One Piece : Captain, We’ve Arrived at Laugh Tale

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 : Luffy, The Armor Color On Your Straw Hat Is Off

The sky gradually darkened.

Carl and Luffy sat by the fire, sprinkling salt and soy sauce over a beast roasting above the flames.

Luffy couldn't stop drooling, but under carl's strict gaze, he didn't dare touch the undercooked meat. If he did, the consequences would be serious.

Carl drew the black blade from his waist and sliced off a piece of meat, carefully inspecting its color.

Then, with a sudden swing of his sword, he cut the massive creature into several large chunks and handed most of them to Luffy.

"The meat's ready. Let's eat."

This was exactly what Luffy had been waiting for. He grabbed the meat with both hands and stuffed it into his mouth.

Carl silently poured two glasses of sake, then picked up a knife and fork, eating with refined movements. He wasn't a noble, but he still cared about maintaining a proper image.

However, when he glanced at Luffy, he suddenly snatched away a piece of thigh meat.

"Mr. Carl! Why are you taking my meat?!" Luffy protested.

"Look at your straw hat," Carl said calmly. "The Armament Haki on it faded. As your teacher, it's only natural for me to punish you."

Luffy froze for a moment, then touched his straw hat with his greasy hand and suddenly realized what Carl meant.

Still, he looked a little aggrieved.

Carl took his time eating the thigh meat as he lectured, "Luffy, you're the captain, so on the ship, everyone listens to you.

But I'm your teacher. When it comes to your training, you listen to me."

"As I told you before, your straw hat is important to you. Important things must be protected, so you have to keep it covered in Armament Haki at all times—no slacking.

This not only protects the hat but also strengthens your control over Haki. But just now, you let it drop, so I had to punish you. Understand?"

Luffy nodded. "Mr. Carl is right! I won't eat that piece of meat!"

Losing food was painful for Luffy, but one of his good traits was admitting his mistakes without hesitation.

Carl smirked mischievously and continued eating, enjoying his meal even more.

Still, he thought to himself, I really need to find a cook soon. A teacher cooking for his own students? That's just too pitiful.

The next morning, the sun shone brightly.

The boat drifted across the sea as the two young men sat on board, chatting idly.

A whirlpool quietly formed and began expanding rapidly, pulling the boat into its swirling currents. However, the two people on board showed no sign of panic. Instead, they found it amusing as the whirlpool spun the boat around.

"Hahaha! This is awesome! Adventures are the best!" Luffy laughed, pressing down on his straw hat with one hand.

"Luffy, as the captain, you should be able to handle a whirlpool like this. Otherwise, you'll end up drowning," Carl said with a yawn.

"No problem, leave it to me."

Luffy looked confident and calm. As the boat neared the center of the whirlpool, he stretched out his arm and launched a Gomu Gomu no Pistol straight into it.

With a loud boom, the whirlpool exploded, and the force of the waves pushed the boat outward.

"All done!" Luffy stood on the boat, hands on his hips, flashing his usual carefree grin.

Carl shook his head and chuckled.

In the original story, Luffy encountered a whirlpool right after setting out to sea and had to escape by hiding inside a wooden barrel. But now, things were completely different—Luffy had the strength to destroy the whirlpool outright.

As the boat continued sailing, a pirate ship could be seen in the distance attacking a merchant vessel. The pirate flag bore a red heart symbol.

Sure enough, that was Alvida's ship. The beginning of One Piece's story was unfolding right in front of them.

Carl sighed in resignation.

The pull of fate in this world was too strong. Even after changing Luffy's abilities, he still ended up following the same major events. The details might differ, but the outcome remained unchanged.

Of course, this was probably just the natural flow of things.

If Carl had taken Luffy to another island, the story would have definitely changed.

But he had no desire to do that. First, because he was lazy. And second, because changing the story would mean losing the advantage of knowing what would happen next. If that happened, everything would become harder to predict.

Rather than complicating things, it was easier to just go with the flow.

"Whoa! Teacher Carl, there's a pirate crew attacking a merchant ship ahead! Let's go fight them!" Luffy said excitedly.

"Go by yourself. I'm taking a nap," Carl waved him off casually.

Luffy didn't argue and immediately launched himself toward Alvida's ship using Geppo (Moonwalk).

His Moonwalk was well-practiced. Although he could use his Devil Fruit abilities to grab onto things and move through the air, the open sea had no obstacles for him to use. Given that Luffy couldn't swim, mastering Moonwalk was a must. Luckily, he loved the idea of flying, so he had learned it quickly.

Boom!

Luffy landed right on Alvida's ship.

The pirates had already tied ropes between their ship and the merchant vessel, preparing to board and plunder. But just as they were about to move, Luffy dropped from the sky, startling all of them.

"Who are you?! How did you get on my ship?!" Alvida, the large, mace-wielding pirate, shouted.

"Me? I'm Luffy! The man who's going to be King of the Pirates!" Luffy declared loudly.

His words left Alvida and her crew in stunned silence. They couldn't believe what they had just heard.

Especially Koby, the pink-haired cabin boy hiding to the side, was completely shocked.

Is this straw hat guy an idiot?!

"King of the Pirates? Hahaha! What a joke!"

Alvida burst into laughter, and her crew followed. But Luffy didn't care. His dream was his own, and there was nothing funny about saying it out loud. What was truly ridiculous was being too afraid to speak about your own dream.

"How dare you set foot on Lady Alvida's ship?! I think you've got a death wish, Straw Hat brat!"

Alvida grinned wickedly before suddenly turning to Koby. "Koby! Who's the most beautiful woman in the world?!"

Koby trembled in fear, nervously rubbing his hands together as he stammered, "H-Hehe, of course, it's La—"

"Who's this fat woman?" Luffy interrupted without a second thought.

A dead silence fell over the deck.

The pirates' jaws dropped.

Everyone was convinced—Luffy was doomed.

Alvida's face twisted with fury. "Fat woman?! Who are you calling a fat woman?! Go to hell, Straw Hat brat!"

She swung her massive mace down at Luffy with full force. But Luffy didn't move. He let the weapon strike him square on the head.

BANG!

The mace shattered against his straw hat.

Alvida's triumphant grin froze. Her expression quickly turned to one of shock.

Her crew stood frozen in disbelief.

Luffy patted his hat, confirming that it was completely undamaged, then flashed a big grin.

"Hee hee! I'm the man who's gonna be King of the Pirates! No way I'd lose to someone like you!"

With that, he threw a single punch—sending Alvida flying like a shooting star .
