Chapter 246: Chapter 245: Sleep
"Phew…"
As the video call ended and the screen on his phone dimmed, Kaminari let out a long sigh of relief. To be honest, owing someone a favor always left him feeling uneasy.
Even though neither Principal Nezu nor Mitsui Buntais had actively demanded anything from him, their help weighed on him. In some ways, it would have been easier if they had asked for something in return, at least then it could have been treated as a simple transaction.
Kaminari glanced up at the clock on the wall and murmured, "Still a few hours until Kyoka gets out of school. Guess I'll go wash up first."
Unlike most students who finished school after six classes, the Hero Course required a seventh period, meaning their dismissal time was an hour later 4:10 p.m. Including the hour-long commute from Shizuoka Prefecture to Saitama City, Kyoka would probably arrive around 5:30.
"Ah…"
Now in the bathroom, completely undressed and standing under the shower, Kaminari let the warm water wash over him. "When she's ready to leave, I'll have to take her home myself…"
To be honest, Kaminari didn't feel like going out today. His ideal plan was simple: enjoy the dinner his mother had prepared, then flop onto his own soft bed and sleep the rest of the day away.
Sure, the detention center had a bed, but the environment couldn't compare to the comfort of being at home.
"Man, I haven't even gotten to enjoy being single for a few days, and now I'm already dealing with 'girlfriend problems.' Maybe I should convince Kyoka to stay the night…"
As the warmth of the water filled the bathroom, steam began to swirl around him, fogging up the mirror and creating a calm, soothing atmosphere.
"The more I think about it, the more it seems like a good idea," Kaminari muttered to himself, his lips curling into a small smile.
Kyoka was coming directly from school, so she would obviously have her schoolbag with her. That meant they could head to school together tomorrow morning without any trouble.
And as for where she'd stay, well, the house had an extra room just sitting there unused.
Kaminari's house had three bedrooms and a living room. One bedroom belonged to his parents, one was his, and the third was a guest room. It was perfect, really.
However, Kaminari didn't seem to realize that the logistics weren't the real issue. The bigger question was whether it was appropriate for him to suggest Kyoka stay the night.
Would his parents agree? Maybe. But what about Kyoka's parents? And Kyoka herself, would she be okay with it?
None of these questions crossed Kaminari's mind. His thoughts were surprisingly innocent.
He didn't have any inappropriate ideas or extreme expectations about Kyoka staying over. Sure, they were officially dating now, but she was still only fifteen, and he didn't see their relationship that way.
At most, he'd be happy with a hug or maybe a kiss, just the small joys of having a girlfriend.
After washing away the stress and exhaustion from the past few days, Kaminari wrapped a towel around his waist and left the bathroom feeling refreshed. Entering his room, he immediately plopped down on his soft bed with a satisfied sigh.
"Pika…"
The Pikachu perched on his computer chair glanced at Kaminari, a conflicted expression crossing its face. Kaminari's casual flop onto the bed had caused his quilt to crumple under him.
Oblivious to Pikachu's expression, Kaminari grabbed his phone and began scrolling aimlessly. His first stop was his personal pages on Japanese MTV and Facebook.
The MTV comment section was flooded with fans expressing their love for his songs. Most of the comments followed similar themes.
Some people shared which songs they loved and why, while others begged for new releases. One comment at the top even included a screenshot.
Alphasuzy: "Hahaha! Look at this—look! I actually won a spot for the 'Seifu Concert!' Aren't you all jealous?!"
Seeing this, Kaminari chuckled softly. "What ridiculous luck."
Due to the event being held at a small school, safety and order were a priority, meaning attendance was strictly limited. Only thirty fans were selected via lottery to attend.
Curious, Kaminari clicked on the reply section, which had 2,135 comments.
JumpingWox: "What insane luck! Only thirty spots, and you actually got one?!"
Aidenous_Senpai: "So jealous! This is Kaminari Denki's first concert, and I heard Kyoka's going to be there too!"
Chanter_3957: "Uh, duh? Kaminari's the leader of the 'Pikachu Band.' Why wouldn't he bring Kyoka?"
Austinrex: "Still, it's such a shame this isn't a full concert. Why are they doing a commercial performance at an elementary school?"
LoonyToons: "I actually know a bit about this. Apparently, Kaminari's family company is working with the school to turn it into a 'Pokémon-Themed School.' Everything from the buildings and playground to the tables, chairs, and even the uniforms will have Pokémon elements."
raphohwell: "That sounds amazing! It's like something straight out of a Pokémon world!"
Oh Dear World: "I looked up some pictures, and it's incredible. Even the basketball hoops are shaped like Charizards!"
This comment included three promotional photos of Seifu Elementary School. The images immediately sparked envy among other users, many lamenting that they'd never had anything this cool when they were kids.
Half Moon: "I'm going to talk to my parents about transferring schools. If I transfer now, I should still have two years left there…"
"Hahaha!"
Kaminari couldn't help but burst into laughter at the absurdity of this comment. His laughter came so suddenly that he accidentally scrolled further down the page.
Still, as he thought about it, he couldn't help feeling a little envious himself. A "Pokémon-Themed Elementary School" was like something out of a dream.
"Maybe I should look into installing a virtual Pokémon battle simulator at Seifu Elementary. That way, the kids can have weekly Pokémon battles!"
Kaminari's imagination began to run wild. He envisioned a world where children everywhere grew up with Pokémon by their side.
Yeah, the more people involved, the more fun it would be. Pokémon was meant to be shared.
"'Black Hood,' huh?" Kaminari muttered, his tone turning contemplative. "Compared to following you and becoming the world's enemy, isn't it more interesting to change the world into what I want it to be?"
Far away, All For One could never have guessed that his temptation had failed against something as simple as Pokémon.
"And Yu-Gi-Oh!," Kaminari continued, a sly grin forming on his lips. "After the final exams, I'll launch it officially over the summer break."
