X-GENE OMNITRIX

Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2

The lab was silent, except for the steady beeping of machines. The dim glow of monitors reflected off the glass tank in the center of the room, casting eerie shadows on the cold metal walls.

Inside the tank, Alex floated—unconscious, weightless, trapped in glowing blue liquid.

For years, he had been just another specimen to them. A thing to be studied, experimented on, controlled. His body, once his own, had become a prisoner, his power sealed away by a device embedded deep within him.

But today… something was different.

A sharp, high-pitched alarm blared from one of the machines.

A scientist glanced at the screen—and his face twisted in confusion. "His brain activity is spiking," he muttered. "Isn't he supposed to be sedated?"

Another scientist frowned, tapping at the controls. "We gave him today's dose. There's no way he's waking up."

The alarm grew louder.

The first scientist's hands clenched. "Then why is he—"

His words died in his throat.

On the monitor, Alex's neural patterns surged. His body, though motionless inside the tank, was waking up.

One of the younger scientists smirked. "So what? Even if he wakes up, what can he do? We sealed his power, remember? He's just a lab rat now."

The lead doctor turned to him sharply. "Are you an idiot?" he snapped. "He's our most valuable specimen! If we experiment on him while he's fully conscious, we could damage him beyond repair!"

The younger scientist swallowed hard, his smirk vanishing. "S-Sorry, sir."

The doctor exhaled, rubbing his temples. "Just increase the sedation. Now."

The scientist hurried over to prepare another dose.

But inside the glass tank, Alex was already gone.

Not physically.

But somewhere deeper.

They were already too late.

Inside Alex's Mind – The Meeting of the Guardians

Alex opened his eyes.

But he wasn't in the lab anymore.

He was in a vast, endless void.

Black. Infinite. Silent.

There was no floor, no walls—just nothingness stretching forever. Yet, somehow, Alex felt like he was floating.

His breathing quickened. Where am I?

Then—

Two green masks appeared before him, glowing eerily against the darkness.

They had no bodies. No forms.

Only their featureless, floating faces, their cosmic glow pulsing like stars.

Alex's heart pounded.

He knew exactly who they were.

Before he could even think, their voices boomed, echoing through the void.

"So… you have awakened."

The Confrontation

Rage exploded inside Alex.

Everything—his suffering, his years of being a prisoner, the memories of his past life—flooded back at once.

His fists clenched. His teeth bared.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU GIVE ME MY MEMORIES SOONER!?" he roared, his voice shaking the void. "WHY DID YOU LET ME LIVE IN HELL WITHOUT KNOWING WHO I WAS!?"

The left mask—Bellicus, the loud and aggressive one—snapped back instantly. "BECAUSE YOU WERE TOO WEAK TO HANDLE IT, YOU UNGRATEFUL BRAT!"

Alex staggered, his breath catching in his throat. "W-What?"

Bellicus' voice boomed, dripping with frustration. "YOUR BODY COULDN'T SUSTAIN YOUR SOUL! WE HAD TO DELAY IT!"

Alex's entire body shook with fury.

"AND BECAUSE OF THAT, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO MY MOM!" His voice cracked. "I HAD TO LIVE AS A LAB RAT!"

The right mask—Serena, the calmer, gentler one—let out a soft, shaky breath.

And then—

She started crying.

Glowing green tears dripped from her mask, dissolving into the void.

Bellicus groaned. "Oh, GREAT! Look what you did! You made her cry!"

Alex flinched. He hadn't expected that.

Serena's voice wavered with guilt. "Alex… we wanted to help you sooner. But we couldn't."

Her voice was full of pain.

"If we had awakened your full soul too soon…" She hesitated. "You would have died."

Alex's breath hitched.

His rage faltered for just a moment.

Died?

Bellicus scoffed. "DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE!?"

His voice thundered through the void.

"YOU'RE NOT JUST A MUTANT ANYMORE! YOU'RE SOMETHING FAR BEYOND THAT!"

Serena nodded. "Your soul, your very existence, was breaking apart when you were reborn into this world. We had to slow the process down, or your body would have been completely destroyed."

Alex clenched his fists. "Then why didn't you send someone to help me!?"

Bellicus laughed bitterly. "OH, YOU MEAN LIKE BEN!?

Alex's eyes flashed. "YES! WHY NOT!?"

Bellicus snapped.

"BECAUSE THERE IS NO BEN IN THIS UNIVERSE, YOU MORON!"

Silence.

Alex staggered back.

Serena sighed. "This universe… doesn't have a Ben Tennyson."

Alex's world crashed.

No Ben?

No hero to swoop in and save the day?

Bellicus scoffed. "You don't get it, do you? We're Guardians, not your nannies! We don't control fate! We can't just snap our fingers and make a hero show up to fix everything for you!"

Serena's voice softened. "But we can give you something."

She lifted her hand.

A symbol glowed in the darkness.

A green circle, radiating immense power.

Alex's chest burned.

Pain exploded through his body.

He fell to his knees, clutching his arm as something FORCED ITS WAY OUT.

A device—solid, metal, glowing blue—emerged from his very soul and latched onto his wrist.

The Omnitrix.

But not just any Omnitrix.

This one was unique.

It wasn't built from alien DNA.

It was built from his own mutation.

A limiter. A control.

And a key to something far greater.

Bellicus snorted. "There. That'll stop you from EXPLODING when you get too strong. You're welcome."

Serena placed a gentle hand on Alex's shoulder. "This Omnitrix is part of you now. It will activate when you reach your limit, forcing you back into your human form when your power becomes too much to handle."

Alex panted, his body still burning from the transformation. He gritted his teeth and forced himself to stand.

His BLUE eyes glowed.

"Fine," he muttered. "Then I'll just have to get strong enough to never need it."

Bellicus groaned. "Oh, this kid is gonna be a nightmare."

Serena giggled. "I think he's wonderful."

Bellicus shouted. "OH, FOR THE LOVE OF—WHATEVER! GET OUT OF HERE!"

The void shattered.
