Evan was busy throughout the morning.

He processed fruit, unloaded goods, and organized Pokémon to help move the delivered items to the warehouse.

Unknowingly, the time quickly reached noon.

Gallade and the other Pokémon had already started preparing lunch for Evan.

Just as Evan was about to take a rest, Aunt Jenn arrived with an elderly man and a child.

Seeing this, Evan hurriedly stood up and greeted them.

"May I know your name?"

"I am Dean Zyair, Hello."

When Dean Zyair saw Evan, he immediately greeted him.

Evan had great respect for elderly individuals like him.

Growing up in an orphanage himself, Evan deeply understood the dedication and sacrifices of orphanage directors.

Judging from the dean's weathered appearance, Evan could tell this man had devoted his life to caring for orphans.

Dean Zyair, in turn, seemed pleased to meet Evan.

"Hello, Dean Evan."

"This child will be in your care now."

As he spoke, his face betrayed a hint of reluctance. His attachment to the child was evident, but circumstances left him no choice—the orphanage could no longer operate.

He had visited many other orphanages, some of which were less than ideal, but Evan had agreed to take the child without hesitation.

The dean admitted he had been surprised when he arrived. Outside, the orphanage looked brand new. It even had a shop, a far cry from the modest institution he had run.

From his conversation with Aunt Jenn, he learned that Evan had achieved all this by running a successful breeding house. The funds he earned were used to develop the orphanage and create additional income sources, transforming it into a near-paradise compared to other orphanages.

After listening, Evan turned his attention to the little girl holding Dean Zyair's hand.

She appeared to be slightly older than Lily and Arnold, around eight years old. Despite her simple attire, her delicate and cute appearance stood out. Her confused and timid demeanor only added to her pitiful charm.

"Don't worry, I'll take good care of her," Evan said reassuringly. "You're welcome to check in on her anytime."

Hearing this, Dean Zyair seemed more at ease.

"Malaya, you'll live here with Dean Evan from now on," the dean said gently. "You must be obedient, okay? Grandpa will visit whenever he can."

Though Malaya had heard these words many times during their journey, she nodded.

"I know, Grandpa," she said softly. Despite her outward calm, her reluctance to part was evident.

Seeing her response, Dean Zyair handed Malaya's small hand into Evan's.

"Please take care of her."

He handed Evan a document bag containing Malaya's identification and transfer information, necessary for her education and future needs.

Evan accepted the documents and held Malaya's hand firmly.

"Leave it to me," he assured.

The transfer was complete. Dean Zyair smiled, satisfied with Evan's determination.

"Alright, since the handover is done, I'll take my leave."

"If anything comes up, don't hesitate to call me. Malaya, you too. If you miss Grandpa, call me anytime, okay?"

Hearing this, Malaya's eyes grew misty, but she nodded.

"I understand," she said, her voice trembling slightly.

Seeing Malaya on the verge of tears, Dean Zyair gently rubbed her head.

"Be good~~..!" he said softly. "Don't cry. It's not like we won't see each other again."

Malaya nodded, wiping the tears from her eyes and doing her best to hold back the next wave of sobs.

Dean Zyair smiled warmly and turned to Evan. "Then I won't trouble you any longer. The car is waiting for me, so I'll take my leave."

With that, he decisively turned and walked toward the exit.

Evan, holding Malaya's hand, followed him outside. "Let me see you off."

As they watched Dean Zyair leave, Malaya suddenly cried out loudly, "Waaa!" Her suppressed emotions overflowed, tears streaming down her face.

Evan felt at a loss for a moment. He thought to himself, It's okay—just let her cry it out. Children recover quickly.

He knew that Malaya would miss Dean Zyair for some time, but with care and distractions, she would eventually adapt to her new environment.

"Alright, that's enough crying," Evan said gently. "Come on, I'll show you the Pokémon."

He glanced at Aunt Jenn. "Aunt Jenn, could you buy some new clothes for Malaya? I'll handle things here for now."

Aunt Jenn nodded immediately. "I'll head out right away. The clothes she came with are in poor condition—she needs new ones."

With that, Aunt Jenn left to start shopping for Malaya's new wardrobe.

Meanwhile, Evan led Malaya to the backyard, where his Pokémon were gathered. The little girl, still sniffling, stopped crying entirely as she caught sight of the Pokémon. Her red, puffy eyes widened in wonder.

"Gardevoir, stop!" Evan called to his Gardevoir, who was busy training nearby.

Hearing his voice, Gardevoir paused and turned to look at him curiously. The other Pokémon also stopped what they were doing, their attention drawn to Evan.

"What's wrong?" Gardevoir asked, tilting her head slightly.

Evan clapped his hands to get everyone's attention and motioned for them to come closer. "Everyone, come here! I want to introduce someone new. This is Malaya. She's going to be part of our family now. Be sure to play with her and make her feel welcome."

At his words, the Pokémon's eyes lit up with excitement. Malaya, though still sniffling a little, looked up at the Pokémon in awe. Her tear-streaked face made the Pokémon look at her with sympathy.

One by one, they ran up to greet her.

"Pika pika!"

"Char~!!"

"Grow~~!!"

All at once, the Pokémon surrounded Malaya, each making their unique cries.

Malaya's face lit up with joy as she recognized one of the Pokémon. "It's Pikachu!!" she exclaimed excitedly.

Pikachu, always a crowd favorite, immediately began performing playful antics. He made all kinds of adorable expressions, bouncing around to cheer her up.

Seeing Pikachu's cheerful display, Malaya couldn't help but smile brightly, her sadness momentarily forgotten.
