points are at 15 you are able to use the long distance shadow tunneling"]

A smile forms on my face at the fact I can finally use the ability I walk over to a dark corner

"Long distance shadow tunneling"

My body is envelped in darkness and I close my eyes when I open them low and behold I'm at the doors on when I entered the library so I can finally leave.

I stand up and walk over to the doors and put my hands on them and open the doors and step out of the library.

"Finally I'm out it felt like I was in there for days"

The system appears Infront of me signaling the completetion of the quest

I sigh and think to myself how this whole adventure in the library has made me feel so tired I begin making my way to my room.

I enter my room and shut the door behind me from the windows of my room the sun is setting I walk over to my bed and drop onto it and groan out of exhaustment my eyes grow heavy and tired then they shut and I drift off to sleep.

I open my eyes and find myself in a feald of corpses of comrades from my previous life I look down and see myself in the armour I had died in holding the sword that I had carried through my past life I hear the sounds of laughter I look up Infront of me my eyes widen and see the 5 people who had been with me and we're my a part of my party all dead Infront of me and the one who stands Infront of the body's is the one I despise the most the one who had caused everything and the destruction of the continent known as The fallen hero of destruction the one who had taken the throne after my father died the second son of the stormhilt royal family Samuel.
