*First Person POV: Aspen*

It had been a week since the creator of the Reaper class and his however many times granddaughter had joined my ranks. Working hand in hand with Presley and Patricia, Rick and Diane were devouring as much information as possible while experimenting with what they learned.

'They truly were just 2 innocent souls with a thirst for knowledge, especially that girl'. I thought to myself as I watched them going about their latest experiment with the shielding systems of the Vanguard. They were attempting to resize it so that it may be something that could fit in one's pocket and safeguard its user without the need for a giant reactor to career around. Of course, I could figure this out within a couple of hours, but it was starting to become rather interesting to watch these two at work.

I turned around and started walking back to my office, finishing my coffee while I walked. I had already finished all of my sketches and schematics for the Apostle class mech I would be assigning my private military and now had to finish the ones for the Monarch Class that I would be personally piloting and appointing to my future commanders who prove themselves worthy of them.

I was planning on only designing them for Tiers 5 to 7 due to the fact that, not only were they going to be given to my strongest and most worthy pilots and commanders, but they were also mechs made to completely dominate the battlefield, not just a battle. The way I was designing this mech it could face an entire battalion of 300 mechs by its lonesome and come out without a scratch.

Two hidden 120mm autocannons would extrude from its back and mount upon its shoulders for added defense. Its primary weapon would consist of a 350mm semi-auto sniper rifle that acted more like a marksman rifle with a muzzle velocity that put a railgun's muzzle velocity to shame.

In addition to that, two Katanas that were 7 meters long but could expand up to 14 meters in length would be its secondary weaponry. They would be made from the same processed Eternium alloy that a full-fledged Eternium Nova Reactor had. Being made of one of the strongest metals that is still technically unknown to mankind, at least its processed version, the Katanas would stay sharp no matter what they came in contact with.

Of course, these were just the plans, I hadn't even finished making the design or the schematics, let alone have a working model.

"But I'm sure that within another 3 weeks, I can get all of these things fully fleshed out…. And then I can finally begin my path as God's Reaper, starting with the Ajax's head…" I said to myself out loud, forgetting about my surroundings.

*Ba-da-doom-Crash*

The sound of multiple things coming down all at once snapped my attention back to reality as I turned to see Diane, who had entered my office with a datapad and a handful of questions for me, on the floor after having tripped backward.

I have to admit, seeing her on the floor, her short hair a mess and her glasses half-hanging onto her faintly scarred face… she was stunningly adorable. If I hadn't already made my mind up and sealed my heart for Autumn alone, then I would've definitely tried to woo her.

I stood up from my chair and walked up to her. I could see fear welling up in her eyes. "Don-don't kill me! Please!"

"What?" I asked, being completely caught off-guard by her words.

"I'm sorry, I won't ever come in without knocking. Just please don't kill me!" Diane said again as she used the datapad to shield her face.

"Hey," I said as I bent down in front of her. "I'm not that kind of guy," I said, lightly flicking her in the forehead.

"Ouch," Diane winced while rubbing her forehead. "You're really not going to kill me after I overheard your future plans to kill someone?"

This caused me to chuckle. I stood up and extended my hand down for her to hold. "Here, let me help you up."

She obliged and I helped her stand back up, her face turning the shade of a sunset as she blushed. 'Yeah, whoever gets with her will be one lucky man,' I thought to myself. "I do have plans to go on a crusade through the stars, ridding this universe of corruption, of evil, helping those who need help the most. Freeing the enslaved and yada yada."

My words seemed to reassure her but she still had questions. "What about this Ajax? Why do you want to cut his head off?" Rick entered my office right as she finished asking the question.

He grabbed her by the shoulders and looked at me with an apologetic smile. "Aspe-Azrael, I'm sorry for Diane's curiosity and her invading questions. She has always been like that since she was a child."

I shook my head, "No, it's alright. I don't mind it. As for Ajax, well," I clutched my fists as I thought of that fucker's face. "That bastard… a man I once called my brother… he killed, no he stole something irreplaceable from me… my family."

Without knowing it, my eyes were alight with fury and my palms were in a constant cycle of regenerating and being torn by my fingernails. Blood was seeping from my clenched fists but I managed to calm myself. "Him, and many like him, are who I will launch my crusade against. You were right about one thing Rick, I will bring this universe to its knees. All will bow, some out of fear, and they should be afraid, but the majority will do so willingly out of respect and reverence for doing away with the sickness that plagues this universe."

Rick nodded as he pushed Diane out of the door. "Kid, everyone's got a story to tell," he spoke to Diane before turning to me. "There's nothing else I can say other than I'm truly sorry for yours."

"So am I," I whispered softly as they left me alone in my office. I looked at my hands, fresh blood adorned them but there was no scarring or tearing of the skin visible, the nanobots having been at work the entire time.

"So am I…."

The next three weeks went by in a breeze. It was just a constant cycle of going into a simulation for months at a time, making a prototype of the Monarch class in that universe, creating an autonomous AI to keep on fighting for freedom and with specific instructions to enhance the lives of the people they are assigned to protect once the simulation time is over, and then coming back to this universe and continuing with changes and enhancements before completing the design and starting to make some units.

Every single mech that had once made up the forces that had come with the HQ had been dismantled and recycled to make the Apostle-class mechs that they would now be using. However, they remained hidden from sight and the mechs used to patrol and as protection were all Vanguard units.

I had also taken some creative liberties with the Apostle mechs and divided them into two categories. The Apostle of Life and the Apostle of Death. The Apostle of Life was a lighter and sleeked smaller frame equipped with a compact rifle and a spear while the Apostle of Death was bigger and bulkier, equipped with a really powerful LMG that had a slow firing rate but packed quite the punch.

The Apostle of Life would be suited for normal soldiers in my ranks while the Apostle of Death would be reserved for Captains and decorated pilots.

The board of directors had taken charge of expanding A.V.I's reach and the business in general, creating partnerships with other like-minded companies. Business was booming and the day of retribution was slowly approaching. I got my Tier 5 Monarch fully operational and having just reached the Alpha tier pilot level, the only left to do was to test this new toy out.

The Monarch I had created was composed of 2 downscaled Eternium Nova Reactors that I took to just simply calling Novas. I had upscaled the autocannons and swapped them out for Beam autocannons that would shoot a small energy bullet siphoned from the reactors. The amount of energy this would draw was lackluster in comparison to how quickly the Monarch's energy reserves would be replenished by its reactors.

Before testing out the Monarch, I decided to make use of the 3 new rewards I had obtained from the last 3 "simulations." One of them was a Medium-sized military HQ with 50 pilots and all the logistics and employees needed to function as a regular office building just like the first HQ I had obtained. I decided to place this one down right next to the current HQ.

As soon as I pressed confirm, the landscape before my eyes morphed as the new HQ was created. I selected the forces to all be equipped with Reaper class mechs that would just be recycled and replaced with Vanguards. Due to the fact that I had now become an Alpha tier pilot, the mechs were all Tier 4 mechs. No complaints from me, better quality trash to be recycled and reused.

The next reward was a Lead Researcher and another Lead Engineer. I selected them and before me, another married couple appeared. They introduced themselves to me along with the 50 new pilots that had been added to my ranks. After introductions, it was time to get the biggest reward.

I selected the giant Manufacturing plant that made the Mech factory appear like a baby next to an adult in comparison. This one was also fully automated with only the need of a Lead Researcher and Engineer. It could quadruple our current production and keep all secrets hidden for a while longer.

I selected the land further back behind the current factory and we all watched reality morph as a behemoth of a Manufacturing plant emerged perfectly morphed into the mountainscape.

Rick and Diane, who had yet to get a glimpse of the things Aspen's system could do, were left awestruck as they witnessed everything occurring around them.

"This…this is simply impossible," Rick said as he took his glasses off. Everyone around him chuckled except for Diane who shared the same thought process as Rick.

"Old man, when you're around Aspen long enough, the impossible becomes the every other day ordeal," Ghost said as he rested his hand on Rick's shoulder.

"Bu-but how. This is simply unimaginable unless he was a god or something," Diane said, finally breaking her silence.

"You could said that again, Pumpkin," Jess said as she approached her with Raven and Takara in toe.

"Every single one of us was dead at some point before the Commander summoned us all here," Takara said. "We all had fallen in the line of duty, and I still remember my death perfectly. My units mechs were too damaged to even consider for scrap, so the higher-up let us drift aimlessly in the endless cold expanse of space…. Until we ran out of oxygen."

"Yeah, you got it worse than me, sister," Takeshi spoke up, preparing to share his own story. "We just got turned to cinders when the planet we were fighting on was glassed and its core destabilized. The last thing I remember was seeing a bright flash as before a chunk of the planet turned my entire unit into a pancake. Such honorless cowards."

Rick and Diane's jaws almost hit the floor at these revelations. "Wait, what?"

I decided to speak up to clarify things a little more, "To be 100 percent honest with you all, Ghost, Viking, Maximus, Raven, and Gray here were all part of my troops. We all died, including me, at the hands of someone who was once our fellow comrade."

I then took off my shirt, showcasing my tattoos for Rick to see. There was something I had discovered about these tattoos. The fact they they weren't just tattoos. They actually held power that enhanced my abilities and stats by 7 times their current value when activated. I could have them activated for 6 days straight before having to take the 7th day to rest.

Activating their power, the tattoos glowed in a golden and cyan color. Rick stared at my tattoos in awe walking around me to see the ones on my back as well. He then looked up at me, his mouth agape. "You…. you are no mere man."

Diane was shaken from her stupor as she looked at Rick quizzically. "What do you mean by that 'appa?"

Rick pointed a shaky finger at my tattoos, "That language… it was a language that had been dead long before our ancestors left the cradle of the human race. Latin, is what it's called. I was always obsessed with the records we had managed to find of it, and from what I can tell, these… are no mere tattoos."

Rick stopped briefly, closing his eyes and inhaling deeply, "They tell a story of an old forgotten god of humanity. The one said to have created us."

Diane was still confused with Rick's explanation, "God's aren't rea-"

*KABOOM* x7

7 lightning arcs struck the ground surrounding me, electrifying the air and miraculously not hurting anyone. Everyone looked up to the sky, the sun was still out and it was clear as can be with not a cloud in sight.

"Th-the-the-the oon-one true God," Rick stammered.

I smiled as I looked down at the old man. "You're a wise man and one who's lived way beyond the years he should have lived. Yes, my backer is the one true God, the creator of it all, YAHWEH. And I, well I'm nothing more than his servant, I am his Reaper."

Rick looked at me with fear, "You, you're not here to save this universe. You're here to pass judgment, which is why you speak of going on a crusade throughout the cosmos."

I shook my head. "You're both right and wrong, old man. I'm not here to save this universe, I'm here to cleanse it. Through the process of me cleansing it, I will also be saving it, from itself. But none of that matters for now. I will be needing 20 pilots for the attack we will be launching tomorrow on Ajax's base."

"Takeshi and Takara, I want only one of you to come with, so choose who will be coming and select the pilots. In the meantime," I paused as I glanced at the Black and Gold Monarch slowly poking through the ground level as a platform raised it from the underground section of the factory in the distance. "I have some tests to perform."
