[FATE] OP Demon King Across Multiverse!

Chapter 28: Chapter 27: The Contract is Sealed—Ryuu's First Servant

As Ryuu stood among the others, a victorious smile on his face, Artoria couldn't help but watch him with a quiet longing.

Even after everything, after fighting side by side, why was she now left behind?

The thought was fleeting, but it stung.

That's when she remembered the warning.

She turned to Ryuu, her expression tense.

"Master, be wary of a man named Solomon—he is the one who created this Singularity."

Ryuu's eyes narrowed.

Before he could respond, Dr. Roman's voice crackled through the communicator.

"Solomon? You mean… King Solomon? The third king of Israel—the one known as the Mage King?"

There was a slight tremor in his voice.

Ryuu raised an eyebrow.

(He sounds… weirdly defensive.)

But Artoria shook her head.

"I do not know if he is truly the Solomon of legend, but… he called himself Solomon and gave me the Holy Grail. His power is unfathomable, Master."

Before she could say more, her spiritual form began flickering.

Her connection to this world was fading.

Cú Chulainn, too, sighed heavily, his form glowing with the same departure light.

"Tch, looks like this is it for me."

Ryuu crossed his arms.

"You never rest, do you?"

Cú Chulainn chuckled.

"Not in my nature, Master. Take care of the little shield-girl, will ya?"

Ryuu smirked.

"She's tougher than you think."

Then—a thought struck him.

"Next time I summon you, it'll be as Lancer. That okay?"

Cú Chulainn grinned wickedly.

"Next time? Heh—fine by me, Master. Just don't hold back."

As his body disintegrated into motes of light, Ryuu could already hear his complaints fading into nothing.

(Yeah… that guy's never going to shut up.)

A faint chuckle left Ryuu's lips.

For some reason, he wasn't worried—he knew they'd meet again.

Artoria watched the exchange between Ryuu and the others, standing on the sidelines as a mere observer.

She clenched her fists.

(So even now… I am alone.)

Her thoughts drifted to the shadow that had controlled her.

Had she truly been nothing more than a pawn?

Would her fate never change?

"Master," she whispered suddenly.

"Am I truly destined… to always meet the same end? No matter how much fate is altered?"

Her voice wavered slightly.

"For all my power… am I still an unworthy king?"

Silence.

Then—

A scoff.

"You're an idiot," Ryuu said flatly.

Artoria blinked.

Ryuu stepped forward, his golden eyes sharp.

"Do you remember what I told you back in the city?"

"Of course," she answered instinctively.

He smirked.

"Then don't spout bullshit like that."

Artoria's lips parted slightly, but she found no words to respond.

"The only thing you're not qualified for—"

Ryuu reached forward and tapped her forehead lightly.

"—is that you never learned to value yourself."

Her breath hitched.

"I'll ask just once."

Ryuu raised his hand, and dark red magical circuits flared around him.

"Saber—fight for me."

Artoria's eyes widened.

"You…"

"Do I need to say it twice?" His smirk deepened.

"Or are you hesitating?"

Her hesitation vanished instantly.

With unwavering resolve, she dropped to one knee.

"I swear it," she declared.

"My blade and soul are yours, Master."

A magic circle ignited beneath Artoria's feet, pulsating with a crimson glow.

A sharp pain shot through her chest, but it was not unpleasant.

Her connection to Valhalla—was severed.

Instead, a new emblem burned onto her forehead—the sigil of Ryuu's Demon King lineage.

The contract was complete.

Her spiritual core stabilized, and for the first time…

Artoria felt alive.

"...This is…"

She lifted her hand, staring in disbelief.

Her body no longer flickered like a fading ghost.

Her heart—was beating.

"I… I have a real body?"

Even Ryuu looked mildly surprised.

(Huh. So turning a Heroic Spirit into a Servant-bound Familiar… actually makes them fully human?)

This was beyond expectations.

Artoria clenched her hand into a fist, feeling the warmth of life for the first time in centuries.

"I am… alive."

A miracle had occurred.

A loud screech shattered the moment.

Olga Marie stormed forward, her face red with frustration.

"WHAT. THE. HELL. JUST. HAPPENED?"

Ryuu sighed.

"I made Saber my Servant. Simple."

Olga threw her hands in the air.

"THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS!"

"Well, it just did."

Her eye twitched violently.

Mash and Ritsuka, meanwhile, simply stared at Artoria in amazement.

"Saber-san… is really alive now?" Mash murmured.

Ritsuka looked between Ryuu and Artoria, then smiled.

"That's amazing… Saber, congratulations!"

Artoria blinked in surprise.

(Congratulations?)

She hadn't expected anyone to say that.

For so long, she had been a tool of war.

But now—she was more than that.

A small smile formed on her lips.

"Thank you, Master."

Ryuu suddenly reached into his inventory space, retrieving a familiar golden sheath.

Artoria froze.

"This is…"

"Avalon," Ryuu confirmed.

"Since a certain someone isn't around anymore… I figured you should have it."

She looked genuinely stunned.

"...Master. I cannot accept this. You need it more than I do."

"Like hell I do," Ryuu scoffed.

"I have plenty of ways to survive. This thing is wasted on me."

He shoved it into her hands.

Artoria's fingers trembled as she clutched the holy relic.

Avalon—her rightful scabbard.

The sheath that protected her in life… now returned to her.

Slowly, she held it close to her chest.

"...Master," she whispered.

This was the first time she had ever been given something solely for herself.

For the first time in centuries—

Artoria Pendragon felt truly complete.
