Two Summit War :One Piece

Chapter 7: 007. No Commissar Ron? No Wonder Your World Is So Weak

In the original world, Sengoku stared at the screen in disbelief.

"The man who terrified Shanks and his crew so much that they could barely move… He's the same man standing on the podium at the heart of Marineford?"

Garp squinted at the image, carefully examining the figure.

"There's no doubt about it," he muttered. "The same face, the same posture… But how? There's a gap of more than ten years between those two moments, yet he hasn't changed at all."

Staff Officer Tsuru, ever the strategist, placed a thoughtful hand on her chin.

"Look at his position," she pointed out. "He stands in front of Sengoku. Now, from what I know about you, Sengoku, you're not the type to stand behind just anyone, especially not on such a grand occasion."

Sengoku scowled but couldn't refute her words.

"If I had to guess," Tsuru continued, "you must respect and admire him deeply in that world."

Sengoku was a man who valued hierarchy. As the Fleet Admiral, he was always the centerpiece of Marine events. Yet, in the alternate world, he stood slightly behind this man, as if acknowledging his authority.

Could there really be someone he admired that much?

Before he could ponder further, messages flooded the public chat from the Marines in the alternate world.

"(Current) Momousagi: It's Commissar Ron! Now I remember—I used to be his assistant. Those were some unforgettable times."

"(Current) Tashigi: Wait a minute… hasn't Commissar Ron looked exactly the same for over a decade? Even his thermos is the same!"

"(Current) Sengoku: Now that you mention it… Ron, how exactly do you do it? Tsuru told me to ask what your secret is."

Sengoku from the original world twitched in irritation.

"That old fool," he muttered under his breath. "Why couldn't he ask that in private instead of embarrassing me on a public screen?"

More messages followed.

"(Current) Kizaru: Luffy got to meet Commissar Ron so early? How lucky! If I had met him at that age, I would have been a model worker for forty years straight. Too bad I wasted so much time."

"(Original) Kizaru: Huh? If you're being held hostage, just blink twice."

The Kizaru from the original world was utterly baffled.

Model worker? For forty years?

He stared at the screen in horror.

That… that guy is supposed to be me?

A model worker meant relentless effort, endless assignments, and, worst of all, overtime. Who in their right mind would strive for that?

The thought made his already wrinkled face scrunch even further.

Was he crazy?

Had his alternate self lost his mind?

What could possibly make him willingly put in so much effort?

"Being a model worker means working all the time," he grumbled. "I already hate doing the bare minimum… Why would I ever want to work more?"

He glanced at the chat again, still trying to process the sheer absurdity of his other self's words.

Meanwhile, Sengoku from the original world had just realized something even more shocking.

The other world had finally mentioned the man's name.

Ron.

The man with the thermos.

The man whose presence had completely altered the course of history.

The man who, judging by their reactions, had shaped the entire Marine force into something completely different from the one he knew.

Sengoku's mind raced.

If the two worlds were fundamentally the same, then shouldn't there be a Marine named Ron in his own world?

His fingers hovered over the keyboard.

"(Original) Sengoku: Who is Ron? What is his position in your world? When did he join the Marines?"

The response came almost instantly, but it left Sengoku more confused than ever.

"(Current) Sengoku: You don't even know Ron? What's the point of being a Fleet Admiral, then?"

Sengoku gritted his teeth.

Getting mocked by his alternate self was infuriating.

"(Current) Garp: Ron, of course, is the Marine Commissar. He's in charge of ideological work. How do you not have such an important position? I love talking to Commissar Ron!"

Sengoku stared blankly at the screen.

Political commissar? Ideological work?

That… didn't exist in his world.

Even as Fleet Admiral, he had never heard of such a role in the Marine hierarchy.

Yet, in the alternate world, they spoke of it as if it was crucial.

Was that why Kizaru and Garp behaved so differently over there?

Was this so-called ideological work the reason for their drastic change in attitude?

Impossible.

There was no way mere ideology could change Kizaru into a diligent model worker.

And yet…

The evidence was right before his eyes.

Then, another message appeared, hammering the final nail into his pride.

"(Current) Akainu: Wait, you don't have Commissar Ron in your world? No wonder your Marines are so weak. You still haven't dealt with Whitebeard, and you even let pirates attack your home base. Embarrassing."

Sengoku clenched his fists.

Damn it.

Even though he was furious, he couldn't deny that Akainu had a point.

The difference between their worlds was staggering.

Over there, the Marines were so powerful that even the Four Emperors trembled at the sight of one man.

Here, they were still struggling against Whitebeard, and Marineford had already been invaded once.

Was the key to it all this man named Ron?

Sengoku's expression darkened.

"Tsuru," he ordered quietly, "check if we have anyone named Ron in our ranks."

At the same time, in the present world, members of the One Piece community watching the parallel world's broadcast were buzzing with excitement.

"This Ron guy is insane! Did you see how scared the Red Hair Pirates were?"

"Yeah! Yasopp's hands were shaking so much that he couldn't even pull the trigger!"

"Even Benn Beckman, the smartest man in One Piece, was ready to escape through the window! Who is this guy?"

"Forget that—did you see how Sengoku and Garp treated him? The Fleet Admiral stood behind him!"

The audience was in awe.

For the longest time, figures like Whitebeard, Kaido, and Shanks had been considered the pinnacle of strength in the One Piece world.

But now, a new name was rising—Ron, the man who held the entire Marine force together.

Meanwhile, in the original world, Sengoku's face remained tense.

If this man truly was the reason for the power imbalance between the two worlds…

Then their world was missing something crucial.

And that terrified him.
