Genshin Impact: I Opened Blind Boxes in Liyue

Chapter 28: Sucrose's Fantastic Creature Carnival

The afternoon sun in Mondstadt was like melted honey, lazily spilling over the stained glass windows of the alchemy workshop. Sucrose was on her tiptoes, carefully grafting a new batch of sweet flowers, when a deafening cheer from outside startled her—her hand slipped, and a pink petal floated perfectly into the dozing cauldron.

"Big Sister Sucrose! Your package is here!" Klee burst in like a cannonball, clutching a wicker box that was practically breakdancing. The lid was painted with fluorescent letters that read "Ling Feng Special Edition: Supreme Creature Blind Box," and with every bounce, it scattered glittering rainbow powder.

Paimon popped out from the box's seams, two tango-dancing mint leaves stuck to her head. "We tested it for you! This time, there's definitely no fire-breathing dragons, no water tornadoes, no potatoes that curse—oops!"

The box suddenly sprang open on its own, and out rolled three giant candy-coated eggs. The pink one had "Eat Me to Sing" printed on it, the blue one said "Touch Me to Dance," and the golden one simply had a grinning, goofy face.

"This is Big Brother Ling Feng's new 'Harmless Creature Blind Box'!" Klee held up a trumpet-shaped instruction manual. "Just soak the eggs in the corresponding liquid... Whoa!"

Before she could finish, the pink egg rolled into the honey sauce Sucrose had just prepared. With a soft *pop*, the shell cracked open, and out came a round, pink creature with three tufts of hair swaying to the rhythm of *Ren'ai Circulation*.

"Ding! Hidden effect triggered. Sucrose has obtained *Kirby of the Stars* Gourmet Kirby (Teyvat Special Edition)."

"Poyo~" The pink puff suddenly leaped up, turning Sucrose's glasses into strawberry cream puffs. It then swallowed Klee's backpack whole—only to spit it out tied with a bow and smelling of almond tofu.

Ten minutes later, Sara from the Good Hunter came chasing out with a spatula in hand. "Who turned my mushroom chicken skewers into runaway sweet flowers?!"

The streets of Mondstadt had turned into a surreal comedy:

Kirby jumped into the Angel's Share wine barrel, spraying dandelion wine with rainbow trails. A tipsy Venti was tap-dancing on wine bubbles;

The blue egg was mistaken by Amber for a new type of target. When she shot it, it burst open, releasing a swarm of jellyfish-like creatures that dragged Kaeya into a seaweed dance in the plaza;

The golden egg rolled into the Cat's Tail Tavern, and the flashy dust it released gave Diona cat ears and a tail. She was now being worshipped as a queen by a group of cats.

"This cellular structure completely defies Teyvat's biological records!" Sucrose chased after Kirby with a microscope, her notebook filled with anatomical sketches of food-based creatures. "How does your digestive system perform elemental conversion... Stop eating my quill!"

When the Knights of Favonius collectively turned into cartoonish versions of themselves, Albedo arrived with his sketchbook.

"Fascinating mutation energy," the alchemist said, his brush freezing Kirby—who was chasing Acting Grand Master Jean with a mousse cake—into a statue. "Sucrose, have you noticed how these creatures create Van Gogh-style starry patterns when they reconstitute matter?"

"Mr. Albedo! Please hold this Kirby still for three minutes!" Sucrose's antler-like ears were adorned with cream puffs. "I just need to extract a saliva sample... Hey, stop licking my alchemy tools!"

Mondstadt witnessed the most absurd art exhibition in history:

Kirby sneezed out rainbow candies that formed the Mona Lisa's smile in the sky;

The jellyfish creatures used their tentacles to dip into jam and paint a dynamic mural of *Starry Night* on the city walls;

The pièce de résistance was Diona's cat tail, which flicked chocolate sauce onto the stained glass windows of the Cathedral, turning them into *Tom and Jerry*-themed masterpieces.

By evening, all the creatures suddenly froze in place—Barbara stood in the center of the plaza, holding a modified lyre with colorful creature slime wrapped around its strings.

"This is a lullaby specially tuned to their vocal frequencies!" the idol explained, wiping sweat from her brow. "I just had to lower *Let the Wind Tell You* by 37.2% and mix in the vibration rhythm of slime condensate..."

Before she could finish, Kirby jumped onto the lyre and swallowed it, transforming it into a disco ball-adorned synthesizer. The deafening beats of *The Hottest Ethnic Wind* echoed through Mondstadt, and all the creatures began dancing a hypnotic square dance:

Dvalin, the Stormterror, swayed its tail to the rhythm, its scales reflecting KTV light effects;

Razor's wolf pack donned glow-in-the-dark collars and performed the ghost step;

Even the oak barrels at Dawn Winery grew little legs and tap-danced to the beat.

"Now this is what I call a city-wide celebration!" Vendi clapped along from the top of the bell tower, a bottle of apple wine in hand. "Acting Grand Master Jean, care to join in with *Drunken Butterfly*?"

As moonlight bathed Mondstadt, the creatures dissolved into sugar frost and scattered in the wind. Sucrose sat atop the bell tower, her notebook filled with data, her hair still dotted with rainbow sugar left by Kirby.

"Even though I couldn't capture a sample..." She adjusted her glasses, now caramel-colored from being licked. "I did verify the energy decay formula for cross-dimensional creatures!"

From below, Klee's cheers rang out. "Big Sister Sucrose! Before Kirby disappeared, it built a ten-meter-tall macaron tower at the city gate!"

Everyone fell silent as they gazed at the colossal tower made of eight thousand different flavored desserts. At the very top was a pink card that read: *"Afternoon tea for Sucrose~ Love, Kirby."*

Acting Grand Master Jean silently pulled out three boxes of digestive tablets. "Who's on duty at the clinic tonight? Raise your hands."
