NOVEL ONLINE FREE Chapter 2: First day of school
Rian slowly opened his eyes taking in his unfamiliar yet familiar room, slowly the memories of yesterday came to him. He'd moved to Forks Washington and was currently living with Charlie. As he got out of bed and dressed he heard a metallic whine along with a rumble from outside.
He made his way downstairs and opened the door at first noticing nothing, he looked down the street only to see a reddish orange truck that had seen better days. The truck started to slow as it reached the driveway before pulling in and coming to a stop. It was the 1960 Chevy behemoth that he was familiar with from the movie. Just as Charlie was getting out Bella came running out of the house almost slipping on a ice patch. Before she could fall Rian's arm like a snake shot out grabbing her shoulder and stabilized her.
Charlie walked over keys in hand held them out to Bella.
"It's your's kiddo."
Bella looked from the truck to Charlie with excitement and jumped inside looking it over. She came back with a smile and hugged Charlie.
"Thank you I love it...dad."
Charlie didn't know what to say so he just smiled and patted her back. Rian was smiling when he noticed another pickup truck pulling in. A tanned young man got out who seemed about his and Bella's age with long black hair and dark brown eyes. He went around the truck pulling a wheelchair out of the bed. Going to the passenger door he helped and older man who was wearing a cowboy hat into it.
Rian watched the two with curiosity as he knew them from the book but not personally.
As he watched them a strange scent entered his nose making him frown, it was sweet but not sickening. He looked to the forest trying to pinpoint the smell, he strained his hearing only to hear a twig snap and the smell disappear.
'Hmm...Strange.'
Rian refocused on the conversation where he heard Charlie and Billy talking about some game, probably football. And Jacob awkwardly reminding Bella they used to play with each other by bringing up mud pies. He just shook his head in amusement while going back inside thinking about the next day. Tomorrow was his and Bella's first day at Forks High School.
The day passed pretty quickly with nothing interesting happening other than that strange smell from the woods. He was upstairs drawing the woods he saw earlier, he found early on that art was a calming exercise that he enjoyed doing. While he was drawing Bella was cooking dinner, something like a la carte is what she said. Surprisingly her clumsiness didn't roll over into her cooking, which she loved to do.
The next day arrived swiftly Rian's alarm clock blaring at an annoying pitch making him grumble. He slowly got up, showered and got dressed before 6, leaving him to room to make 4 eggs for breakfast and 2 more for Charlie and Bella. He made lot's of bacon as well if he didn't have enough meat he got a little irritable during the day.
He set his backpack by the door and went to wake everyone up starting with Charlie whom he made wake up Bella. He knew Bella wasn't a morning person and didn't want to deal her in the mornings. It definitely wasn't because he found it funny to let Charlie experience a morning Bella, definitely not.
While waiting Rian decided to check his status which he hadn't checked lately.

'I've gotten pretty strong and the partial dragonification boosts my stats by 50%, I can also boost my self with runes. So I should be fine in this world.'
As Rian was deep in thought Charlie and Bella had come downstairs. Looking at Charlie's face Rian couldn't help the laugh that left his throat. Charlie was frowning and had feathers in his hair like he'd dived into a chicken coop. Charlie glared at Rian silently promising revenge for not telling him about Bella's morning temperament.
Once Bella and Charlie ate Rian grabbed his bag slinging it over one shoulder walking to the truck. He looked over his shoulder and saw Bella talking to Charlie, he was probably telling her to be careful and about the dangers of driving on ice. Typical over protective dad mode. He snorted at the thought.
Rian hopped in the trucks passenger seat and waited, once Bella finished assuring Charlie she would be careful she hopped in the driver's seat and started the truck. It rumbled to life though with his hearing Rian heard a small clanking and decide to check it out once he had a chance. With that they pulled out of the driveway and made their way to school. Pulling in Rian told her to take one of the farther paking spots stating it would prevent them from getting caught in the madness of highschool kids trying to be the first to leave.
They hopped out of the truck Rian slinging his bag once more over one shoulder. As they began to make their way to the school he noticed the attention they were getting, he let out a sigh grumbling under his breath.
"Damn my good looks they draw to much damn attention. Gods I hate having to go through this every damn time."
He made a quick motion with his fingers making a runic sentence casting a small spell which would cause others to overlook him. They did run into Jessica, Angela, and Mike, the most annoying one being Mike who as soon as he saw her was like a parasite clinging on for dear life. After finding the administration building they headed in side to complete the registration process.
They were handed a schedule and told to get it signed by each teacher and return it at the end of the day. Rian's first period was art, followed by arithmetics, biology which meant he was with Bella in third period, his forth class be advanced history, then lunch, followed by gym, then his last class being Advanced English. Gods he's going to hate today isn't he? His first class was in building 1 where he seperated from Bella. He walked into the class room heading straight to the teachers desk holding out his schedule.
"Hello I'm Rian Ó Dubhghaill, It's Ree-an not Ryan. I was told to have you sign this so I can return it at the end of the day."
The are teacher looked up suprised and took the schedule looking it over. She had blond hair and green eyes framed by large rounded glasses. She wasn't particularly pretty but she wasn't average either.
"Hello Rian I'm Mrs. Smith I have one seat available right there at the back. Tell me what is your favorite for of art?"
Rian paused thinking it through he enjoyed sketching and portraits, he enjoyed abstract painting, and he also enjoyed perspective drawing. Each had their own strengths in his opinion if he wanted to just create he used abstract as the colors were soothing, perspective drawing brought a bit of realism by catching the distances in the piece. But if he had to choose it would be sketching and portraits as he could just draw what he felt or he could have someone as a subject and draw them, he done a few portraits of Bella and Renée.
"I prefer sketching and portraits, though I wouldn't mind doing other assignments."
"Hmmm...very well go sit down class is about to begin."
Rian turned around and looked towards his assigned seat was and stopped dead. He was looking at a petite girl with short black hair and golden eyes. She had a dreamy look as if she wasn't actually here with the real world. She snapped out of her daze and looked at me with a bright smile that seemed to bring light into the room.
'Shit it had to be happen now I'm not ready!'
Rian was stupifyed meeting her here hopefully nothing comes of it, I don't want jasper trying to tear me apart. And with that his day began.
