Chapter 143: More Hope!!!
As the preparations continued in Tempest, Rimuru called out to Luna within his mind, her ever-present ethereal voice echoing in response.
"What is it, Rimuru?" Luna asked, her tone calm yet curious.
"I've been thinking," Rimuru began. "If we're all going to face Artemis and his forces, the Demon Lords will need to be stronger. Can you help them evolve their skills? I'm talking about Guy, Milim, Draguel, Luminous, and Leon. Their power is immense, but if they can push past their limits, we might stand a better chance."
Luna's presence flickered for a moment, as if pondering deeply. "Evolving the skills of beings as powerful as the Demon Lords is no simple matter, Rimuru. However, with my abilities, it is possible to refine their Ultimate Skills and help them ascend further."
Rimuru smiled slightly, feeling a surge of hope. "That's good to hear. And what about Ramiris? Can you do something for her as well?"
Luna hesitated before answering. "Ramiris is a special case. Since she has lost most of her former power as a Spirit Queen, her abilities are fundamentally limited. I can enhance what little remains of her skills, but it won't be comparable to what I can do for the others. Her current state as a diminished Spirit Lord makes significant evolution nearly impossible."
Rimuru sighed, a bit disappointed but understanding. "That's fair. Ramiris does have the Labyrinth, so she's already contributing a lot by providing a training ground and a fallback defense. Let's focus on the others, then."
"Understood," Luna replied. "I will analyze their skills and provide a list of recommendations for how to evolve them. Each Demon Lord will need to undergo a process to fully integrate the changes, and it will require their full cooperation."
"Leave that part to me," Rimuru said confidently. "I'll talk to them and explain everything. They'll understand the importance of this."
Luna's voice carried a faint trace of amusement. "Very well, Rimuru. I'll begin my analysis. Once I'm ready, I'll let you know how we can proceed."
With that, Rimuru called for the Demon Lords to meet him in a private chamber in Tempest.
Guy Crimson was the first to arrive, his usual smirk plastered across his face. Milim came bounding in next, her energy practically spilling over. Draguel, with his stoic presence, entered silently, followed by the ever-elegant Luminous and the calculating Leon Cromwell. Ramiris fluttered in last, looking curious but slightly apprehensive.
Rimuru explained his plan, emphasizing how evolving their skills would give them an edge against Artemis's forces. The Demon Lords listened carefully, and while some, like Milim and Guy, were excited at the prospect, others, like Draguel and Leon, appeared more reserved.
As the Demon Lords gathered in the private chamber, their gazes were fixed on Rimuru with varying degrees of curiosity and skepticism. The notion that Rimuru, despite his overwhelming strength, could evolve their skills was something none of them could fully grasp.
Guy Crimson leaned back in his chair, his crimson eyes narrowing with intrigue. "So, Rimuru, you're saying you can evolve our skills? Even mine?" His smirk widened as he crossed his arms. "How exactly do you plan on doing that? Don't tell me you've developed some godly method we don't know about."
Milim tilted her head, looking genuinely confused but excited. "Rimuru! Is this another one of your secret tricks? How can you mess with our skills? I don't even know if that's possible!"
Leon Cromwell's expression was calm, but his golden eyes betrayed his doubt. "Rimuru, do you truly understand the gravity of what you're proposing? Our skills are extensions of our very existence—evolving them isn't something just anyone can do. How do you even have access to them in the first place?"
Draguel nodded slightly in agreement. "This is unprecedented. Even for someone like you, Rimuru. Do you have some kind of hidden power we're unaware of?"
Luminous tapped her fingers lightly against the table, her gaze sharp. "You've always been full of surprises, Rimuru, but this? Skill evolution is a feat that not even Veldanava attempted lightly. What are you hiding?"
Ramiris, fluttering above the table, chimed in with her usual bluntness. "Yeah, Rimuru! What's your secret? How can you just evolve our super awesome Demon Lord skills like it's no big deal? You're not telling us everything, are you?"
Rimuru chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head. He had anticipated this reaction, but keeping Luna's existence a secret meant he needed to tread carefully.
"Look," Rimuru began, his tone calm but firm. "You're right—I'm not giving you all the details. Let's just say I have a unique... advantage that allows me to analyze and enhance skills. I can't go into specifics, but I promise you this: it's completely safe, and the results will speak for themselves."
Guy's smirk faltered slightly, replaced by a more serious expression. "You expect us to just trust you blindly, Rimuru? Evolving skills isn't child's play. If something goes wrong, it could affect us on a fundamental level."
"Trust, huh?" Rimuru met Guy's piercing gaze without flinching. "Haven't I earned that by now? I'm not asking you to take unnecessary risks. I'm offering all of us a chance to get stronger—for the sake of surviving what's coming."
Milim stood up abruptly, her energy filling the room. "I trust Rimuru! He's never let me down before, and I know he won't now! If he says he can evolve our skills, then I believe him!"
Her unwavering support caused a ripple through the room. Draguel nodded after a moment, his deep voice steady. "If Milim trusts you, then so will I. I'll give you a chance to prove this, Rimuru."
Leon crossed his arms, his expression unreadable. "Fine. I'll cooperate. But if I sense even the slightest hint of instability in my skills, I'm pulling out immediately."
Luminous sighed, her elegance undiminished. "This better be worth my time, Rimuru. Don't make me regret it."
Ramiris still seemed hesitant, but after a moment, she sighed and nodded. "Okay, okay, fine! But you better not mess this up!"
Guy leaned forward, his smirk returning. "Alright, Rimuru. Let's see what you've got. But if you're hiding something big, don't think I won't figure it out eventually."
Rimuru smiled, relieved that they had agreed despite their doubts. "Thanks, everyone. I promise, this is going to be worth it. Just be ready—you might feel a little... strange during the process, but it won't hurt. Much."
Rimuru turned to Ramiris, his tone laced with regret. "Ramiris, I hate to say this, but I won't be able to help you evolve your skills. You've lost too much of your original power, and the method I'm using requires a stronger foundation to work. I'm sorry."
Ramiris's wings drooped slightly as she pouted. "Aww, that's not fair! Everyone else gets stronger, and I'm just stuck like this? That's so lame!"
Before Rimuru could respond, Milim perked up, her eyes lighting with realization. "Wait, Ramiris! Why don't you ask my father, Beerus? You said before that you and he are friends, right? If anyone can help you, it's him! He's way more powerful than any of us!"
Ramiris's eyes widened as she gasped. "Oh my goodness, Milim, you're absolutely right! How could I forget? Beerus and I are friends! He even gave me a special way to contact him in his realm. I haven't used it in forever, but this is the perfect time!"
Rimuru raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Beerus gave you a way to reach him? That's... interesting. I didn't know you were that close to him."
Ramiris puffed out her chest proudly. "Of course! I'm awesome like that! Beerus and I go way back—he's always been kind to me. Well, in his own scary, godly way. Anyway, I'll go see him and ask for his help!"
Milim clapped her hands excitedly. "That's a great idea! Beerus is super strong, and if anyone can restore your powers or help you evolve your skills, it's him!"
Ramiris nodded fervently, already brimming with excitement. "Okay, I'll head to his realm soon! This is going to be amazing! If he helps me, I'll be back stronger than ever—just you wait!"
Rimuru smiled, amused by Ramiris's renewed energy. "Good luck, Ramiris. If anyone can convince Beerus to help, it's probably you. Just... don't get on his bad side, okay?"
Ramiris waved her hand dismissively. "Oh, please! Beerus loves me. I'm not scared of him!" She paused for a moment, her expression turning slightly nervous. "Well... maybe just a little. But it'll be fine! I'll let you all know how it goes!"
With that, Ramiris fluttered off, already plotting her trip to Beerus's realm. The rest of the Demon Lords exchanged amused glances, though Milim's expression held a hint of pride.
Guy smirked and leaned back in his chair. "This should be interesting. Beerus doesn't just help anyone, but if Ramiris pulls this off, it'll be one more surprise in this already chaotic mess we're preparing for."
Rimuru nodded, his thoughts already turning back to the challenges ahead. "Let's hope she gets what she needs. Every bit of strength counts right now."
As Ramiris vanished in a burst of energy, the room returned to its strategic atmosphere, though everyone silently hoped she'd return with some good news.
