Chapter 57: Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [57]
"This is the scientific crystallization of the Golden Age. Of course, we can bring your seemingly dead brothers back to life. Bring them up first. Once your Chaplain has finished receiving treatment, the others can follow," Rhodes said.
The suspended animation state of the Space Marines could be reversed. As long as they were placed in a medical pod before true death, they could be saved.
"We are deeply grateful, great Emperor's chosen," the Deathwatch lieutenant said, nodding to the other warriors. They then carried Chaplain Magro into Rhodes' spaceship.
Upon entering the ship, the Deathwatch members began examining its interior structure. It indeed reflected human design, likely a product of humanity's Golden Age.
Several Space Marines worked together to remove the Chaplain's power armor before carefully placing him into the medical pod.
Once inside, Rhodes pressed a button on the medical pod, causing a green liquid to fill the chamber and begin treating Magro.
"My lord, what about the new weapons you prepared for us? Are we going to conduct a boarding assault using this ship?" the Deathwatch lieutenant asked.
"Hmm! I'll distribute the new weapons to you now. This is a special ray gun, far more powerful than your bolters," Rhodes said, taking out the Pedanium rifles he had brought along, as well as some special weapons resembling electric batons.
The Deathwatch members nodded in acknowledgment and began testing the weapons.
Just like the previous Polar Marines, the Space Marines quickly mastered the use of these Pedanium weapons after just a few simple operations.
Some of the Deathwatch members test-fired the Pedanium rifles, and their power did not disappoint.
One Deathwatch member nodded toward their Lieutenant, signaling that these weapons were excellent.
A Space Marine picked up a blue electric baton, activated it with a crackling sound, and saw a layer of blue electromagnetic energy envelop the rod. He swung it, instantly slicing through a nearby wall.
"Is this a kinetic weapon from the Golden Age? The power is impressive!
But why is it a baton? If it were a blade, it would be even more effective."
"Ahem! Yes, this is a kinetic weapon," Rhodes said, twitching slightly at the corner of his mouth.
Was this a joke? So this thing was a kinetic weapon? He had always thought it was just a stun baton!
In the Ultraman series, this thing behaved exactly like an electric baton! Who would have thought that after summoning it, it turned out to be a kinetic weapon?
Alright, it seemed he had underestimated the Pedanium weapons. No spacefaring civilization would equip itself with just a simple baton.
"I think it can be slightly modified!"
The Space Marine smirked and began tinkering with the baton, dismantling it.
Soon, he removed the metal rod and replaced it with the blade of his previous kinetic sword. Activating it again, the special electromagnetic field wrapped around the blade, forming a brand-new power sword.
"This thing is modular. I believe a sword is more lethal than a baton. Brothers, if you have broken kinetic swords, take them out and replace the parts."
The Deathwatch members nodded in agreement and promptly removed the damaged blades from their power swords.
They then attached them to the handles of Rhodes' electric batons, creating new kinetic swords.
"My lord, you have gone to great lengths for us! You have provided each of us with kinetic weapons," the Deathwatch lieutenant bowed respectfully to Rhodes.
Having kinetic weapons was undoubtedly the best outcome. Their lethality far surpassed that of chainswords, especially against the Tyranid swarm.
"You're welcome! Just use them well."
If it weren't for these burly warriors figuring it out, he would never have realized this was a kinetic weapon—he had assumed it was just a stun baton!
In the Ultraman series, this thing was enveloped in an electromagnetic field, yet Leonix could withstand it with its bare body. That was truly insane!
Before long, all the Deathwatch Space Marines had rearmed themselves, each carrying a Pedanium rifle and a modified power sword.
Once everyone had finished equipping themselves, Rhodes activated the Pedan spaceship and set course for the Tyranid Hive Fleet.
"Now, let me explain the mission in detail. I will use a special method to teleport you onto the Hive Ship.
I will also provide you with psychic protection, but it will be temporary.
You must quickly plant these bombs on the Hive Ship and then retreat immediately—do not linger," Rhodes instructed.
"My lord! Are you certain that such a small bomb is enough to destroy a Hive Ship?" the Deathwatch lieutenant asked, holding a palm-sized timed explosive with some doubt.
Destroying a Tyranid Hive Ship, which was at least several kilometers long, with such a tiny bomb—was that possible?
"Trust me, it's more than enough. Just one of these will obliterate a Tyranid Hive Ship," Rhodes reassured him.
Rhodes had complete faith in Pedan technology. In the original, one of these bombs had successfully destroyed a starship.
"I understand," the Deathwatch lieutenant nodded.
"Here, take this—it's a teleportation bracelet from the Golden Age. It will lock onto our current ship's location. Wear these two bracelets.
Remember! These bracelets are extremely valuable. You are only borrowing them temporarily," Rhodes said, handing over two teleportation bracelets to the Deathwatch lieutenant.
After giving a brief explanation of how to use them, Rhodes reminded them that the bracelets had to be returned afterward.
Since he would be controlling Ace Robot to fight the swarm, he couldn't accompany them. Instead, he would use the Emperor's psychic power to shield them temporarily, allowing them to carry out their boarding operation.
Soon, the ship reached the maximum safe distance from the Tyranid swarm's attack range. Rhodes activated the Golden Flash mode, providing them with psychic protection.
"My lord, please take care of my unconscious brothers."
"Don't worry, the Hospitaller Sisters will look after them first."
The Deathwatch lieutenant nodded at Rhodes, then activated the teleportation bracelets. With a flash of blue light, all the Deathwatch members vanished.
The operation had officially begun.
After the Deathwatch team left, Rhodes released two massive robotic entities—Iron and Ace Robot.
The moment these two silver giants appeared, the Tyranid swarm immediately detected them.
Countless Tyranid bio-ships swarmed toward them. Their response was fast—but too late.
"Iron, charge up Ace Robot!"
