The sky turned completely dark. After Evan caught several Magikarp in a row, his face became as gloomy as the night sky above.

"What's the difference between catching Magikarp and flying solo in the Air Force?" Evan muttered, clearly frustrated.

This string of bad luck left him deeply annoyed. It felt utterly disheartening.

Sighing, Evan dropped his fishhook back into the water.

"Lura~~!"

Beside him, Lurantis chirped softly, trying to comfort him.

Hearing its reassuring voice, Evan smiled faintly. "I'm fine," he said. "Don't worry, I'll definitely catch something worthwhile."

Encouraged by his own words, Evan quietly looked ahead with determination. Lurantis nodded confidently, sharing his belief.

And so, Evan stayed at the water's edge, continuing his patient game of wits with the Pokémon of the sea.

To be fair, fishing for Pokémon at night was always a challenge, especially Water-types. Most Pokémon followed similar activity patterns to humans, resting at night unless they were forced to venture out for food. This meant that only the smaller, weaker Pokémon, often bullied by others, came out to scavenge during these hours.

Though Evan had baited the waters generously, his efforts attracted few Pokémon, mostly just Magikarp.

But as the night deepened, the tide seemed to shift. Under the astonished gaze of Evan and Lurantis, the calm waters where he had scattered bait suddenly came alive with motion. It was as though dozens of Pokémon had rushed to the spot at once, eagerly feasting.

"lura!" Lurantis exclaimed in shock, standing up.

Evan narrowed his eyes at the commotion. The faint starlight reflected on the water, but it wasn't enough to reveal what exactly was causing the frenzy.

"Lurantis, use Bullet Seed," Evan instructed. "Aim right there!"

Golden seeds shot from Lurantis like a hail of bullets, peppering the water's surface with precise strikes.

Biubiubiu~~!

The seeds exploded upon impact, sending waves of water splashing into the air. As the chaos subsided and the water stilled, the results of their effort began to surface.

Floating on the sea were numerous fainted Pokémon. Evan and Lurantis leaned closer to identify them.

"Feebas?" Evan's voice was laced with surprise. "And Goldeen... Tentacruel...?"

But it was the sheer number of Feebas that left him stunned. Eight of the delicate, rare Pokémon floated helplessly, completely unconscious from Lurantis's attack.

"Did I just stumble upon a Feebas den?" Evan murmured, still processing the sight.

However, as the weakened Pokémon began to sink back into the depths, Evan sprang into action, tossing Poké Balls rapidly to catch them all. "No time to figure this out now—let's just catch them first!"

One by one, the Poké Balls snapped shut, successfully capturing the group.

Looking at his haul, Evan's frustration over the endless Magikarp melted away, replaced with satisfaction.

"Maybe I can raise a whole Feebas tribe," he said, his spirits lifted by the thought of such potential.

With the Pokémon secured, Evan stood up, his heart lighter. He turned to Lurantis with a smile.

"Alright, let's pack up and get some rest," he said. "Gardevoir should be back by now. We've caught enough for tonight."

Lurantis helped gather his belongings, and the two headed back to their campsite.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before Gardevoir returned, carrying the Poké Balls Evan had entrusted to her earlier.

"Gardi~~!" she greeted, her voice full of energy.

Evan grinned. Tonight had turned out far better than he had hoped.

Pikachu and Charmander dashed toward Evan, one chasing the other in playful pursuit.

Moments later, Gardevoir appeared beside him, having used Teleport to catch up instantly.

"I've already caught some," Gardevoir said, handing over a collection of Poké Balls. "Poliwag, Slowpoke, Wooper, Cloyster, and Seel. Is this enough?"

Evan examined the Poké Balls, his face lighting up with approval.

"That's plenty," he said with a smile. "Well done."

"I also managed to catch a lot of Pokémon here," Evan added. "This trip's haul is more than enough to bring back."

Evan felt a wave of satisfaction. He hadn't expected Gardevoir to be so efficient, and the diversity of the Pokémon she caught was a welcome bonus. Though they couldn't catch every Water-type in the area, their current collection was more than adequate.

Hearing his praise, Gardevoir nodded and sat down beside him.

Evan carefully stowed all the Poké Balls, then turned to his Pokémon.

"We'll rest here for the night," he announced. "Tomorrow, we head home."

The Pokémon around him responded with nods and happy cries. None had any objections.

Lurantis promptly curled up and fell asleep next to Evan, while Gardevoir sat serenely on his other side. Evan lay back on the sandy beach, surrounded by his Pokémon.

The night passed peacefully. The cool air was refreshing but not cold enough to cause discomfort, and Evan had checked the weather forecast earlier—no rain was expected. With that assurance, he slept soundly.

The Next Morning

Evan was awakened by the warm rays of the early morning sun. It was around 6 a.m., and the golden light painted the sky with soft hues of orange and pink.

He stretched as he sat up, taking in the quiet scene. The campsite was tranquil, the fire extinguished, and even Pidgeot, who had returned during the night, sat nearby with its eyes closed in meditation.

Evan stood and began washing up. As he did, the Pokémon started to stir one by one.

"Garde~~!" Gardevoir greeted.

"Pika!"

"Char~!"

"Lura~!"

The group exchanged cheerful greetings, their energy infectious.

Evan smiled and addressed them. "Alright, it's time to head back. Everyone, return to your Poké Balls for now."

The Pokémon complied without hesitation. Gardevoir led the group, returning to its Poké Ball along with the others, ready for the journey.

After tidying up the area and disposing of any trash, Evan climbed onto Pidgeot's back.

"Let's go," he said, patting its feathers.

With a powerful beat of its wings, Pidgeot soared into the sky, carrying Evan toward Water City. The cool morning breeze rushed past them as they sped through the air, leaving the serene beach behind.
