The Rise of the Titan

Chapter 521: Chapter 521: The Inevitable Outcome

To build a formidable retinue army, the first crucial step is to sustain them; you have to keep them well-fed. Just like horses need the best feed mixed with quality soybeans to run fast, so too does a dragon legion require significant resources.

Taking the white dragon legion before Muria as an example, Claudia had to ensure they were fed first. Following that, she needed to train them, enforcing strict discipline and teaching them to work together, merging their strength into one cohesive force.

God knows how much effort Claudia poured into this white dragon legion. However, no matter how much investment is required initially, once the legion is formed, the returns are exponentially greater.

The Frost Queen Claudia had the confidence to conquer four countries in less than a month, relying on this legion, not on the support of her crystal dragon foster mother, Philomena, nor her influential family. She never intended to leverage the power of the gem dragons; she only wanted to rely on herself.

"How enviable!" Muria sighed with genuine admiration as he watched Claudia utterly overpower the seven human legends.

In terms of forming a legion, the studious white dragon Claudia naturally had an advantage over Muria. As a purebred white dragon, all she needed was to train a group of white dragons. Muria, being a hybrid of Titan and Dragon, had a giant legion under his command that could bolster his power. However, the lack of seamless integration and perfect synchronization meant that, in actual combat, Muria often found himself more effective alone than with his legion.

...

"A titled legion!" The legendary sword saint, who had struck first, turned pale as he faced the colossal ice dragon before him. During their strategy meetings, they had already overestimated the strength of this legendary white dragon. Yet, now facing her, it was clear they had still severely underestimated her.

Legions that can amplify a legend's combat power have titles and are worthy of being recorded in history. Such titled legions are rare, even across the Deprosense subcontinent. They never imagined that this legendary white dragon would command a titled legion, especially one composed of white dragons—a truly astonishing feat.

"Retreat!" Realizing the formidable opponent they faced, the leading sword saint immediately ordered a retreat. Fighting on foreign ground limited their advantages, and now, with a titled legion against them, victory seemed utterly unattainable.

"Do you think you can escape?" The giant ice dragon formed around Claudia extended a massive claw and lightly pressed downward. A vast, intricate, three-dimensional formation emerged, encompassing the entire space above the ice city. The glowing patterns of the array were dazzlingly beautiful, yet to the human warriors on the airships, they radiated deadly menace.

"Magnificent!" Muria praised as the array, imbued with the power to seal off space, appeared. It was unclear whether he was complimenting the formation or Claudia's firm and domineering approach.

"Space is sealed! We can't break through!" A voice tinged with urgency echoed from one of the airships.

"Evil dragon, do you intend to fight us to the death?" From another airship, a burly shield warrior appeared. A towering spectral steel wall, exuding an aura of indestructibility, loomed behind him. This was a legendary shield warrior, known as the Shield Mountain.

"No, it's you who want to fight to the death!" After sealing the space, Claudia wasted no time. Freezing cold emanated from her, filling the entire array. The frost domain enhanced her power and suppressed her foes. She then swung a massive ice claw toward the seven airships. Against her enemies, there was no need for hesitation—eliminate them first.

"Roar!" The shield warrior, who seemed to possess a unique bloodline, roared as the massive dragon claw descended upon him. His body swelled to gigantic proportions, and the spectral steel wall behind him solidified, merging with the heavy shield in his hands, which he then raised to block the claw.

"Boom!" A tremendous impact reverberated, and a powerful shockwave rippled outwards, causing the creatures supporting the array in the ice city to tremble. Yet, the array's protective power shielded them from harm. The shockwave merely carved long grooves in the snowy landscape surrounding the city.

A peculiar scene unfolded before Muria's eyes: a three-hundred-meter-long ice dragon pressing down with its claw, while a ten-meter-tall giant shield warrior, wielding a hundred-meter-high steel wall, stood against it. It was a visually stunning confrontation.

However, even ordinary observers could tell that the legendary shield warrior was on the brink of collapse. The steel wall he held up was riddled with cracks, looking ready to shatter at any moment.

"Shield Mountain, hold on!" A priest in red robes, trimmed with gold, flew out from an airship, wielding a staff. He cast spells to enhance and heal the shield warrior, easing his burden. This was a legendary cleric, a Red-Robed High Priest.

"Whoosh!" An elf, clad in light armor and wielding a bow as tall as themselves, appeared. In one fluid motion, they drew and released a long arrow...

"A sword saint, archer, priest, mage, assassin, shield warrior, and a semi-tank fighter," Muria remarked as he observed the human legends beginning their battle. He shook his head slightly. "Quite a balanced lineup with almost no weaknesses. Unfortunately, they're doomed to be wiped out."

Beside him, the demon hunter Leon tightly gripped his sword, resisting the urge to don his armor and join the fray. He knew that entering the battle would only lead to his death and would not change the outcome.

The silver moon elf, Hesser, watched the sky with concern. The expedition included a legendary elven archer whose arrows were so powerful they seemed to pierce the very fabric of space. Yet, they only created deep dents in the ice dragon, failing to harm Claudia.

The ancient green dragon, Fiona, was thrilled by Claudia's dominance over the seven legends. In her view, this was the proper stance of a chromatic dragon—ruling over nations and sweeping aside all opposition. This was how a true chromatic dragon should be.

"Weak, feeble attacks. Is this the best you can do?" Claudia's disdainful voice echoed in the sky.

Violent ice and snow blanketed the sky above the ice city, with snowflakes as sharp as blades continually battering the six legends, causing ripples in their protective auras. Meanwhile, the seventh legend, an assassin, had long since vanished into the void, seeking an opportunity for a fatal strike but finding no opening.

"Damn, the ice armor is too thick. We can't break through," the third-tier legendary sword saint muttered in frustration, glaring at the massive ice dragon before him.

Claudia's sheer presence and the impregnable armor encasing her made it clear: this battle's outcome was predetermined. The seven legends of the dragon-slaying expedition were no match for the might of the Frost Queen and her titled white dragon legion.
