Chapter 194: Chapter 194: The Showdown Between Orochimaru and Jiraiya
In the tight confines of Jiraiya's Needle Jizo technique, his expression was one of concern.
"Are you alright, Tsunade?"
Tsunade didn't answer, her face cold as she snapped, "You could've used a Fire Release earlier."
Jiraiya scratched his head, chuckling awkwardly.
"Heh, you caught that, huh?"
Just as he was about to make another quip—or hold onto her a little longer—Tsunade brought her knee up sharply, hitting Jiraiya in the gut.
"Let me out already, idiot! Orochimaru's going to escape!"
"Ah! Right, right!"
Breaking into a sweat, Jiraiya quickly dispelled the Needle Jizo. His long, spiky white hair returned to its natural state as the surrounding snakes once again surged toward them.
Jiraiya focused his chakra, oil forming in his mouth. At the same time, he unleashed a Fire Release technique.
"Fire Release: Flame Bullet!"
The blazing flames engulfed the remaining snakes, leaving nothing but charred remnants in their wake.
But just as Tsunade had predicted, Orochimaru had already gained some distance.
He formed hand seals with precision, summoning two massive snakes with a command.
"Fierce Serpent Stride!"
The air grew heavy with the scent of snakes as the enormous creatures slithered toward their prey. Their smooth, glistening scales reflected the light ominously as their unblinking eyes locked onto their target.
"Hmph!"
Tsunade scoffed, ignoring the approaching serpents as she charged after Orochimaru. She knew she didn't need to look back—the man behind her would handle everything in her path.
"Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld!"
With a single low chant, Jiraiya turned the ground beneath the snakes into a vast, viscous swamp. The creatures thrashed and writhed but were soon swallowed by the muddy depths.
Meanwhile, Orochimaru scaled the hospital walls, leaping up to the second floor. But just as he landed, a sudden gust of wind struck from behind.
"Ha!"
Orochimaru turned, his pupils narrowing in shock as he barely dodged Tsunade's incoming kick. Her leg, raised high, sliced through the air with devastating power.
Serpent-like in his movements, Orochimaru shifted his body unnaturally, avoiding her attack by a hair's breadth.
Tsunade pivoted mid-air, her foot slamming into the wall to regain momentum as she launched herself at Orochimaru again.
Jiraiya, having dealt with the giant snakes, arrived swiftly. He clapped his hands together, his white hair suddenly extending like iron chains.
"Ninja Art: Wild Lion's Mane Jutsu!"
The strands of hair shot toward Orochimaru, coiling and whipping like serpents of their own.
Faced with the relentless attacks from both sides, Orochimaru had no choice but to abandon his climb and leap down to the ground below.
Tsunade landed right after, her chest heaving slightly from the exertion.
"Give it up, Orochimaru!" she commanded sharply.
Jiraiya approached calmly, blocking Orochimaru's escape.
"You heard her, Orochimaru. You're no match for the two of us. If you keep this up, we won't hold back anymore."
Orochimaru's expression darkened, his mind racing.
Surrender? Not a chance.
He sneered inwardly.
After all the planning I've done, there's no way I'm giving up because of these two.
Jiraiya sighed deeply. "So this is how it has to be…"
Both he and Orochimaru bit their thumbs, quickly weaving hand seals before slamming their hands to the ground.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
Two colossal creatures appeared, their sheer size shaking the earth and filling the hospital courtyard.
On one side stood Gamabunta, a massive toad wearing a blue coat and puffing on his pipe. His orange-and-white body exuded a sense of grizzled authority.
On the other side was Manda, a terrifying serpent with four horns and dark purple scales lined with black patterns.
Gamabunta took a long drag from his pipe, exhaling slowly as he surveyed the scene.
"Jiraiya, what's this? A class reunion?"
Jiraiya rubbed the back of his head, visibly annoyed. "Can you not crack jokes the moment you show up?"
Meanwhile, Orochimaru was speaking to Manda.
"Manda, I'll need you to hold off those two for a while. I'll make sure you're well compensated—one hundred live sacrifices as your feast."
Manda's tongue flicked out, his yellow eyes glinting with satisfaction.
"Fine, but I want a thousand sacrifices this time."
"A thousand?!" Orochimaru's face twisted in frustration. He gritted his teeth but didn't argue, leaping toward the hospital instead.
Tsunade was about to summon Katsuyu when Jiraiya stopped her.
"Tsunade, go after Orochimaru. Leave this to me and Gamabunta. We're still in the village, so let's keep the destruction to a minimum."
Tsunade nodded, sprinting past Manda and Gamabunta in pursuit of Orochimaru.
Gamabunta blew a smoke ring directly into Manda's face.
"So, it's you, huh? My opponent for today."
Manda hissed, coiling his massive body.
"Filthy toad! I'll devour you whole!"
Gamabunta rested one hand on his pipe, the other on the hilt of his short sword, his eyes narrowing.
"Perfect. I've been needing a new snakeskin wallet."
Manda coiled his body tightly, seething with rage. "You arrogant toad! I'll devour you whole!"
With that, the two titans clashed, each strike shaking the earth beneath them. Their battle was so intense that the shockwaves rivaled those from the Sannin's own skirmish.
....
From afar, the villagers and ninja alike wondered in confusion:
"What on earth is happening today?"
At the village gates, Kakashi stared at the water-based technique unleashed by Tobirama, his mind filled with equal parts awe and envy.
But wait…
Where was the Second Hokage?!
"Water Release: Surfing Strike!"
Tobirama emerged silently from the water behind Kakashi, a katana poised to strike.
"Flying Thunder God Technique!"
Kakashi disappeared in a flash, leaving Tobirama to strike empty air. Moments later, Kakashi reappeared beside Minato, his expression grave.
"Minato-sensei, do you have any strategies?"
Minato smiled bitterly. "We're up against those two legends. I'm afraid there's no simple solution."
Sarutobi Hiruzen clapped his hands together, summoning Enma, the Monkey King.
"Our only chance is to suppress them with overwhelming force and seal their souls. Fortunately, their powers are far from what they once were. Otherwise, Konoha would be doomed."
Kakashi's eyes widened. "Far from what they once were? Does that mean… this isn't their full strength?!"
Hiruzen shot him a sidelong glance.
"What did you think? Those two ruled an entire era."
Kakashi muttered under his breath, "I always thought you were the strongest Hokage…"
Hiruzen: "…"
That… he had no response for.
