You’re Supposed To Be The Villain, But You Effortlessly Win Over The Female Leads?

Chapter 36:

Chapter 36:

A week later, He Minglang had wasted away to a mere skeleton. His once pale complexion, devoid of any color, now resembled that of a dying patient. His expression carried the weariness of old age, as if time had drained every bit of life from him.

Jiang Feng, having been a doctor in his past life, could see clearly that He Minglang’s body was failing; his time was running out.

In their previous life, the original owner of Jiang Feng’s body had already been coerced into donating bone marrow. But now, everything was different. Jiang Feng not only refused to donate his bone marrow, but he also exposed He Minglang and Jiang Jiandang on a national television reality show, unveiling the darkest sides of their personalities to the world.

No matter the world, one rule remains universal: when a good person commits a small bad deed, and a bad person does something good, people perceive them very differently.

Jiang Feng had always been viewed as a rebellious child. He was withdrawn, friendless, and disgusted by the thought of not donating his bone marrow. To everyone, he seemed heartless and cruel. In contrast, He Minglang was seen as kind, beautiful, and pitiful-a sick orphan who had endured more than his fair share of suffering.

No one anticipated the dramatic turn of events. The truth shocked everyone; they felt deceived by He Minglang and Jiang Jiandang. The disdain and judgment that Jiang Feng once endured were now being directed at them.

After helping Song Lin with everything, Jiang Feng returned to school only to find himself surrounded by classmates. One of the students who had previously mocked him approached, looking embarrassed.

“Jiang Feng, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have pressured you to donate your bone marrow. I didn’t know what they were really like.”

“It’s fine.” Jiang Feng replied calmly.

“I never imagined that Teacher Jiang, who always seemed so upright, would treat you so badly. Don’t worry, we’ll celebrate your birthday together from now on!” The student thumped his chest in a gesture of support, trying to curry favor.

“Okay.” Jiang Feng responded, his tone cool and composed. He remained polite but distant, maintaining a balance that neither distanced nor ingratiated himself with anyone. As he sat there with a book in hand, he seemed almost like a serene painting.

With one person leading the way, others soon followed, each stepping up to apologize.

“Sorry, Jiang Feng.”

“I shouldn’t have laughed at you before.”

“Forgive me.”

One by one, they came, surrounding Jiang Feng like stars around the moon. Meanwhile, He Minglang sat alone in a corner, unnoticed by all.

He Minglang’s fists clenched tightly, his eyes brimming with envy as he stared at Jiang Feng.

Jiang Feng! Always Jiang Feng!

Why was everyone praising him now when they had despised him before?

What had he done to deserve this admiration?

Where did He Minglang go wrong?

Bitterness welled up inside He Minglang, suffocating him with resentment. The heavy weight of his emotions caused him to cough violently, spitting up blood.

No one came to visit him this time as he lay sick in the hospital, frail and alone. He reached for his phone and dialed Jiang Jiandang’s number, but after a few rings, the line went dead.

“Sorry, the number you dialed is currently unavailable.”

Blocked.

He was stunned.

In the past, Jiang Jiandang would have never ignored his calls, not even during his son’s birthday parties. But now, he was cut off.

With trembling fingers, He Minglang sent a message to Xu Qingya:

[He Minglang: Qingya, I’m in the hospital. I’m sick. Can you come and see me?]

He clutched his phone, filled with hope.

Xu Qingya had always been kind to him, often saying that he was the only one who truly understood her. He was sure she liked him. Surely, she would come.

After half an hour, the door to the ward creaked open.

“Qingya!” He Minglang’s face lit up with hope, but when he looked up, his smile froze.

Standing at the door was Jiang Feng, dressed in a simple school uniform with a backpack slung over his shoulder. He leaned against the doorway, looking indifferent yet stunningly composed, like a distant celestial being.

“What are you doing here? Did you come to laugh at me?” He Minglang rasped, coughing harshly. He stared at Jiang Feng with a bitter sneer. “There’s no need to pretend. I know I lost to you on that stupid variety show. I didn’t expect you to have prepared so thoroughly!”
