The Princes second chance

"it can never be simple can it!"

I shout in frustration with how my life is put in danger by this quest I pick up the book that was on the floor the shrieks of the beast sound as if getting closer and louder I think to myself how my best chance of surviving is getting out of here since at my current state I'm too weak to take whatever that thing is on

I start running the opposite direction of that thing hoping that it can't catch up to me after running for a bit I realise that I'm lost and I cant tell if I'm going deeper into the library or getting closer to the exit but all I know is that I must not stop or I may meet my untimely fate the further I go the mana in the air grows stronger and thicker my body already tired due to recently gaining my first mana core the mana in the air brings more layers into my exhaustion my breathing getting heavier and heavier until I trip and fall to the ground my body feeling like a bolder is resting on top of it the book slips from my grip and slides across the floor.

"damnit get up get up! I need to keep running"

I grit my teeth as the shrieks of the guardian get closer my heart pounding my mind raising I try to force myself to get up but to no avail my body trembles uncontrollably I get an idea that could not work but I have one chance to see if this system can be useful and help me 

"Hey system thing please I need your help or I'm going to die so its now or never!"

after shouting out my request a few moments pass and the system window appears with its usual red text 

["in your time of need a new feature of this has been activated the shop feature has been activated do you wish to view the shop?"]

I grin thinking to myself how lucky this is that the system is being generous to assist me while I'm in this situation and with this limited time I have I could get something useful to save me and give me a chance

"yes I want to view the shop!"

the system window changes and starts viewing items my eyes quickly look through them seeing that it is only low graded things but I may be able to find something to help but before I can as the window changes 

["after a quick analysis of your current state an item has been selected to help you in your situation do you wish to view it?"]

"yes yes show me the item!"

the window changes yet again presenting a low grade restoration potion for 35 gold the description reads about it allowing the person who drinks it to have a portion of their energy restored and 15 mana points restored as the text shifts again

["do you wish to purchase this item?"]

"yes buy it!"

I shout out as in the distance loud stomps of the guardian approaching cutting my time drastically as after my request the system window disappears and a flash of light grows in front of me as when it subsides a small vial with a strange liquid is on the floor without hesitation I grab it and pop the cap on it and down the liquid the texture of it is minty but soon after I feel my energy restore and I stand up and pick up the book that had dropped onto the floor as I grin that the system had helped me just as I go to continue running a loud shriek from the guardian is hear behind me I cover my ears from the sound when I turn around I'm met with a strong impact that sends me flying back crashing into a bookshelf with a loud crash as I cough blood runs down my lip my clothes torn a bit with bruises and cuts on my body.

"ugh damnit that hurt"

I look up my eyes widen that the creature in front of me no doubt is the guardian its body looks looks like it was made from stone there is no doubt about it was a large stone gargoyle it stares at me with its red hollow eyes growling at me I get off the now broken book shelf my body in pain yet I still have a tight grip on the book in my hand the system window appears in front to me as it looks to have a description of the beast in front of me

I look back at the guardian with a better understanding of it to know that I must escape it no matter what as suddenly the large beast charges at me I just manage to dodge it when it collides with the bookshelf there is a large boom with dust and wooden chips fly in the air as I take this time to put some distance between me and that thing as I must try not to get in that things path or it will crush me I hear it shriek yet again followed by loud thumping footsteps chasing me 

"I need to get out of here or just try lose that thing or i may not even leave this place alive!"
