Chapter 28: Night
"They've started fighting, forget it, I'll leave." Just as Rhodey went upstairs, Tohka heard the sound of banging and crashing. It was clear the two had started fighting.
But Tohka didn't care about the situation between those two. With a boost of speed from her armor, she flew off from Tony's villa, heading straight toward the city in the distance.
"Ah, this feels really good." Enjoying the cool breeze in the air, Tohka felt very comfortable. No wonder so many people liked flying. However, on a whim, Tohka quickly lowered her altitude. She had heard that New York was chaotic at night.
But she had been staying at home recently, too lazy to go out. And when she did want to go out, she just flew around, rarely walking on the streets at night.
"Indeed, it's chaotic. No wonder Spider-Man is so popular." After lowering her altitude, Tohka saw a robbery taking place. She immediately descended from the sky and appeared in front of the robbers.
"Oh no, it's Iron Man, let's run!" Upon seeing Tohka descend from the sky, the two robbers immediately turned and fled.
"..." Ignoring the fleeing robbers, Tohka accelerated and charged toward them. She grabbed their collars, lifted them up, and slammed them together. With a quick movement of her arms, she forced them face-to-face, causing them to knock heads and fall unconscious.
"Hehehe." Tohka let out a somewhat unkind laugh because she had clearly seen the two unlucky guys have an extremely close encounter. But the scene was too beautiful, so she stopped thinking about it and casually tossed the unconscious robbers in front of the victims.
"Do with them as you wish." However, Tohka wasn't in the mood to hand the robbers over to the police, so she just left them with the victims. She didn't care what would happen to the two robbers—after all, everyone who plays rough eventually pays the price. Also, since her voice was synthesized from metal, they couldn't possibly distinguish her.
"Yeah, New York is really chaotic." Just as Tohka took off again, she saw another robbery. A grotesque man was holding a gun to an elderly man with a kind face, who was opening his car door.
"This could be a problem." Seeing this, Tohka frowned. After all, the man had a gun, and with one wrong move, she could accidentally cause unnecessary harm.
"Dammit, he fired!" Just as Tohka hesitated, her sharp eyes caught sight of the robber about to pull the trigger.
"Dammit." Since Tony hadn't equipped her with any conventional weapons this time, and Tohka wasn't fully aware of the armor's specific abilities, she immediately charged down at her fastest speed.
"Boom." It seemed like a lot, but it actually happened in an instant. Tohka dove down, and the robber, sensing the wind pressure, instinctively jumped aside. He avoided Tohka's attack, but the gunshot rang out. The elderly man in front of her fell, blood flowing from his wound.
"Shit, this is bad." Ignoring the fleeing robber, Tohka quickly ran over to the fallen man. She immediately commanded J.A.R.V.I.S. to scan him and notify his family.
"Gunshot wound, bullet deviated a few millimeters from the heart, penetrated through. Immediate attention required to treat the wound and take him to the hospital. His identity has been confirmed, and I have contacted his family." J.A.R.V.I.S. responded in just a few seconds after hearing Tohka.
"What do I do now? Tell me quickly." After hearing J.A.R.V.I.S.'s words, Tohka hurriedly asked. After all, in her previous life, she was just an ordinary person, and this was the first time she encountered such a situation. So, it was completely normal for her to feel helpless.
"Don't worry, Miss. This armor has independent medical measures. Please immediately..." No matter what, J.A.R.V.I.S.'s advice was still very useful. At least, Tohka managed to stop the elderly man's bleeding in a very short time.
"Uncle!" At that moment, a young man pushed through the crowd and ran over. However, upon seeing Tohka in the armor, he paused for a moment. Then, in an uncertain tone, he asked, "Are you Tohka?"
"Yeah, Peter Parker, how come it's you?" Hearing someone call her name, Tohka instinctively lifted her head and opened her helmet. She then saw her classmate, Peter Parker.
"Uncle Ben, are you okay?" However, little Spider didn't pay attention to Tohka and instead ran toward the elderly man lying on the ground, shouting loudly.
"Remember, with great power comes great responsibility." At that moment, the previously unconscious Ben suddenly woke up. With all his strength, he uttered these words that would influence Spider-Man for the rest of his life before passing out again.
"Uncle Ben!!" Seeing Ben fall unconscious again, Peter Parker thought it was just a brief revival. He shouted loudly and, instinctively, picked him up and started shaking him.
"Stop!!" Seeing Peter Parker's actions, Tohka was startled. She knew that little Spider's strength was immense. His emotions were on the edge of losing control, and with one wrong move, Uncle Ben could really die. At that point, even she wouldn't be able to help. She quickly grabbed Peter's shoulder to stop him, saying, "Calm down, you see? He's not dead yet. If you keep shaking him like this, your Uncle Ben will be completely gone."
"What should I do then?" True to the future Spider-Man, after hearing Tohka's words, Peter quickly calmed down.
"I'll take him to the hospital first, we'll figure it out there." Tohka then picked up Uncle Ben, and the flames under her feet slowly rose. After reaching a certain height, she activated her shield and accelerated toward the nearest hospital.
"..." Watching Tohka leave, Peter Parker was silent for a moment before quickly swinging off to catch up with her. The surrounding onlookers began to disperse after the main event was over, leaving behind bloodstains on the ground and the New York police arriving late.
"What happened? Who hurt Uncle Ben?" Peter Parker quickly arrived at the nearest hospital and saw Tohka still in her armor outside the emergency room.
However, Peter Parker didn't wait for Tohka to respond. Instead, he ran up to the transparent glass and saw his uncle Ben surrounded by doctors in the operating room. Watching the stable heartbeat on the monitor, he finally breathed a sigh of relief. Clearly, his uncle was temporarily out of danger.
