Extra's Perfect Ending
Chapter 70: Plan
"Be warned, don't snoop around other customers. If we find out we could kick you out with no refund."
The receptionist said while handing him the key. Still doesn't trust the two people who came in wearing a hood. Brent retrieves it with a smile.
"We will keep that in mind"
"You better" The receptionist grumbles "Your room is on the 3rd floor"
Brent said his goodbye and tugged Onia's shoulder to follow him. He looks around to find a star leading up. He and Onia take it.
"Thank you..."
Onia said in a low voice. She couldn't have got closer to her sister if Brent wasn't there.
"Say that again when we find your sister"
"Oh, right"
She looks at the sapphire in her palm. And it seems like it changes direction again. Onia looked around and found something out, she didn't know which floor her sister was on. The Sapphire only points toward a direction, not to exactly where the person resides.
"I think we got a problem... The sapphire can't tell which floor Theia is on."
Brent looks to check and sure enough, the sapphire can't do it.
"So we'll have to guess?"
"Or we could barge inside the room floor by floor"
Onia's suggestion is met with Brent's questioning gaze.
"What?"
Brent massaged his forehead and explained how bad it would be if she did that.
"Let's say we barge into the room and it's the wrong one what would happen?"
"Um... we would try another one?... Oh, the coppers would be upon us" She almost couldn't catch the conscience of such action.
"Exactly, We can't just go there and expect nothing to happen. If we weren't lucky It would have taken us a considerable amount of time to sneak into the church. Our luck doesn't extend to this. And let's say that We barge into the right room, what will happen next?"
They have taken rare chances where the church is out looking for a heretic, that's like a once-in-a-blue-moon event. If they go at it the normal way, they need to observe the church schedule and get in when they change priests. Then they would need to sneak in without anyone noticing. Just thinking about it made Brent glad that they had that opportunity.
"We would find Theia?"
"And a bunch of heretics, ready to fight us," Brent said "We could take some of them down but if they are more than three people it would get tricky. And if they have more than five people it would be fatal for us."
As much as Onia likes to barge in, she could see the logic in Brent's thinking.
"Then what do we do?"
"We observe and find out what, where, who, when, and why exactly is a cult in this place and where exactly Theia is."
"OK..... Where do we start?"
"Let's find out exactly which room your sister was in"
----------------------
Reeva woke up again this time, he still didn't recognize the place where he woke up. It's in an alley somewhere in Tumidus. He was sure of such a fact, the thing he was uncertain about was why the hell was there two enforcers talking to him.
"Hey, are you listening?"
"Oh, I'm sorry I haven't fully wake... yet"
Reeva sounds like a sluggish guy, it wasn't just his doziness but a deep pang in his head that kept him from talking normally.
"Why did you seek me?"
"Are you going senile? You are blocking the road."
"Oh"
Reeva gets up with much difficulty
"I'll let you off since it's a light crime but there won't be next time."
"Thank you"
After that, the officer was off. Guess dealing with Reeva was not his priority. He looks at the sky and sees that it's not late in the morning, the sun hasn't risen much. Then his head hurt again remembering the thing he had gone through.
Turning himself into a demon and getting out of it alive.
Not many people could have said that. Few would even turn a monster back into a human and much fewer have the means to do it, achieving it is a great feat. All of this is thanks to his phone. If not he could have died long ago.
As much as he likes to think this over, he needs to get moving. His maid and Theia must have been worried about where he is.
Would they though?
He travels back to his hotel and finds out that Theia and Hilda are searching for him, they reunite at the food stall. Yellow mist seeps through his body.
"Where have you been, master?" Hilda asks with a cold tone.
"I tried to sneak into a church" Reeva answered truthfully, he had nothing to lie... at least some of it, he told them about the process he used to sneak into the church and what he gained. The white slate.
A key to figuring out the white demon that eats the whole city.
He leaves out the part where he turns into a demon and then turns back, he thinks that part is too weird. and he leaves out that this is the component of a demon that would decimate the city.
And he didn't tell them about the dark castle. He wasn't sure what to tell, the place felt like he was in a dream, and if he told the story he would look even crazier than he already is.
"Master, next time you have to tell me about doing things like this" Hilda said "I could have helped you"
"I would" As Reeva saw it, he should have done this with Theia or Hilda, it would be way safer and maybe he wouldn't need to turn into a demon.
After Reeva answered her, a little smile broke out from her cold face. Stunning Reeva a bit. A yellow mist seeped through her body. Reeva's eyes widen, not only because the maid is happy but also because he can see the mystic force more clearly than before.
He smiles, at least he could gain something from this. His reckless action seems to have been justified somehow.
"um... I don't want to ruin the moment but, we got orders to fill" Theia said awkwardly while looking at the people lining up.
"Oh"
