Transformation into the Marvel Universe

Chapter 244: Daily Confrontation

===================

The next day, during breakfast, Daisy saw a scenery that brightened her eyes.

Erica's dress code is quite normal, with a bowtie and apron, but a large piece of her skin was exposed on the back, and a heart-shaped cut was in her maid costume on her chest, showing a dazzling cleavage. Daisy watched as Erica poured her coffee and well... she didn't wear underwear!

The skirt below is even shorter than short skirts. The clothes ordered by Maki who was feeling mischievous are obviously a size smaller than Erica's. Coupled with her white mesh stockings and black high heels, it was indeed very eye-catching. Even Lorna, who had become bold and started copying Daisy's style to look cool, couldn't help but look at her more and more.

Daisy quietly gave Maki a thumbs-up, and Maki looked very pleased. That's how you deal with a coquettish spy! While Daisy and her team had to bear the risk of "secrets" being leaked, Miss Erica had to face constant challenges. Now it was a waiting game to see who would crack first.

Daisy was also curious how Hill would look like wrapped in that outfit...

...

The case entered the judicial process, and sales naturally ceased.

"What a boring farce!" Daisy returned to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters with a gloomy face. This mess was caused by those arms companies. In their eyes, Hammer Industries was conducting frequent research and development and production, and was possibly running out of funds, and desperate to sell to the New York police department for cash.

Several major companies joined forces to hinder her sales and even wanted to collapse her financial chain.

Daisy pushed open Nick Fury's office door. If the New York police department couldn't buy, she would sell to S.H.I.E.L.D. There shouldn't be anyone to oppose that, right?

In Nick Fury's office, faced with Daisy, who was there to pitch her deceptive scheme of betraying her own people, Fury smiled mysteriously. It wasn't until Tony Stark was brought out at the end that Daisy realized what this guy was plotting.

"Even if you're beautiful, Miss Johnson, I still have to say, the robotic soldier you've made is garbage!" Stark sneered.

"My price is low enough that most teams can afford it. Only low-priced products can be universal. Many dangerous tasks require robot soldiers to execute, which can prevent significant losses. It's humanitarian... for social stability... for economic benefits..." Daisy knew the quality of the soldiers she made, but she didn't talk about the technology; she only talked about the price and those intangible things.

Unfortunately, Nick Fury wasn't so easily fooled, and the sales pitch ended in failure.

Daisy was frustrated, her face looking ugly. She could only target Stark, who was trying to sabotage her. "Hey! What are you doing at S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

Fury coughed, "Mr. Stark has agreed to serve as a technical consultant for S.H.I.E.L.D."

Daisy snorted, then seemed to remember something, "The technology department falls within my jurisdiction. Is this guy under my management?"

Stark's eyebrows shot up, and he quickly turned to look at Nick Fury. If he nodded and said yes, he would resign immediately.

Luckily, Fury didn't disappoint him, "Mr. Stark doesn't participate in daily affairs. He reports directly to me."

Constrained by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s need for technological updates, regardless of trust, Nick Fury had to have someone who could restrict Daisy in terms of technology. Selecting Stark took some careful consideration on his part.

Daisy had a rough idea of Nick Fury's balancing act, but she knew he would be disappointed in the end. Tony Stark wouldn't obey his orders.

The clash between Captain America and Iron Man was a conflict between ideals and reality. They were adversaries but respected each other because they both knew the other was a hero.

Nick Fury's personality and methods were vastly different from those of both Captain America and Iron Man. While Daisy could still pull off the appearance of a hero, what about Fury? A hero? Don't make jokes.

Their ideological differences would only drive them further apart.

Returning to her office, Daisy remotely accessed S.H.I.E.L.D.'s network using her Level 8 agent privileges.

After searching for five minutes, she laughed. She had found traces of Jarvis within S.H.I.E.L.D.'s network.

Tony Stark's motives were impure. He had taken advantage of his role as a consultant to implant a Trojan horse within S.H.I.E.L.D.'s internal network, with artificial intelligence cover that most people wouldn't detect.

Seeing through but not exposing, having Stark and Jarvis, this duo in S.H.I.E.L.D. might even benefit her.

With Stark as a consultant, progress on upgrading the Helicarrier significantly accelerated. Stark even installed a cloaking device on the carrier.

Daisy had a lot of complaints about this, and even the S.H.I.E.L.D. scientific department was somewhat dissatisfied. Their work was being done by outsiders, making them look incompetent.

To save face in front of her subordinates, Daisy publicly exposed Jarvis hidden within S.H.I.E.L.D.'s network.

"Tony, what is this?" Artificial intelligence wasn't invincible. Daisy deliberately wrote a logic loop to trap Jarvis. Could he figure it out? It would take twenty hours, even for an intelligent program like Jarvis, to escape.

"Boss, well done!" A group of agents from the scientific department applauded Daisy.

Nick Fury didn't understand computer technology well, but he could read people. His face was sour, "Mr. Stark, I need an explanation."

Most people would have left in such a situation in embarrassment, but Tony Stark was obviously not most people. He pushed Nick Fury aside, put on his glasses, and quickly operated on the keyboard, then pulled up a long piece of code.

His tone was flippant, and his expression was even more smug, "You left such huge loopholes yourselves. Can you blame me?"

This time, Fury's gaze shifted to Daisy.

All Daisy could do was nod. S.H.I.E.L.D. had a dedicated network department responsible for the overall network, but their technical proficiency was quite poor. Previously, Victoria Hand led it, and it had nothing to do with Daisy. But now, this department fell under the Department of Science, which was within her sphere of influence.

"Patch it up quickly!" Nick Fury left the scientific department with these words.

Repairing the S.H.I.E.L.D. network was tedious, exhausting work that also took time.

Most importantly, this work didn't offer any perks; it was pure manual labor. Daisy, lacking interest, pointed out several major flaws on the spot, and let the network department handle the repairs. She sat casually in her chair, watching Stark rescue Jarvis.

With Stark's and Jarvis's seamless cooperation, they finally managed to extract Jarvis from a not-so-obvious loophole. Even if he is not as specialized as Daisy in computer systems, Stark's skills are far from ordinary.

Stark left and Daisy returned to her office, carrying her tea under the admiring eyes of her subordinates. This time, neither side gained an advantage in their confrontation; they both had their victories and losses.
