Creak

The iron door creak open and two men walk inside, making many inside the building perk up. The building was completely dark and look much like a prison.

Part of the reason is becuase it was a prison, prison or cage for those unlucky enough to be experimented by Orochimaru.

'No matter how much anyone argues about how big of a genius that guy was, or how powerful he was or how ultimately he turn into a new leaf, one can't deny that that man did some sick things...." Shika entered into the building and saw rows of cages and prisons inside, his Sharingan providing him excellent dynamic eyesight.

The silence in the building was unnerving. The place was cold and felt almost lifeless.

"Are you sure that this is the place...?" Shika asked to the man beside him.

"Yes, if they are alive even after all this time then this is were we gonna find them..." Kimimiaru said and Shika hearing this grimmed.

Shika understood what the man was trying to imply here, its already been 6 months since Orochimaru has been dead, no one came here for 6 months.

Anything could happen that time, from prison break out to the jailors of this place themselves decides run away, abandoning everyone and thus killing everyone else who were imprisoned here.

Shika could only hope that the two people who he was looking for are here and in good enough condition.

"Come on..." Kimimaro said and entered the building. Shika too nooded and followed him all the way.

Conversation with Kimimaro was way different than Haku. While he could tell haku a kind of friend, Kimimaro was definitely not playing friendly with him.

Shika kind of knew that, so he right of the back, show what he was capable of and then, gave Kimimaro an offer which he indeed wasn't able to refuse.

He was dying, in the cannon, he had a terminal disease much like itachi. And since in this world, Kimimaro never fought against Gaara and Lee in the Sasuke retrieval ack, because Shika never let that happen.

Kimimaro was alive.

'This motherfucker was able to beat the shit out of both Gaara and Lee at the same time when he was ill. If there was one person who Shika wanted to bring in his team then this was that person.

However, pursuing that would be hard, in the cannon Kimimaro was quite royal to Orochimaru. So much so that he was ready to die for him against both Lee and Gaara.

If Orochimaru were to be alive then bringing him to his team would be almost impossible, but that snake was long gone...

Or did he ? hmmm...

By the time Shika track him down, Kimimaro was dying, no longer having Orochimaru to check and balance his disease did a number on him.

His complexion was dark, there were dark circles under his eyes and his even this breathing in normal state was haggard.

Shika thought that he might had to fight with the guy but nope, not much was left in Kimimaro to fight him.

So in this case, when he was dying, what possibly Shika could offer him ?

The gift of LIFE...

"I can heal you, not cure you but bring you back to your healthy state. All I asked is you work for me. I won't ask for anything unreasonable.

Not asking you to put your pride on line or anything, all I ask is that you help me in my goal. Again this is not an order or anything.

You can leave anytime if you wish to do so in future." that was what Shika told him.

Kimimaro of course looked sceptical but all that doubt evaporated when Shika partially healed him with Reverse Curse Energy. The look on his face was worth taking a photo if smartphones were a thing in this world.

For a man, who almost saw dead in front of him, that was nothing less than a miracle.

Kimimaro almost gave up the hope of living on after even Orochimaru wasn't able to fully cure him. He wasn't afraid of death though, far from it.

He was willing to die anytime, as long as his death made sense, and made some difference...

But even before he got a chance, his master was dead. And then he was about to die just like that, running out of time due to a stupid disease. Not in a fight like a warrior, a shinobi but rather weak by damn disease.

Maybe others could resent this kind of death, but Kimimaro completely denied it.

Becuase he was from the Kaguya clan. That was the clan of warriors, even when Kimimaru never liked his clan and their brutish traditions, he still took pride in being a Kayuga.

So, when Shika come out of nowhere and heals him. Kimimaru really couldn't refuse the offer he had for him.

And thus, Kimimaru agreed to Shika's offer, it wasn't final that he gonna work for Shika forever, just as Shika said, he would leave if he had to but for the time being at least, Kimimaro planned to go along.

"Who are you looking for ?" Kimimaru took Shika to the inner area of one of the abandoned Orochimaru's laboratories.

Yeah, though the place looked like a prison but a Laboratory was what this place was in reality, and those prisoners were the lab rats of Orochimaru.

"A Hozuki from Hidden Mist, a man named Jugo and a woman named Guren..." Shika replied as he was keeping an eye for anyone would might attack them out of nowhere.

This place gotta have some guards right.

"This way then..." Kimimaro nodded, exactly knowing who Shika was talking about.

Though he wasn't aware of this Hozuki but he knew Jugo, Orochimaru often let orders him to control that monster's outbreak whenever he goes berserk.

As for Guren, she was the only person who could rival both himself and Kabuto... there was nothing to say about her. She was strong.

"We are here..." Kimimaro pointed at the place, as they enter the place he found there this was different than normal.

Though a prison this still was, but it didn't felt like a cage. All the prison cells here were bigger and only hosted one person inside.

It was clear that unlike those prisoners earlier, this here were priced by Orochimaru.

And thus he didn't mindlessly ravage their bodies with countless experiences and turn them into mindless broken dolls.

"Oi, finally someone's here. Its been 6 fucking months jackass, what the hell were you doing ?" Suddenly a loud sound came.
