Chapter 74: 62. A Litter Of Milotics(Part 2)
When passing by Water City, Evan also saw what the golden coast mentioned by Colton was about.
Under the early morning sun, the long beach sparkled as though covered with a layer of golden sand.
It looked stunning.
Even so early in the day, many tourists had already gathered on the beach to take photos and enjoy the scenery.
All Evan could say was that it was very lively.
But these things had nothing to do with him.
After a few more glances, he lost interest.
Let's come back and explore another time. For now, it's better to head back.
At around 7:30 in the morning, Evan returned to the breeding house.
It just so happened that the children were getting ready for school at this time.
Seeing Evan landing gracefully on Pidgeot, the children waved excitedly.
Especially when they noticed him riding Pidgeot, their eyes lit up with excitement.
They all seemed eager to take a ride themselves.
Pidgeot, however, seemed uneasy when it noticed their enthusiasm.
No way, right? Are they all planning to ride me? That would be so unlucky!
With this thought in mind, Pidgeot panicked slightly.
After safely dropping Evan off at the breeding house, it immediately flew off to the back mountain to avoid the children.
What Pidgeot didn't anticipate was that the children were too busy getting ready for school to bother with it.
Evan didn't disturb the kids either, as their school bus had just arrived.
The children climbed aboard, ready for their day at school.
Meanwhile, Evan entered the breeding house, where Luna and the others had already begun their morning tasks.
They were busy feeding the Pokémon.
Seeing this, Evan headed toward the lake.
Isla and the others were there, tending to the Pokémon as well.
"Brother Evan, you're back!" Luna exclaimed, her face lighting up.
"How was your trip?" another asked.
"Did you catch any Pokémon?"
Evan nodded, then pulled out his backpack full of Poké Balls.
The three helpers were stunned to see so many.
So many Pokémon?
Evan placed the Poké Balls down and turned to Isla.
"Let's release all these Pokémon," he instructed.
"Most of them are water-types. Let them live in this lake from now on."
"Daniel, grab some energy cubes quickly. These Pokémon haven't eaten yet."
Hearing this, Daniel nodded and ran off to fetch the cubes.
Evan and the others had prepared a good supply of low-level energy cubes, crafted by local helpers after Evan had taught them the process. Over time, they had accumulated plenty.
Machamp transported these energy cubes daily to a warehouse that now served as a cafeteria for wild Pokémon.
For the water-types, however, feeding needed to be handled differently since they couldn't come ashore.
Soon, one by one, the Poké Balls were opened, and the water-type Pokémon were released into the lake.
The newly released Pokémon looked bewildered, unsure of what was happening.
Weren't we in the sea? How did we end up here?
Some Pokémon, however, seemed unfazed—likely those captured by Gardevoir, who had explained the situation to them beforehand. They curiously observed their new surroundings.
Evan released Magikarp, Feebas, and other water-types into the lake, then instructed Corsola and Psyduck—who already lived there—not to pick fights with the newcomers.
Corsola and Psyduck were Pokémon left here by other trainers, while the resident Magikarp had been part of the lake's ecosystem for a while.
The Magikarp, used to being well-fed by Evan, showed no hostility toward the new arrivals.
Why make trouble for newcomers when there's plenty of food to go around?
It's not like there was a shortage of food.
The arrival of new Pokémon even seemed to make the existing ones happier.
The Feebas, though curious, weren't ridiculed for their appearance. Despite their reputation for being "ugly," the other Pokémon seemed to sense their struggle.
So thin! the Magikarp seemed to observe with pity. They must never have had anything good to eat.
While the Magikarp were curious about their new companions, other water-type Pokémon swam into view: Poliwag, Slowpoke, Wooper, Cloyster, Seel, Goldeen, Tentacruel, and more—common but vibrant water Pokémon.
After releasing all the Pokémon, Evan addressed them:
"Alright, you've been captured by me," he began.
"From now on, this is your new home. You won't have to worry about food anymore—I'll make sure you're all taken care of. Just don't fight each other, alright?"
As Evan spoke, he used his Psychic abilities to help convey his intentions.
The Pokémon, feeling the strange and powerful force, didn't object.
What could we even say? they thought. This human might as well be a Legendary Pokémon with power like that.
Several Feebas trembled, nearly fainting from the overwhelming psychic energy.
At that moment, Daniel and the others returned, carrying food supplies. Machamp followed, holding a large basket brimming with energy cubes.
Evan waved them over.
"Machamp, toss all the energy cubes into the water," he instructed. "These will be your food from now on," he added, turning back to the Pokémon.
"Remember, there's no need to fight over food. There's plenty for everyone. You'll be well-fed here, so there's no need to worry."
Some of the Pokémon, who had started to get restless at the sight of food, immediately calmed down after Evan's reassurance.
Once the energy cubes were distributed, the water Pokémon eagerly began to eat. It wasn't long before they realized that Evan had been truthful—hunger would no longer be a problem here.
Watching the Pokémon eat with newfound energy, Evan sighed.
"Wild Pokémon really have it rough out there," he murmured.
He turned to Isla and added, "By the way, find some videos of Feebas evolving into Milotic. Show them to these Feebas. Let them see how beautiful they can become after they evolve.
"Make sure the other Pokémon see it, too. I don't want any discrimination here.
"When I get a chance, I'll bring back some Prism Scales so they can evolve. Let's see if we can grow this small group into a thriving population."
Luna nodded immediately.
"Got it. I'll handle it," she said, making a note of the task.
Evan watched as the Pokémon, now full and content, began exploring the lake. It was clear they were already starting to adapt to their new home.
Feeling a sense of relief, Evan left them to settle in. He headed back to his room to take a shower, washing off the lingering traces of his trip to the beach.
After freshening up, he pulled out his phone and began catching up on messages.
Aside from updates sent by Luna and the others the previous evening, there was also a file from Colton containing detailed information on Pokémon Eggs.
Evan hadn't checked his phone the day before and had ignored the messages. Now curious, he transferred the document to his computer for a closer look.
The file listed a wide variety of Pokémon Eggs. It was clear that the options had been carefully curated—less practical Pokémon Eggs had been excluded, leaving only valuable or versatile options.
Scanning the list, Evan began to consider what types of Pokémon Eggs would be the most beneficial to bring back.
