Transmigration: The Princess Marries Her Doting Husband

Chapter 4: Chapter 4. The Fallen Soul

"Can you bring rain?"

Hatsuki asked but neither of them responded. For a few seconds, the room rusted with no movement as though time had stopped for a bit or until Chirtora started to giggle. It was like a developing wave, sparsely raising the volume and yet pleasant.

"Um?" Hatsuki gave a look at the man who had his face covered yet still managed to laugh so innocently.

"I… I apologize for interrupting. It was just too funny to not laugh...ahah" Chirtora gazed up towards the ceiling and only then did his laughter stop.

"Pay no heed. He was just amused that you asked for the only thing I can't do" The master said which made Hatsuki taken aback. Her eyes blinked at least five times consecutively, making sure she was listening to it correctly.

"How so…" Her words trailed off. If even the arbitrary couldn't bring rain, then how could she possibly do it?!!

"Well, it's a long story miss. Also, how are you feeling? Do you feel pain anywhere now?" Chirtora got on his knees while thoroughly checking for any kind of signs or visible symptoms.

"I don't think so. My body feels lighter now" Hatsuki replied while trying to move her elbows and rotating her wrist. "But what had happened to me? Before taking the medicine, I felt as though my body was about to combust"

Chirtora brought his hand forward "Your wrist" he instructed and so, while still confused, she gave her left wrist. The man then pressed the wrist to check the pulse he answered:

"It was probably because you were in an accident before being sent to the lake but when the souls are sent here, they have to go through some grueling tests so, maybe the pain from both of those incidents made your body so fragile."

"I see" Hatsuki replied trying to understand the information although she still couldn't under the meaning of "Lake" and "Grueling tests". Were they supposed to be vigorous?

"Well, it seems all your injuries are healed so you wouldn't need to take medicines but still refrain from too much physical movement. Human bodies are extremely fragile after all." Chirtora got up and dusted his robe to which Hatsuki gave a simple nod. While the Master continued to stare at Hatsuki.

"Why do you want to bring rain?" The Master asked keenly. Yuki could feel that the human he had brought was cooking something in her mind.

"Well…because…" She had no answers so instead she gave a cheesy little smile hoping it would work against the grueling master but even from behind the mask, she could feel his annoyed stare!

"It's…It's because I want to test my powers" She made up the answer, earning a sharp look from both the men in the room.

"Powers? How can you have powers" Chirtora immediately disapproved. But those were also the exact words she wanted to ask to that damn invisible man. How could she have powers?

Hatsuki tightened her lips and in a lower voice she mumbled "I could see the spirits around me until I was twelve"

"Seeing isn't equivalent to bringing rain. So, unless you tell the real reason don't expect us to help" The master was truly cruel! A complete opposite to his soft-spoken voice! Yet, Hatsuki's reluctance had partially melted.

'They don't care that I could see spirits' The thing that made her so different, so frightful, so out of the ordinary was so normal that they could brush it off as though it was a little spec of dust. 'But would they do the same if I told the truth?'

The answer was as simple as no. After all, they were strangers. Why should they need to make her feel similar when they were vastly different to their very origin? But… a part of her wanted it to be as simple as a yes.

If her differentness was normal here, then wouldn't it apply to the voice in her dreams?

"I..." After taking some time, she finally parted her lips "There's this voice in my head and he… he said that he would tell me why I was brought to this world if I can bring rain somehow"

For a moment there was an awkward silence and Hatsuki could feel her anxiety thriving. With each passing she regretted. Regretting that she had told such information to these men whom she had just met. Were they even trustworthy? What if it was all a lie?

"Well, if that's the real reason then I will teach you how to bring rain, but I warn you, ever since the Dragon Lord had gone to slumber, not even a single drop of rain has fallen to the under realm." As Yuki said those words, Hatsuki was left staggered. It was impossible!

"But for it, you must be persistent and-" He glanced at Hatsuki who was in her world.

"And?"

"Be my assistant. You would need consistent guidance as well as knowledge of utilizing the supernatural power, after all fallen souls." He completed his sentence leaving both the people in the room to fall short on their words.

'An assistant? But I have never worked as one Hatsuki feared. Her forehead creased and the thought of many things that could go wrong while agreeing to such a deal was very high. It wasn't her world and how could she trust spirits?

Even if it was arbitrary?! Yet, she wanted to meet her mother one last time. Just once so that she could give a last hug, the last words of thankfulness she had never said.

"Master, are you serious? Are you sure about it?! You have never had an assistant in your entire-" Chirtora murmured. He couldn't believe what he heard. Yuki had never needed an assistant moreover with his hectic schedule, his assistance would only be devastated.

"...Okay" Hatsuki agreed much to Chirtora's surprise. He could feel that his master was setting up a trap but why?

"Eh, then let's go to find you a jade"
