Chapter 4: Chapter 4: The Village of Valmere
Arriving at the Village:
After days of traveling guided by the map he found with the goblins, Rafa finally spotted the village of Valmere. It was a small but welcoming place, built on the edge of a crystal-clear lake whose waters reflected the clear blue sky. The houses were made of aged wood and gray stone, with roofs covered in yellowish straw. A light breeze carried the scent of freshly baked bread and wildflowers, creating a peaceful atmosphere that contrasted with the memories of the battle against the goblins.
The villagers seemed friendly, but wary of strangers. When Rafa entered the village, he was greeted by curious looks. Some watched him suspiciously, while others smiled shyly. He kept his Seer ability a secret, introducing himself only as "a lost traveler."
He exchanged some of the coins he found with the goblins for food and information. The villagers told of dangerous creatures in the nearby forests and mentioned the existence of a larger town called Valdoria, known for its adventurer guilds.
Helping a Captured Family:
During his stay in the village, Rafa heard rumors that a family had been captured by a horde of shadow wolves nearby. Despite his initial intention to continue on his way, he decided to intervene. Not out of compassion, but because he realized that helping the villagers could be useful in gaining reputation and information about the unknown world.
Third Person View of the Fight:
The forest was dark and silent, except for the distant sound of howling. Rafa walked carefully, his footsteps soft on the ground covered in dry leaves. He knew that the shadow wolves were nearby, hidden among the shadows of the trees.
When one of the wolves leaped to attack him, Rafa had already imagined a protective barrier. The creature crashed into the invisible barrier, growling furiously. Without hesitation, Rafa created a sharp spear in his hands and spun quickly, plunging the weapon into the wolf's chest before it could recover.
The other wolves emerged from the shadows, surrounding him. Rafa took a deep breath, concentrating. He imagined a magical net that trapped two of the wolves, immobilizing them. Then he created a rain of flaming arrows that rained down on the remaining enemies. The wolves howled in pain as the flames consumed their bodies.
When the last wolf fell, Rafa freed the family that was trapped in a nearby cave. They looked at him with admiration and gratitude, but he simply nodded and left, avoiding questions about how he had defeated the monsters. "I don't need gratitude," he thought. "I just need survival."
Discovering the Dungeons:
While talking to the villagers, Rafa heard about dungeons, magical dungeons scattered throughout Eldoria. These places were known for being dangerous, but also for containing priceless treasures and powerful artifacts. Some said that the dungeons were portals to other worlds, while others believed that they were tests left by ancient gods.
Intrigued, Rafa decided to investigate these places further during his journey. He realized that the dungeons could be a way to test his limits and learn more about his Visionary ability.
