Worlds In Limbo

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Chaotic Hunt

Abberants are creatures borne of Chaos. They are entities that can take the form of everything without the care for logic or the rules Existence set. Rhian noted the Abberant, which was glaring at her had the head of a Pterosaur, while its body was left to her imagination.

They were locked. The Abberant was observing Rhian, curious about its prey, while Rhian was afraid of dying immediately. 'It-it's not m-moving...' The Abberant's eye was about the size of her head, and it stayed unmoving, dilating as it caught Rhian's finger twitch.

'S-Shit... W-What do I do?!' Her heart was being weighed down, feeling the itching sweat crawl down her legs. She was bound by chains she couldn't break out of.

But it blinked, moving its head closer to the screen. It blinked and looked around the cockpit, finding nothing interesting before crawling, much to Rhian's relief.

'Th-Thank God..' Her footing gave out as she dropped onto the floor, feeling weakened all over her body.

A deep sigh left her body, and she felt refreshed again. She gathered her mind, grasping the dagger that had fallen on the floor. Determined to protect the Terrestrial, she unsheathed the other dagger, holding both firmly as she heard low snarling.

She quickly spun her body around. First, seeing the entrance opened. Second, a pack of wolf-like Abberants growled at her until one immediately lunged at her. 'SHIT!' The unexpected attack caught her off guard, but she was still able to dodge it by stepping back into the cockpit.

Strengthen!

She gave a silent command to her Runes, ordering them to enchant the dagger she firmly grasped before launching it toward the Abberant, successfully striking its front shoulder. However, angering the others.

Their gaze locked onto Rhian, not with the intent to kill, but with the intent to mutilate and desecrate her corpse.

There were a total of three Abberants. One has been slightly impaired, while the other two bore their teeth at Rhian, immediately lunging at her, enchanting their teeth as they grew longer, snapping down on a door.

'J-Jesus!' Scratching and clawing ensued as she felt the Abberants trying to break the door down, but she quickly enchanted it.

Defend!

Crimson arcs spread onto the door as it started to vibrate aggressively, causing an earful of whining to ensue behind the door. 'Good..' This wasn't as bad as the giant Abberant she first fought, but this was still not a simulation. She needed to kill them to survive, and to do so with a dagger? Doubt started to settle in.

"NO! I CA-AAHHHHHHHHHH!"

Something crashed into the Terrestrial again, but this time it was rougher. Rhian was rag-dolled into the control panel of the cockpit, finding herself bruised and scratched from the sudden crash.

'W-what the?' She was disoriented. "Ahrgr.." She was upside down as she lay on the panel, straining her neck a good bit. "My... damn.. neck!" Sweat drenched her body as she corrected her orientation, sitting on the control panel, while rubbing the back of her neck.

"I-I still need to deal with the Abberants.." Her head was pounding, and her heart added to that irritating sensation, holding her head with one hand as she searched for the dagger in the cockpit.

"D-Damn, this feels like shit..." Her head was banging louder.

"I can't.. see it..."

Spread.

Two orders: help her massage her head and enchant themselves onto the Terrestrial. It was received with no disobedience.

She closed her eyes, feeling something lift on her chest as it surfaced on her unit, slithering to her forehead and flowing down her body to engrave itself onto the Terrestrial, encircling both as they started vibrating.

'A-Alright..' The loud banging in her head fades as she starts to hear the vibrations around the Terrestrial: her dagger laid under one of the seats; the twelve paws stood in the living room, seemingly growling; the giant claws clinging onto the back of the Terrestrial; and the absence of the entrance wall.

'What the-?!' Her eyebrows scrunched, noticing four paws disappearing before something was thrown toward the left wall of the Terrestrial, landing on the ground with something flowing out of it.

Come back!

Her eyes shot open, darting toward her dagger as she felt a surge of heat inject into her body and sighed heavily. 'Alright!' Moving toward the door, she felt something else hit the right wall. 'Is it..?' She takes a deep breath, opening the door a little before taking a peek.

'It is!' Her eyes widened while her heart raced.

It was the pterosaur-like Abberant, at least its head. The upper torso seemed to belong to a bear with its claws lodged into the walls on the side. It used its beak to skewer the pack of Abberants, slowly picking them off by slamming them into the wall.

GRAAAAAAAAAAAH-!

The final one without a giant hole in its body roared, enchanting its claws. It raised its arm, sharpening and lengthening it before slamming it down with force, releasing a wide slash that cut into the giant Abberant's beak, severely wounding it.

It was staggered and shivering in pain. The Runes of the wolf Abberant flowed toward its other claws, quickly raising it again. 'Wait..' It slammed its claws down, releasing another intense slash that successfully severed the beak of the Abberant as it released a shrill cry.

NOW!

Rhian swung the door open, gripping her dagger tightly as her Runes engraved themselves onto it, causing it to vibrate aggressively before she launched it toward the behind of the Abberant.

GO!

She slammed the door open, catching the attention of the wolf Abberant as it spun around quickly, causing itself to be struck on the head while Rhian smirked widely.

"HRAHHH!"

She sprinted from the cockpit, feeling a wave of heat surge through her body as she darted through the pools of blood toward the Abberant she struck, firmly grasping the dagger impaling its head and its hind legs.

"GRAAAAHHHHH!" She released a guttural yell before enchanting the entire Abberant with her magic, causing blood to spew out of its body as she started to spin with its body, feeling her body tightening and heating up before hurling the dead Abberant toward the pterosaur, perfectly crashing into its severed beak.

'How the FUCK did I do that?!' She questions herself, feeling severely fatigued while she watches the impaled and enchanted body of the wolf Abberant cause the entire head of the pterosaur Abberant to vibrate aggressively before bursting.

"H-Haaa.. I-I.." Her legs weaken as she falls onto the floor, bathing in the blood of the Abberants before hearing a loud thud far below her.

'D-Did it-?' She lifted her head to look at the giant opening in the entrance, seeing the left and right walls left with colossal claw marks and the pterosaur Abberant now not clinging onto the Terrestrial.

She releases a relieved sigh, head dropping into the pool as it splashes blood onto her helmet. "I- huff.. I got to.." Her breath heaves as she slowly gets back on her two feet, looking at the carnage she somehow lived through.

"My.. dagger.." She scanned around, spotting a soft silver glow, prompting her to go after it. "Nice.." She picks up the blood-stained dagger, taking a deep breath before sighing.

She takes off her helmet, feeling a soft, cold breeze blowing into the Terrestrial. "I wonder how Kurayami is doing..." She takes a deep breath again, sighing heavily before looking at the two bodies left on the Terrestrial, deciding to discard them.

"Heave... Ho!" Her dagger strapped onto her belt, she slowly dragged the two bodies close to the giant opening at the entrance, dropping them off before trying to clean off the blood. "Ughh.." She expresses disgust before giving up.

"I wait.. now, I guess." Her eyes drift toward the blurry, verdant sea, feeling the cold, soothing breeze- 'Blurry?'

She squinted her eyes, focusing on the hills they crossed, noticing them to be.. a mosaic.
