Reko looked to be in awe as he witnessed the bear of height taller than himself stop in an instant. It could not even struggle for a second, unable to move and vulnerable to attacks.

"I will be holding them off. You guys just go around and check out the area."

Kurenai ordered the Genins to proceed with the patrolling while she stood and waited for them near the subdued bear.

Shino nodded, retrieving his insects from the bigger bear, freeing it. But before the bear could move and gather strength to retaliate, Kurenai had once again casted a genjutsu.

The bigger bear, similar to the smaller one, stopped still in its place. It did not struggle in vain anymore, submitting. Though, it still made low grunting noises.

'Alright!! It seems that I might not really be able to defeat her in a one on one. I have better chances against Tsume.'

Reko finally realised that his earlier assumptions were very biased. Kurenai was not weak! At least not against Reko who had no knowledge of genjutsu.

Even in the story, genjutsu was a really overpowered technique which could only be countered by chakra control, and physical pain.

Though there were many potholes, but that was for people with tailed beasts and visual prowess like Uchiha and Hyugas only.

'Guys like Orochimaru and Kisame had lost to genjutsu. This is the only attack which my knowledge would not help with. Although, it was Itachi who did that.'

Reko had knowledge of various techniques and kekkei genkais but genjutsu? No! He had to start from the very beginning for this.

"It's clear! Nothing in the area except for these two." Shino announced to Kurenai.

Hearing Shino's words, Reko was pulled out of his thoughts. For his next part of training, he decided to focus on chakra control and genjutsu countering.

It was not Kurenai that he was scared of. Instead, it was others like Itachi, Sasuke, and Obito. All three of them were enemies of the leaf village and Reko knew that he was going to stand out among the many shinobis of the village soon.

Done with their part of patrolling, Kurenai and the group moved to the chosen checkpost to wait for Tsume and Anko.

Before moving, Kurenai undid the genjutsu as both the beasts were unable to come out of it on their own. She had no intentions to deal with the beasts.

At the meeting point, dusk,

"You guys should head back to the village. I have my mission to continue."

Anko announced, she was not a part of their mission and had only tagged along with them temporarily. Now that the mission was completed, Anko was going to separate from the group.

Reko took a short look at Anko's back, the desire for her cursed seal of heaven was evident in his eyes. But he managed to control his urge, the cursed seal was not something he could risk learning when he already had the method and summon to learn sage mode.

It would be an idiotic choice to do so!!

The group did not mind the separation. They were already aware that Anko had just tagged along, nothing much.

Their goal at the moment was to reach the village before dark. The sun was beginning to go down and they did not wish to spend night in the makeshift camps any longer.

'Finally!'

It was already dark but they managed to reach the village gate. Since the mission was not an urgent matter, they decided to submit the report tomorrow morning.

It was anyways not Reko's responsibility. So, he went to his home without a care in the world. Tsume was the main leader of the group, her presence would be enough to submit the report.

"Alright, I am good to go now."

But that was not the end of trouble for Reko. He needed to finish the Genin level charge before getting to sleep. He wished to reach Chunin level of charge but that was not practical with the nightmares he was getting.

He knew that he would stop channeling chakra to Steal mid-sleep. Since, he did not have the chakra control to pull it off, he decided to settle with the Genin charge.

He had been trying to keep his reserves full with his surplus chakra from regeneration going to Steal.

When he finally reached home, he sat in a meditative position as he finished the process by sending almost 80% of his chakra reserves.

The chakra supply stopped, it felt ethereal, a glow could be perceived by his mind or perhaps it was the imagination.

His very first charge acquired by using chakra was now visible to Reko. Though, he decided to rest after draining himself of his majority of chakra.

Reko slipped into deep sleep, anticipation present in his exhausted eyes for tomorrow.

Next day, in Hokage's office.

"He managed to assassinate a Jonin? I did not expect him to be that good."

Tsunade read the report she had received from Tsume. Tsume was not the only Jonin that was present, together with her stood Kurenai.

After informing Tsunade of the important events, Tsume and Kurenai waited for Tsunade to react.

The noteworthy point of the report was Anko helping and tagging along with them, and Reko defeating a Jonin enemy on his own.

Recalling the young shinobi, Tsunade felt that it must have been a strange fate for her to find a Senju, that too with such talent.

As for the shining jutsu that Tsume had reported in the mission report vaguely, Tsunade decided to ignore that point.

Everyone had a secret move that they did not want others to find out.

"You said he wanted to learn medical ninjutsu, right? Inform him that he can join me in the hospital."

Shizune moved from behind Tsunade. She had been working on the documents that Tsunade was supposed to handle on the table nearby. She took out a scroll from under the table and wrote a few words in it, almost like a note. She passed the scroll together with another scroll that she pulled out from her robe to an Anbu.

The Anbu took the two scrolls from Shizune's hands and instantly disappeared from the room as soon as he appeared. His mission was simple, pass the scrolls to Reko Senju.
